Have been staying in region for many years and this was the best meal I’ve had. High quality and well cooked with an expert hand. Amazing variety and exemplary service. Will be back! Many thanks for a fabulous evening.

Our first time visit today in lapsi, our family enjoyed the food and taste was awesome. Devi service was really good, as a person she is a very nice and kind. We all felt very comfortable there. Overall, food taste fantastic.

This restaurant is easily my new favourite spot. For starters , we tried the chicken lollipop and fried Chicken momos which were so delicious and then for the main, we tried the Nepalese Fish curry with steamed rice .. definitely one of the best fish curry I’ve eaten in years . Can’t wait to come back to try more dishes . The staff is so friendly and very helpful . Definitely coming back soon.

If you are craving good Indo-Chinese food, this is the place to go to. I left this place happy and satisfied. Definitely coming back. Also Devi is super sweet and made our experience worth it.

Literally just finished a wonderful meal with a couple of mates. Friday night and unbelievably quiet in the restaurant, which gave us chance to speak with Devi, the manager. She's a delight, and made the evening even more memorable. Basically, great food, fabulous atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I highly endorse this restaurant. My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine and the atmosphere. As Nepalese individuals, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes and found them to be delicious with a flavorful taste. Puja, the host, was exceptionally amiable and attentive.

Just came in on my own as staying in nearby hotel. Owner very friendly. And Nepalese food very good!

I ordered the Thai green curry, what a waste of money! Just opened tub, and it's more of a soup!!! No meat really, counted three mushrooms, just sauce! Wish I could upload a photo on here! Don't waste your money.

Mmhmm is all I can say! We had such a wonderful meal at Lapsi, an authentic and personalized experience with expert recommendations and charming decor! Vegan and vegetarian friendly 🌱 The Veg Manchurian was incredible, if I ate that everyday for the rest of my life I’d die happy. Spicy for people who like spicy 🌶️

Absolutely fabulous in every way. The service was amazing; recommendations on point, lovely conversation and even some sharing of Nepalese music and culture. The Nepalese Curry was outstanding and the Veg Manchurian was so good it changed the way I look at myself and others. I literally left this restaurant left a better person than when I arrived <3

Absolutely spot on. Food was fantastic. Server was lovely. This place deserves to have it's praises sung, and be packed, and yet we were able to walk in. Please come and give this place some love so I can continue to enjoy it! Hot chicken momos were perfect, Himalayan lamb was fantastic. Never had spicy salad before, but that was also great. My new favorite restaurant.

What a hidden gem, from the kerbside this place does not have instant appeal but you will be very much surprised once you actually experience the service and food. It’s offers a cosy dining experience and the owner is very attentive and offers a personalised service, is friendly and chatty, makes you feel at home. She is very much a salt of the earth person. This place offers a varied menu (an indo chinese fusion). Every dish that we ordered from crispy duck to chicken noodle stir fry to butter chicken was cooked to perfection, very authentic and is some of best i have ever tasted. Please give this place a chance and i promise you will not be disappointed.

Such an amazing food probably the best Indian food in derby. I ordered food and opted for pickup but got late as I was travelling from Sheffield but they waited patiently and still gave me warm food. I highly recommend this place.

Some of the food was amazing, but I have never had peshwari on with strong cheese including in it before today. I went as part of a group of 19, and the service was horrendous. They were unable to manage our orders despite taking our individual names for each order. Starters came out within a quick time. However mains took ages and many accompaniments were not present and had to be ordered up to 5 times in repetition before they were delivered to the table. It is really sad that the quality of the food has been so denigrated by the poor service , when this was a pre-booking and there were only two tables other than ourselves within the restaurant prior to us, even receiving our main course.

We had a lovely dinner here, the food is excellent and clearly homemade, very flavorful. By far one of, if not the best indian/asian restaurant I've ever been to !

Food was delicious and very authentic. The Maccha Ko Jhol was very tender with rich flavours, hitting the mark. Devi was very attentive and showed a lot of interest, probably as we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. I hope to see the menu flourish and diversify further, as just because it is a multicuisine restaurant does not mean that the quality is substandard.

