Our meals were good. I had fish, I thought my veg selection was a bit odd, carrots, parsnips, brussels etc. Service was a bit hit and miss. Clean restaurant/toilets. Large, free car park, with chargers.

Superb food , it was rightly busy for afternoon tea but surprisingly quiet in the evening which is a great shame as the service and food were of the highest quality

We booked a table for 10 , the service was painfully slow although only 4 or 5 tables were occupied. We sat for our meal around 7:30 and we didn't get up until 11:30. Only 2 waiters were serving. My pigeon starter was overcooked, very tough to cut and also very chewy. We have been regular customers for more than 15 years and we are extremely disappointed with the whole experience.

Went today with 5 friends. Food was good but small portions. Other than mash, no veg was served. Service was good. Shan't be returning as prices too high for what was served.

Little tired in decor but Afternoon tea was lovely.

A fab place to escape to and enjoy wholesome healthy food, with really attentive and welcoming staff. I came here years ago, was very glad we went back. I recommend arriving a little early and having a drink in the bar/reception area to enjoy the decor.

We had an afternoon tea for 12 people. The service was very good and they checked we had enough to drink many times. The food was exceptional with lots of different little cakes and sandwiches. Would recommend

This was a very odd place. We were given a gift voucher and had never heard of the hotel/restaurant before. We booked a table for lunch at 12.30 but our table was not ready until gone 1.30 and our 2 year old kept saying he was hungry. I had to ask several times if we could order and be seated sooner, and if they could bring out the children's meal as soon as it was ready but they didn't . The children's menu was VERY expensive for what it was, £25 for garlic bread, a small bowl of pasta and some ice cream. As it was a Sunday we were limited to the roast dinner which was fine as we love a roast but the food was average. It took ages to come out and the service was very slow, the beef was very fatty. I feel we were tricked with dessert as the menu said chocolate caramel but turned out to be egg custard! We had to ask for everything, sauces, drinks, a high chair, water. They didn't seem to anticipate a customers needs or ask the usual questions you normally hear in a restaurant. Thankfully we had a voucher and didn't have to pay. I can't say I'd be going back again.

Loved the style and decor of the place. Room was very clean and bathroom was massive. Ordered the Moroccan platter and enjoyed the chicken kebab and other bits but not the Aubergine caviar.

We had a cream tea. Wonderful service. Food was delicious. They even turned the heat up when I felt cold. I'd definitely go again.

Lovely Festive Tea, too much to eat, bottomless drinks! No rush, could stay as long as necessary. Would have give 5* but just didn't like the cups.

Very nice! Staff were superb and accommodating. Food and serving was amazing. Quality good for the price. 4 star food for 4 star price. Little dated but added to the charm. Only thing I’ll say is the menu is a little restricted - but that’s it. Amazing place. Really recommend. :)

Well, err,hmm. I ordered roast beef with the Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, the usual thing. My beef came mooing. I shall not return. But some of my group had chicken and liked it. So by all means, go and try for yourself.

Lovely meal from their Christmas Menu. Always beautiful inside & the people are lovely. One of my favourite places to visit.

Went there for Christmas dinner 2016 the food was very disappointing the service was nonexistent and it was over priced. Christmas Day was ruined. Thanks very much. Will not be going back. Mr hare. Brentwood
