The best cooked breakfast and fresh bread we have ever had! What an absolute gem of a place, set within the beautiful village of Youlgrave. The food is really delicious and the decor lovely. The staff are really helpful. It is an absolute must when visiting Youlgrave. If I had a bigger freezer, I would have bought lots more bread! Thanks so much. Alison & Andy xx

. . . fancied a warm drink as got throughly cold and damp on our walk; knew Peak Feast was open as we could smell delicious aromas as we approached. A warm, friendly welcome for us and our dog, Pepper. We sat outside with other friendly customers enjoying the same; thoroughly wholesome! I enjoyed their Earl Grey Tea Loaf packed with fruit and a welcome coffee. We will be back and recommend.

My wife and I called in on our cycle stop! This was Tuesday the 8th of April and a lovely sunny day! It was packed with motorcyclists and cyclists! It was a big big queue, but soon got to be served what I call the best bacon bap around! See photo! At a very reasonable £4-95. Compared to the one I had at the Village Green Eyam last week at £7-95! The staff, food, and coffee never fails to impress me! Excellent 10/10 for me! Well done The Old Smithy staff!,👏👏👏

We came here just before setting out on a walk around Youlgreave. We ordered two coffees, paid, receieved the drinks, and then made our way to the patio/seating area at the rear. After finding a nice table towards the back, a member of staff appeared abruptly and called us out, stating loudly in front of other patrons that we had 'only purchased' takeaway coffees, and that to sit within the patio area was on a completely different 'system' and pricing schedule that we hadn't paid for, and that we had to leave the premises immediately. This was not communicated nor made evident that such a system was in place when we ordered. The angry attitude of the staff member, and the immediate escalation seemingly out of nowhere surprised me and took me aback as I'm a gentle natured person, and I would also never intend to steal. We were made to feel like criminals, subject to humiliation in front of other people. Therefore, we complied with the lady's instructions and left. Bearing the above in mind; we had paid £7+ for the coffees. Is this not enough to warrant consumption on a metal patio table and chair outside, not harming anybody? And if not, could it not have been communicated upfront or in a nicer way? I am a Derbyshire lad and would advise anyone visiting Youlgreave not to buy anything from here and to go to one of the other cafe's in Youlgreave if you are wanting coffee, tea, sandwiches, or a meal. There are plenty that aren't aggressive like this and that would appreciate the business. Next time I will make my own coffee and will never spend hard earned money at this business again.

My wife and I were staying in the next village over and walked over for some food! We had a great experience, and probably our best meal of our entire holiday. My curry of the day was to die for, and I would return in an instant! My wife had the fish and chips which was a good as ever. If we didn’t live in the US, we would return ASAP! Thank you for a warm place and some delicious food.

Well I'm sorry to say that we didn't order any food, we saw the food on other people's plates & it didn't look very appertizing, so can't judge on the taste. We've been holidaying in Youlgrave for the past 17 years, we remember it when Jo & Shaun used to run it. Back then it was great food, well cooked, good service & nothing was too much trouble for them. We had the best Christmas lunch at the George, cooked by Jo. We've never forgotten how lovely it all was & we judge every other meal by it. It must be very hard work runnning any pub, but with the right people to steer it along, it could be great again... I do hope so! Until then we'll have to give it a miss.
