I had heard good things about the brownies from Peak Feast from my family and I had a chance to try them for myself on a recent trip home to the area. It was quite late in the day when we got there so they didn’t have the full range of flavours on offer but it still proved to be a difficult choice 😁 After a lot of prevaricating I eventually chose the Toblerone brownie and I have to say it was delicious - rich, gooey and chewy on the inside and crispy on top. I have it on good authority that the Turkish Delight brownie is heavenly as is the Twix one. I have my eye on the ginger or orange one for next time! They do really good Homity Pies for a picnic too and we’ve enjoyed them in the past whilst walking in the area. Definitely worth seeking out this little place if you’re in the area.

We stumbled upon this cafe during our 50 mile ride around the Peaks. A great find for us as its a vegetarian cafe and most of us are Muslims, so not really vegetarians, we just can't eat non-halal meat. The food was great because its proper hearty food which we needed during our tour. Wonderful table service and quick from the two ladies who run the cafe. Lots of space to sit and eat outside and park our 11 bikes too. A real gem of a find for us on this route.

After reading the reviews I was keen to try. I desperately want to stay positive, but believe in being honest. We just had cold drinks and brownies, which were acceptable, but maybe not a true representation of all that is on offer. The cakes are absolutely delicious here (we had carrot and coffee with walnut). It is first and foremost a bakery so inside space for customers is minimal - you can see what's on offer and take it outside to eat (with a drink; they sell those too!). There is no indoor seating. This is a proper bakery supplying cafes and restaurants throughout the Peak District that has decided to let you eat here in the sheltered outdoor area and if you do, you won’t be sorry. A pie devised and crafted by a true master of the pie making art, to my mind, a sacred art. This means a perfect combination of thin, excellent pastry, tasty and well-seasoned filling of the right consistency and of a generous size, which I soon would be if I lived within daily driving distance of this fragrant pie heaven.

Ideal if you are self catering and don't really want to spend too much time cooking - simply add rice (that we bought form the Post Office / Store down the road). This little cafe, with outside seating only at the time, was our favorite stop for lunch. If you get there at just about noon there are warm homity pies coming from the oven and they quickly became our favorite local food and we took several home to heat up at homes as well. Made from a potato, onion, and leek mixture with spices and cheese, backed in a shall, this mouthwatering treat was a large lunch, and with a side of salad, one was enough for two modest appetites. A lovely place to park your weary legs after a walk up into youlgreave. Homitty pie was delightful. A lovely deli with outside seating. Glad the pub had stopped starving ;-).

Peak Feast is a bit hidden in Youlgrave, but worth the effort to find (it's signposted and a short walk up a slight incline).

This is not a restaurant. It’s a bakery where you can get a coffee and buy some of the lovely cakes, pies etc. that are being made for local shops and other eateries,

Oh so yummy..... We had to go back here to buy some more brownies and treacle tart before we left the Peak District. The biggest choice in Brownies I have seen. My husband loved the Turkish Delight one, I loved the Cherry Bakewell, we both loved the toblerone and peanut butter ones. I wish they did delivery across to the other side of the country!

Unfortunately, from the reviews on TA, we had assumed this was a cafe and we arrived for a lunch on a very wet Monday. It is actually a bakery with a wooden bench outside and because of the weather, we obviously couldn't sit on this. However, we bought a homity pie to take home and a piece of cake, which were both very nice.

The smell of baking draws you in. We ate homity pie which was tasty & very welcome after our walk. We then couldn't resist the delicious Bakewell tart!! The coffee was also really good. The staff were very friendly & the sun shone! A lovely end to a gorgeous walk.

Stopped for a coffee and cake, after a long walk, were warmly welcomed to what looked like a converted industrial workshop. Was shown a mouthwatering range of unique home-made cakes. I opted for the raspberry and Turkish delight chocolate brownie - absolutely gorgeous! Sat outside and enjoyed every minute of this delicious surprise. Well worth a visit.

Tucked away up a small side street in Youlgreave is this hidden veggie gem. The Homity pie was delicious and enough to keep me going on a 16 mile walk!!! I also had the Bakewell tart and a chocolate and walnut brownie, both of which were lovely. So refreshing to find a thriving vegetarian business like this! Well worth a visit.
