The best restaurants in South West Parishes Amber Valley East Midlands

We had a large party of 11 people, the restaurant was very busy! George the waiter in charge of our table was amazing! It was a very enjoyable experience and a lovely surprise birthday brownie with happy birthday decorated beautifully beside it for our friend whose birthday it was. So thank you very much!

Had a lovely meal and I fully recommend The Cock - Mugginton. If there was one minor downside there was no beef bourguignon option when we visited. We ate inside but the garden and pods looked good options. I will definitely come back in the future.

Fantastic please to eat. Some of the best food I’ve had. Place to charge your car as well. Bonus.

Possibly not the best idea to visit for lunch after a heavy Friday night! Great looking place very popular and lots of parking spaces gents. Lots of staff whizzing (or was that me) around all over. Very quick service. Everyone on the table enjoyed their food.

Excellent service and very pleased to see a dog free area , imho all eating out establishments should be assistance dogs only .

Great hotel. Had many lovely stays here although it is now called Tyger Inn.

We have been coming to the Mundy arms for years since moving to the Derby area and We are all gutted to hear it's closing, especially since its the best we've know it in all the years we've been coming. The current staff are head and shoulders the best they've ever been. Service is exceptional, genuine friendly staff who aren't putting on faces, they are happy to be there and that is something that any pub would kill to have. We wish them all the best in the future. The only disappointing things is that we found out the pub was closing via email and Facebook the Friday 12th before they shut on the Sunday 14th. This seems very short notice for all involved. We came here for a family meal, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond, providing the most attentive service we’ve ever received. There was a real family feel to the place, making us feel so welcome. A special mention to the lovely fashionable young lady behind the bar, who was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the red wine selection, her knowledge and recommendations were spot on! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and the portion sizes were very generous. Overall, a fantastic dining experience, and we’ll definitely be returning!

We used to visit here regularly for lunch when we lived in Derby, but now we live in Suffolk and do not get up to Derby as often as we would like due to family issues. We visited here after an 18 month gap and found the Cafe to still be as good as it always was. Friendly helpful staff and the only place we have ever been where they always have several choices of Gluten free cake for my partner. (every where else, starts off with good G/F cake and on the next visit they have none) We have never been disappointed here. Maybe we should consider retiring back to Derby? We had a very enjoyable lunch, thank you.

I've been going to Rumbles since I moved into Glemsford around 2 years ago and it's always been a great experience. As others have said best to order in advance on Fridays and Saturdays as they do get busy. Also be prepared to undo your belt, the chip portion sizes are mahoosive. Personally never had a bad experience there and the staff are all friendly and happy.
