The atmosphere and service was good considering it was a busy evening. We had 2 starters and lasagne with 2 glasses of red wine, price wise it was okay considering we had starters as well. The food was tasty but too salty for my taste, especially the prawn mushroom starter. Overall it was a nice evening and we enjoyed ourselves.

Visited on a Thursday night with my brother. We arrived approx 9.15pm and only one table eating. All staff sat down chatting so had to ask if they were still open and serving. We were seated and served drinks. Waiter popped over about 10 minutes later and said ‘have your ordered’. No hello, no how are you. Ordered our dishes which arrived quickly and the food was ok. The other table sat behind us left leaving only us in. The waiters then proceeded to get a vacuum out and started vacuuming around us while we were still eating. We felt rushed and were asked to move to a sofa when we finished our food as we were still enjoying our drinks. The owner or barman then said ‘we are closing, can you leave’!!!! All the lights were turned off around us so quickly finished our drinks and left. In hindsight we should have gone to Ayeshas or the Samad cottage as these restaurants value customers more than the Mint leaf who made us feel unwelcome and a bit of an inconvenience. Won’t be back.

New owners so we thought we'd give it a try. I ordered a duck in plum sauce and a salt & pepper box for 1. Positives - Rice was light and fluffy and plentiful and the plum sauce used fresh pineapple Not so good - more garlic than a garlic baguette!! I'm not the biggest fan of garlic but love Chinese food so will always tolerate it. Husband picked it up and put it in the car, the smell of garlic was overpowering. On getting it home, everything in the s&p box was covered in garlic powder, garlic salt and minced garlic. The duck was covered in batter (something I've never had before, always roasted duck breast) and the sauce was thick, gloopy and had a strange taste - mostly like batter. Bar the rice and pineapple it's in the bin. Husband refused to eat it and I picked out a few bits. Might have well set fire to £20!! It'd have been more enjoyable. I've never had to throw a take away in the bin, first time for everything. I'll stick with wok wonder or China chef in the future!!

Our daughter arranged an afternoon tea for family from 100 miles away, for a 70th birthday. The staff co-operated fully to ensure that even if she was held up on the M1, she would be able to collect the teas ready for the family gathering. There was so much food and all was absolutely delicious. The delicatessen took the stress away from her and enabled everyone to have a good time. Thank you so much!

Missing items in our order, replaced with items we didn’t want and the curry’s we ordered were lacking in flavour. The lamb biryani tasted more like mutton, extremely chewy. The nans were broken up and tiny for what they charge…Overall, extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend.

We had a take away, once again ( we travel 10 miles) yes there are quite a few nearby but ayesha’s are worth the visit. Firstly, ‘ Elvis’ who is on front of house greats you with a lovely smile and if asked, a little tune? We had tandoori chicken starter, tandoori chilli Bhuna, tikka biryani, mushroom rice, garlic naan. Absolutely delicious , fresh , tasty, until next time… ah haha .

We ordered a variety of dishes all were very salty which spoiled the meal and overpowerd the flavours
