This café has a charming small interior and some outside seating. We called in for a coffee break after some shopping. We enjoyed two cortados and the prices were reasonable.

Four of us had a nice day out in the Peaks,we were hungry and so Googled where to eat in Derby. Tarka stood out because of the excellent reviews,we weren't disappointed. The meal was really nice,but I've ate a lot of nice meals,this review is all about the excellent customer service we received. We'd ordered Roti with nans to follow. The nans took longer than expected,which wasn't a big deal really,but the managements response was. We were given complimentary Teas and a rice pudding dessert,they also apologised. The level of professionalism was bang on,exactly how you'd expect a well run establishment to react....and beyond. Would definitely recommend Tarka,especially Shiraz who went above and beyond.

The idea looked great. I have previously had hot stone meals, in a restaurant and so I thought we were in for an enjoyable and different night out. It WAS different. We seemed to wait endlessly for our food, and when it arrived it was a real let down. The "Posh Prawn Cocktail" was a split ciabatta with a whole lettuce leaf with about half a dozen prawns and some split cherry tomatoes covered in sauce". £9.50 for that. I know we cooked our own steak but frankly it was tough - not exactly top grade. We won't be bothering to go again.

Such a great restaurant . Great authentic taste . Great service . He received us in such warm fashion. Mr Ali Akbar is the owner of the Restuurant and a great human being . Definitely recommended.

Good atmosphere tonight. Nice outdoor seating in the Maytime sun. Food coming out of kitchen looked good. Service was friendly.

My friend & I had a lovely lunch at the International Cafe here today. The food was freshly cooked & delicious, the staff were friendly & attentive, & the cafe was spotlessly clean. It was very reasonably priced too. Thank you!

One of the best curry places I have had in the uk. Friendly service, attentive. Food is great. Himalayan lamb , tempura prawns , salt and pepper squid and garlic naan all amazing. A lot more value for money than the surrounding places too… Definitely be back anytime I am in Derby.

We came as two couples the room was cold and not very inviting as we did book another table over 4 weeks ago. We ordered the drinks and guess what they got those wrong. We all had starters after requesting for salt and pepper which was not even set out on our table. On the TURKEY ESCALOPES plate which two of us ordered for the main what looked and tasted like frozen peas and carrots. Portion size was only adequate at best. After not requesting for a dessert we had seen enough. I cannot remember such poor service poor food and poor value for money. Each couple paid £75 which was daylight robbery.
