The best restaurants in South West Parishes Amber Valley East Midlands

We were in the more old fashioned pub area which was very cosy and nicely decorated. Food was excellent and they provided a birthday treat for my sister for free. We had a lovely time over all.

I arranged a family get-together and the Den was ideal. Abbi and Pippa were helpful and friendly when I was deciding on the room and the choice of food. On the day, Ben was polite and friendly, delivering the food and drinks on time. The food itself was excellent. Altogether, a super venue.

Had to wait over an hour for our food. The waitress came over after 50 minutes and told one of the party that they would have to change their coeliac order. The steak on the steak frites was fatty and chewy. The brussel sprouts were like rocks and impossible to cut. Has the venue had a change of chef? Felt sorry for the waitress who was left in a difficult situation.

Brilliant place, so relaxed, hosts can't do enough for you.. my daughter's wedding was fantastic... Ideal venue...💐🍾👰🤵🥂xx

Excellent service and very pleased to see a dog free area , imho all eating out establishments should be assistance dogs only .

Two different menus rather confusing - picked up the wrong one and missed having lunch!!

Great hotel. Had many lovely stays here although it is now called Tyger Inn.

We have been coming to the Mundy arms for years since moving to the Derby area and We are all gutted to hear it's closing, especially since its the best we've know it in all the years we've been coming. The current staff are head and shoulders the best they've ever been. Service is exceptional, genuine friendly staff who aren't putting on faces, they are happy to be there and that is something that any pub would kill to have. We wish them all the best in the future. The only disappointing things is that we found out the pub was closing via email and Facebook the Friday 12th before they shut on the Sunday 14th. This seems very short notice for all involved. Very noisy. Dreadful chips. No staff asked if everything was OK. Sat for half an hour waiting for table to be cleared ,to maybe get offered dessert menu, but no, lady from the bar was to busy talking, leaving a gentleman waiting and us to pay our bill. Won't be returning!!!

We used to visit here regularly for lunch when we lived in Derby, but now we live in Suffolk and do not get up to Derby as often as we would like due to family issues. We visited here after an 18 month gap and found the Cafe to still be as good as it always was. Friendly helpful staff and the only place we have ever been where they always have several choices of Gluten free cake for my partner. (every where else, starts off with good G/F cake and on the next visit they have none) We have never been disappointed here. Maybe we should consider retiring back to Derby? We had a very enjoyable lunch, thank you.

I've been going to Rumbles since I moved into Glemsford around 2 years ago and it's always been a great experience. As others have said best to order in advance on Fridays and Saturdays as they do get busy. Also be prepared to undo your belt, the chip portion sizes are mahoosive. Personally never had a bad experience there and the staff are all friendly and happy.
