This was our first time trying The Hay Barn and it really didn't disappoint. We went on a Monday at 10:45 and got a table no problem, but the cafe did fill up fast. The lady that served us was absolutely lovely couldn't do enough for us. We had a ham and cheese toastie, one of the specials which was a feta and walnut scone with fig chutney, a fresh fig and salad and the lemon cake. All presented beautifully and absolutely delicious. I was full after my toastie so couldn't manage my lemon cake so they happily boxed it up for me, it also came with some fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries along with a pot of cream. The coffees all came with a lovely shortbread biscuit which again was lovely. The extras and attention to detail was fantastic and the service faultless. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We shall definitely be returning to try one of the dinners which also looked amazing. Free parking is on site.

Went here today with my exercise class. We had hot drink and biscuits then a talk about floral media then a demonstration of a tied bouquet of flowers from the gardens where couples can have their wedding. Then a delicious buffet prepared by Steven plenty of choice and delicious A good outing and warm welcome from Paula and Steven.

This was a wonderful find and I have been back on a number of occasions. The food is amazing and the staff and atmosphere is brilliant. The sad note to this is that it is closing soon and we will be missing yet another excellent pub due to lack of custom. I’ll be very sad to see the end of yet another amazing establishment.

We visit the Dovecote 3-4 times a year. The food is always exceptional and the service very attentive, our recent visit being no exception. My turkey dinner was really tasty, as was the festive creme brûlée and we were made to feel really welcome. Just wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

Had been meaning to give this place a go for weeks, as we constantly drove past the sign. Never got the opportunity for one reason or another. So we took a chance and gave it a whirl on a weekday. It was very nice, welcoming, etc, etc. However, the prices did seem way off the scale for what appeared when the order arrived. It was very expensive and not THAT good to be honest. You don't mind paying a premium when the quality is top notch, but this really wasn't. No better than what you would expect to find in a supermarket and twice the cost. We left bitterly disappointed and still a bit hungry.
