I had a rather disappointing experience at this cafe. As a mother dealing with the challenges and expenses of school holidays, I hoped the animal sanctuary cafe would be a pleasant and reasonably priced option. However, I ended up regretting my decision to dine there as the food and drinks left much to be desired. The kids' beans on toast was decent in taste, but the portion size of just one piece of toast was quite underwhelming. The pizza slice looked appealing, but unfortunately, the toppings lacked flavor, and the dough didn't hold up well, disintegrating as I tried to enjoy it. The vanilla milkshake was disappointing as it tasted bland, lacking any real vanilla flavor. And as for the coffee, it was truly atrocious. Even adding sugar couldn't salvage the taste, and the takeaway cups had an odd smell that didn't help matters. All in all, I would advise against visiting this cafe during your trip to Hopefield. It's better to pack your own food and avoid the disappointment of a lackluster dining experience.

Whilst myself and my family are not vegan, we really enjoyed the plant based food and drink we had at Max’s - the chocolate orange cake was the most amazing cake we’ve eaten in ages! It really did make us think about trying more plant based food in our every day lives, so really pleased we tried it. Staff are friendly and the fact it’s part of an animal sanctuary makes it a perfect pick for families. It’s also dog friendly and the resident car - Tilly - was a big hit with the kids.

We come to Max’s cafe all the time because it is just such an easy and lovely experience. It’s situated in Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, where it’s free to park (bonus!) and you don’t actually have to visit the sanctuary, although half the time we do end up doing just that. If you just want food though, they have a great menu, so far everything we’ve tried has been delicious. The cheesy chips are really good. They have an excellent selection, and it’s surprisingly inexpensive, in fact feeding my 3 kids here has worked out cheaper than anywhere else in the local area (another big bonus!). The staff in the cafe are all really friendly and accommodating, it’s clean and overall really pleasant. Check their opening times before you go to avoid disappointment, I’ve found them very responsive on Facebook Messenger and usually message ahead to check they are open.

Visited Hopefield animal sanctuary with my friends as a little day out and come across their amazing plant based cafe! I was so impressed with the menu and the staff was so lovely! Stopped and had a lovely oat latte and highly recommend the hot dog was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back!

Came to visit daughter on placement from uni. Wasn’t busy but was told food be about 30 mins was over a hour till we got it. Husband had a lasagne and daughter and I had ultimate sharer, which was only 2 of each different selection?? Wouldn’t class as ultimate as needed at least 4 of each thing to feed 2 people. Husband said lasagne could had been bigger portion as well. Food was nice though but bigger portions would be great. Staff were all friendly can’t fault them. Would visit again if bigger portions.

Booked a table for 2 last night. When we sat down we were told it was their last night before closing so the menu was limited! Why weren't we told before we booked?! Literally 5 dishes left on the menu. Poor quality. Unprofessional staff, treating the place like a youth centre. No wonder it's closing down.

Decided to visit this Indian restaurant from looking on google & we were not disappointed! Raj in particular was very friendly & accomodating, recommended a great lamb dish for my partner & helped me with a special cheese naan. The food was very tasty & well presented. We will definitely come back.

These little sides are a disgrace very small and there's no dressing for the salad. The people though are quality people just not the food portions.
