1st visit to The Dog so was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food which is 2 for 1 every day.Staff were friendly and welcoming so we would definitely go back

Lovely Sunday roast apart from the gravy which was quite watery. It would be nice for veggies to be served separately to meat and potatoes so you can help yourself and to be able to add cauliflower cheese as an extra. Fish and chips are devine and also the southern fried chicken burger is amazing!!

A clean, comfortable, friendly, well run pub just like pubs used to be! As a group of 17 nothing was too much trouble for any of us - at least 12 people had meals and each one was lovely. Prices are fab for both food and drinks. The atmosphere here made us all feel at home and the Christmas decorations and big fireplace set the visit off. Cannot thank management and staff enough.

Terrible microwaved food and overpriced for the rubbish they serve you. Made me feel sick. A chicken and mushroom pie that the pastry was soggy due to being microwaved, with their chips that were clearly out of the air fryer and nothing home cooked. All for £11!! Disgusting for what you get. Also £10+ for a cider and a J20… !! Shocking prices. Cheaper in Bham city centre! Would not recommend and wouldn’t ever go back.

Not good after not being able to go for 15 months or more.Food not hot enough to start with then too hot, vegetables not cooked enough accept for mash, stuffing balls too hard too well done.Plate too small to be able to move food about & cut without food going on table.the food was to the brim ,on edge of plate. We have two children size portions (we are pensioners) so not eat much. They did try to rectify things but not really succeed. We will not be going bac kin a hurry until they prove themselves. We will be going to The Boat Pub little further away in Min worth.They will not get new custom if this is the case every time. Apparantly the Breakfast are fine.

Went with hubby for a meal and was not dissapointed.steak cooked how we liked it and well presented.great value too..we've been here before and have always had a good meal.will be returning soon.thanks

Three of us had the fillet steak Have to say it was out of this world Very highly recommended To be frank you would not have needed a steak knife!

Depends on who serves you, but it is either service with a grunt or a snarled approach, food terrible, if you like frozen food then this is the place for you

Really friendly place, always welcomed with smile from staff. Staff very helpful and quick to make amends should they be needed. Food is great, cooked fresh to your satisfaction. Lovely little pub that we will visit time and time again.

Nice village pub to have a pint. The food is extremely basic but it is cooked perfectly ever time I go. I think they have now stopped serving food in the week and limited to the weekends only. Shame as it's great value for a midweek tea.

Visitamos el perro inn en un domingo mediodía después de un viaje de compras locales. Ha sido muchos años desde que este pub, tiene una agradable decoración moderna que conserva las características tradicionales. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y más que servicial con opciones y pago con tarjeta. Nos sentamos en el jardín, que pueden ser introducidos por una puerta con cerradura y hay una gran área para niños, que parece seguro y está separada de la zona de sentarse fuera. Un bonito lugar para visitar buen menú y un amplio aparcamiento.

Early evening drink and dinner, asked if we could bring dog in, told not welcome quite abruptly, so left without even having a drink, won't bother going again

Nicely decorated now, hopefully with an open fire soon. Menu basic but good value. Pies are especially good. However, a few more veg choices would be nice and thicker chips or wedges or jacket potato as an option?

Wednesday is steak night two fillet steaks for £22 what a bargain both were cooked exactly how we ordered them they came with chips onion rings salad and garden peas I myself had cod and chips mushy peas and tartare sauce

Arrived on a Wednesday evening about 630 for steak night Very quiet Started off with bad vibes No sirloin steak ,then no fillet steaks . Then no steak knives! However 2 of the 4 of us had the fillet steak Long wait for service However when the steak did arrive it was very good Appeared to be larger than the 8oz advertised I have to report that it was perfectly cooked and very tasty At a cost of 26 pounds for 2 it was superb value for money Will return, but maybe get there a bit earlier, this was a specific steak night so amazing that items were not available after an hour of opening on a quiet night Will recommend

Pass this pub a lot. Not much to look at from outside, about year or so ago walked in and out. We were thinking of somewhere to eat and were recommended the dog. We were bit dubious but why not. I'm glad we did, the pubs been refurbished, New owners who were lovely and friendly, the decor was nice and pub was full We ordered 10oz steak, egg, chips , peas, onion, we can't grumble about the food or the price. Glad we went and would definitely go back. Don't let the outside appearance put you off going inside.

Regardless of whether you are a local or visitor you are sure to receive a warm welcome from the cheerful friendly staff. Offering a good selection of both keg and cask ales it is clear that the licensee takes pride in serving the perfect pint. On a cold winters evening I chose a table, in the newly refurbished restaurant, in front of a real fire together with my wife and relatives who were visiting from abroad. After enjoying several pints of quality ale my food arrived in a timely manner and was to prove a real treat. A perfectly cooked, to my liking, thick prime cut of fillet steak with hand cut chips and trimmings. Equally, all other members' of my party commented positively on what was a delicious meal. Desert was freshly made crumble and custard that was worth a brief wait but proved be a real delight. All in all pleasant surroundings, friendly staff and good quality and value for money fayre. As I live in the locality will definitely be back!