We had the most wonderful dining experience at The Lapsi Spice last night: a warm welcome, attentive service and really delicious food. Devi was a delight and made us feel very special. The menu is unique and varied, and the meals we chose reflected that diversity very successfully. We shall be going back as often as we can!

Food is by far the best I've ever had in derby/UK. I had himalayan lamb with usual acompliments and was amazing. Now for the slight downsides, the service was a little slow as we waited about 45 minutes for our food and there was only 3 tables in use. I had to go to the bar to get my beer as I'd asked for it at the table twice and nothing was coming my way. Lastly I paid £41 for my meal which consisted of himalayan lamb, garlic rice, garlic nan( didn't arrive to start with as they had forgot) portion of chips, 2 poppadoms and pickle tray and 2 cobra beers. Definitely will go back though as the food was amazing so was worth the odd mistake. 5* food !

Best Indian/Asian cuisine I've had in the UK by far. The Indian menu is separate from the main menu and you may need to ask. Being used to Indian cuisine around the world. I'm not a fan of the sweet curries in the UK. But ask for the Indian style and you get some of the best flavourful food you can get. Garlic Naan was fresh, crispy and flavourful. Excellent. Will definitely be back. Service was great as well.

If you're looking for a fantastic place to eat out in Derby, you need to try Lapsi Spice. The food is amazing, along with the atmosphere. The hospitality is second to none with very friendly and helpful staff.

Paid a visit to Lapsi Spice this evening 11/10/23 after hearing about and reading the reviews left by other visitors. It was very pleasant experience, I was attended to by the lovely waitress/hostess Devi who did her up most to make me feel comfortable which to me is Very important. I ordered Himalayan Lamb egg fried rice and a cheese naan, I enjoyed it all especially the naan that was piping hot and packed with cheese, the lamb was very flavoursome in a rich medium hot sauce ( I wish I'd ordered hotter for my personal taste) but all in all the whole meal was very nice. So I would recommend a visit to others. And at a price of £20 I was satisfied. Thank you Devi for your hospitality.

Amazing food and service! We had the chilli fried mogo for the starter which was incredible, Fish curry (macha ko jhol) was the best I’ve ever had and the Himalayan lamb was really tasty too. We’ll be coming back for sure.

This place is amazing! Front of house, servers, chefs & of course the food is fantastic - and a fraction of the price of the options around the corner 👍 Visited after pub closing time. The staff had finished and were having a meeting when we arrived. They jumped up, restarted the kitchen and couldn't have been more helpful 😁

Having the best equipment and decorations would not matter a restaurant is unable to prepare and serve food. A good restaurant knows how to purchase, preserve and prepare food to make sure its customers are being served the best quality dishes. The same thing is in Lapsi spice Multicuisine restaurant. I had an amazing experience with this. The product was exactly what I was looking for. I was so pleased with the service I received from this. Moreover, I really love their food that's why every weekend I visit Lapsi. I highly recommend everyone to visit there and enjoy their amazing food.

I enjoyed a fantastic meal with work colleagues. I tried all the dishes on the table and all were so full of flavour. The himalayan lamb curry was definitely the highlight tho. We will be returning again this week for more great food and the service and hospitality was spot on. Highly recommended.

What an absolute gem of a restaraunt! Himalayan Lamb curry was superb, chilli fried mogo excellent, the garlic naan was perfect and the service was very good. I had lots of questions about the menu but nothing was too much trouble and everything was explained to me. Will definately be back to eat here again.

Right from the moment we walked in, we couldn't of asked for anything more, from the service to the food was amazing and it is definitely a place we will be coming back to, if you don't try it, you are missing out on so much, we are full with food, drinks and thefront of house host interacted with us from the minute we stepped in up until the moment we left.

My partner is Thai and like spicy.not many non Thai people get it right.but this restaurant excited are expectations.very good if your party likes different options.

I went with my friends with excitement to have Indian Cuisine. And I must say that the food was awsum. We order Veg Manchurian, Momos , Chicken Lollipop etc. My stomach was full but my heart was not. I loved the taste madly...

