Great food good prices, and very friendly definitely recommended.

Wonderful friendly pub which is very dog friendly and serve a Sunday dinner which was delicious, will definitely be back when in the area again.

The restaurant was welcoming and staff were very attentive. Food was very nice, great chips and coleslaw, I just felt that the vegan burger could do with a more rustic appearance as it appeared similar to others I had seen before. Good coffee but does need to accommodate for vegans with oat and soy milk.

Only problem they don't sell au vodka so don't use it very often even if it's my local xx

Our first visit...and definitely wasn't disappointed! Food amazing, there was a wait due to problems with the fryers however this didn't bother us as it was well communicated. We chose off the 2 for £12 menu and decided to take pudding away with us. Nice restaurant area and lovely friendly service, you have a great FOH team. We will definitely be back 🙂

Cold , soulless, average and could do better. The staff not very unfriendly , could not get their attention and when you did it was like you bothering them!! Probably the worst service I have had in a while sadly . Had not been here in years and don’t think I’ll bother again .So many of these once good establishments just getting by on their history I think most places I go lately it’s like they doing you a favour instead of the job they are PAID to do, I also work for a minimum wage but doesn’t stop giving 100%

Feel lucky to have this lovely pub/restaurant close to us. Have visited for both lunch and more recently dinner and the food is always hot delicious. Beautifully cooked steak, pizzas and pies packed with delicious fillings. The sharing boards are ideal as a starter for two. Always friendly, and helpful service too. Looking forward to going back.

Visited again after the refurbishment and we were not impressed with the food or the service. I ordered the belly pork and my husband had the lamb kebabs. When the food was served the initial presentation and portion size looked good, however, the pork was overcooked and dry, the peas & carrot batons were cold and tasteless, the mash tasted like it had just been reheated and the sauce (served in a small pan) was so thick, it solidified in the pan. The lamb kebabs were ‘ok’ but not worth £17.95. No one returned to the table to ask if everything was ok with our food until 15 minutes after we had finished eating. I explained why I had left everything on my plate except the pork and the staff member said he would pass on my comments. Despite my complaint, the food was charged at full price and when I challenged this, we were eventually offered £5 off the bill. Not great service and we will not be returning. Very disappointing.

1st visit to The Dog so was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food which is 2 for 1 every day.Staff were friendly and welcoming so we would definitely go back
