. . . a warm welcome, well stocked shop with a counter full of delights for a picnic or supper at home. I love to support a local, small business rather than other larger establishments! Great value and quality. Nothing is too much trouble.

Every village should have a shop that is the hub of village activity, and this shop is it for Youlgrave. Popped in twice during a short stay in the village and they had exactly what I wanted and service was provided with a smile.

There's everything you need here - at least, speaking from a self catering visitor's point of view. Of special note are the filled cobs. They're not fancy but fresh and well filled. Perfect as a mid hike refreshment along with a flapjack or similar. The service is excellent and friendly.

Not the same since Lisa ran the shop. We find them not that friendly or chatty. Maybe it's just towards holidaymakers...who knows. Very expensive too. Shame!

We’re currently staying in Youlgrave and we’ve visited the village shop twice today - sausage baps and coffee this morning, cheese, crackers and chutney this evening. Friendly service, reasonably priced food, we’ll be back!

Jade and team really run an excellent shop. Nothing is too much trouble - produce is of a high standard, fully stocked, shop is clean and well organised, staff are hardworking, friendly and welcoming. Would certainly recommend that you call in and support this shop - the village and visitors would be lost without it.

We used this shop whilst staying in the area as prefer to buy local where we can. The staff were all friendly and the goods were reasonably priced with a good selection. The fresh food on offer was great too.

We popped into the shop at the start of our walk to get some cake and were delighted they had some brownies left (we've heard great things from friends!). Can highly recommend. Friendly staff.

While out on a walk we passed this hidden gem, saw the cakes in the window and had to give them a try. The millionaires shortbread was mouth watering and my husband had the bakewell and he said he’d never had one that was that nice. Will be back again when we visit the area.

A shop full of goodies, and full of things you didn't realise you needed! Friendly staff, and a well presented, immaculate shop; ideal if you have forgotten something. My husband enjoys picking up a coffee when he's staying in our cottage. Useful and convenient.

Great village shop, stuffed full of everything you need. Can do a full shop here, so great for when you are on holiday in the village or a resident - no need to go outside the village. Sells fresh veg, canned goods, condiments, bread, flour, cakes, biscuits, crisps, sweets, fantastic frozen pies and meat products (locally produced and made), pickles and sauces, household products ,personal products, toiletries and medicines. Also cards and quality gifts and sundries such as torches, sewing kits, and much more. If you request a particular product line the owner will do her best to supply it in the shop. Can buy freshly made sandwiches, baked potatoes and panninis as takeaway or sit in for a lunch or afternoon tea in the tearooms - upstairs or in courtyard. I am a regular customer of both the shop and cafe.

As we were staying locally we bought items in the shop several times during the stay, w on my own one morning I enjoyed a latte in the café upstairs. Staff were helpful, the menu has a variety of choices for cakes, light bites etc, to take away or eat in. staff were always helpful and service was prompt, the shop itself stretches further back than you think looking at the outside. We also enjoyed 2 slices of takeaway Bakewell tart another day.

Really lovely food, you wouldn't know it from the outside/inside - it's like any other pub but the food was really good. Had the best dessert - rice pudding with apple and nuts - to die for.

We started our day here and enjoyed a light bite choice off the menu and a drink, the place was really cozy and funky, had a good selection of food and drink on offer and I would happily visit again. The food cost us £19 and a large wine & pint came to £11