Indo Chinese is a cuisine invented in Kolkata by Chinese immigrants improvising with local ingredients and adapting flavours to the local palate. While widespread in India, it is exceedingly rare to find a restaurant in the UK serving this cuisine. I have ventured far and wide, but the nearest restaurant I have found offering competently prepared Indo Chinese is in London. Lapsi spice is a rare and precious find, serving excellent Indo Chinese fare. I have sampled their Talumein soups, their Manchurian chicken, their Chinese chopsuey and am happy to confirm they are faithful to the versions I have enjoyed on the subcontinent. I was thrilled to have their Manchow soup, a true likeness that I have never experienced in 15 years living in the UK. I hope Derby will patronise, cherish and protect this rare and valuable treasure.

A simple restaurant with emphasis on service and tasty food! I ordered the Nepalese Lamb curry with Naan bread (someone previously wrote sbout the dish!) and it was delicious. The lady was so attentive and charming and the fennel seeds with sugar were a delight after the meal. The menu is pan asian so if you can't agree where to go then this is the place for everyone to find something! Next time I visit Derby I'm going back!

Amazing food and very friendly service. Some specialities here that you won't find elsewhere in Derby. Especially the new Nepalese menu has some real delights. Cobra on draught and decent wine at the right temperature.

Didn’t expect the food to be as good as it was. Really good quality ingredients. The fried chicken momos as a starter was divine offering a less rubbery alternative to what I’m used to. The meat puri was also a great starter. Could have easily eaten a larger version of both as a main. Wish we’d been more adventurous with the mains but had a lamb and veg biryani which were superb with fantastic raita that was garnished with pomegranate. With the bill you get fennel seeds and rock sugar rather than a chocolate. Thought it was very cheap for such decent portions of very good food, friendly and knowledgeable staff made us feel welcome. Would recommend.

Tasty curry and good naan but the Egg Fried Rice has onion in it which meant I had to throw it away.

I longed to have curry and found this Nepalese restaurant in google with very high rating. So why not give it a shot? I was welcomed by a very friendly lady and exotic BGM. I tried curry mutton with garlic naan. The rating truly reflects the taste of the food which is really good. The Nepali Saunf (fennel seeds) at the end did fresh my mouth after the strong taste food and they are good for health too!

We decided to go out for a meal with friends between Christmas and New Year and thought we would try somewhere new. We were very warmly welcomed at Lapsi Spice, the food was excellent and at a reasonable price. We will definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

The best Asian food in Derby I have tried, lovely staff and nice place as well. I must come again when I do the business trip in Derby.

Its a newly opened restaurant but my experience was not that great. There were low on staff and the dishes were served late.I didn’t had great experience Taste wise as well . This may be because I went in very initial days and I may update my experience if I visit again but the first impression was not great.

We went to Lapsi yesterday for lunch and parked on the side street next to the restaurant. We were welcomed on arrival by Pooja the owner who was very nice and hospitable. Menu was explained etc we ordered a butter chicken and a Nepalese chicken curry with chapati (no nans available at lunch), we also ordered a green salad and two cokes. The food was full of flavours and amazing, presentation was great and the butter chicken in particular was gorgeous. The only negatives were that we were charged £3.99 for a salad and the coke at £2.99 a glass should at least be served from a glass bottle or can not a 2 litre bottle. All in all however great food and I can’t wait to go again as they are looking to add to their menu.

Me and mate had a wonderful evening here with delicious food and welcoming customer service and a discount too. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

My family and I recently visited Lapsi Spice in Derby. We can not speak highly enough about the food here. We heard the chef has over 25+ years experience (in Michelin star restaurants too) and you can tell. The food was absolutely incredible. So flavoursome and looked incredible. What I also liked, was how the owner who took our order asked us about spice levels we liked so they could be accommodated. For example, my husband likes lots of spice, I am quite mild as is my 8 yo daughter. These were noted and accommodated! Incredible service. My daughter said the chicken lollipops were the best she has ever tasted. Well done Lapsi Spice, we will definitely be back with friends. Without a doubt, we recommend this venue 5 stars.

We visited recently and we really enjoyed our food. The service was courteous, and the food was top-notch (this is coming from an Indian). There was a 50% opening discount, but the food would have eminently been value for money even at full-price. We will be returning!
