We had a large party of 11 people, the restaurant was very busy! George the waiter in charge of our table was amazing! It was a very enjoyable experience and a lovely surprise birthday brownie with happy birthday decorated beautifully beside it for our friend whose birthday it was. So thank you very much!

Lovely atmosphere. Staff very attentive and helpful. They had a separate gluten free menu with a good selection of options. Lots of parking too.

Good experience overall though not great for children. We came with a 2 & 5 year old. The knives and forks are full size adult forks, no appropriate drinks for them (fruit shoots etc) - they had apple juice but that came in a full size adult glass, we had to ask for straws to make it manageable, the seating was also poor for children and left them too far away from the table without trapping in the adult (we were on the central benches).

I’ll keep it simple - 1 hours wait for overpriced food. Lovely building and decent atmosphere but left my group waiting for so long, brought out meals that were missing items and just simply not worth £15+. The burgers in particular are very lacking. Probs the last time I’ll be here

Honestly if I had the option to give 0 stars I would, in the 24 years of my life I have never encountered such poor customer service the old bag who runs the place must’ve woke up the wrong side of the bed, much better customer service at a kebab shop from someone who doesn’t speak a word of English.

The place was really nicely set out, the atmosphere was great, it was really clean and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. The burger we ordered was ok but the mixed grills were really disappointing. The meat wasn't great and tasted cheap which wasn't far off Weather Spoons quality but at least it cost 70% less there. The peppercorn sauce was also very poor.

I quote my husband "the worst burger I've had in my life". Very bland, overpriced, slightly cold. No love or imagination in the good. Destinctly average service.

First time visit. Won't be happening again. Avoid. Overpriced, arrogant staff and a terrible experience.

We book every year and have never had a bad experience. Even when there issues the staff accommodate for it. The food is top notch 👌

We had a lovely family visit to the Farmhouse. We thought the atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly & helpful and the food was delicious!

Staff all seemed like they were on work experience, with little guidance. Staff struggling to deal with the amount of customers. We were a party of 2, and both ordered the Sunday roast, opting for the trio of meats. At £19.29 a plate this is not a cheap meal. The beef was a little tough, the other meats ok. The roast potatoes were very anaemic, needed another 10 minutes at least, the vegetables were a little sparse. We realised that the advertised red cabbage was missing and brought it to staff’s attention. We were eventually told they had ‘run out of red cabbage’ but not offered any replacement. The whole meal was warm rather than hot. Overall, for the price paid, it was a poor effort.

Second visit and just as good as the first time. Absolutely lovely, will definitely come again. Great food and good portions. Served by George who was very friendly and provided really good service.

Went out for a quick meal somewhere we've never been before and this didn't disappoint! Lovely food and atmosphere, definitely will be returning.

Great feel to this place, very clean and decor seems to be kept in good shape. Food is great, nothing out of this world but I would definitely revisit as it’s fair priced. Coffee is delicious here! Only thing that let it down slightly is staff seemed to not cope too well when it gets busy. But they did try their best.

We had booked a table for 4:30PM, and were advised that you were running 30 mins late on food however our mains did not arrive until 6:30PM. I'd ordered the Seabass as it comes with king prawns but it didn't quite match the menu as they were small cocktail prawns, and no Kale or Mange tout instead there was just a pile of frozen veg on the side (small green beans and peas) and the pie tasted microwaved. The waiter did not advise of any change before it arrived, very confusing for a 2 hour wait! Thank you to the waiter who sorted out not charging for the pie and was trying his best but the main issue was the time to wait - as whilst we were there tables who came in after us were being served their food and leaving before us!

Terrible service, me and my partner sat at the bar where we normally sit and eat but on this occasion I asked the bar staff if we could have a menu and was refused to be given one as was told by Ellie they are not serving food in this area even though the majority of the surrounding tables people were sitting at had all ate and had cutlery and sauces that hadn’t been taking away, just to rub it in our faces. We then stood waiting to be seated for a table of 2 and was told they are fully booked, turned away by a male member of your staff. We was devastated to had experience this as we have came to eat and drink at this place around 10 times and never had a problem like this before. To make it worse we walked away and decided to book somewhere else, when we sat in another restaurant we checked to see if we could book in, there were slots too book all past 6:15pm up until shutting time. I then rang and spoke to Ellie, she did apologise but I couldnt understand anything explained, I don’t see how the restaurant can be this badly organised. As a customer service assistant in my job we listen to people and don’t turn people away and tell the truth instead of lying

Great food and service. I’ve been coming for years and have always been impressed.

Environment was good. Service a little slow although maybe down to Jake being the only one around and seemingly rushed off his feet. Had the whitebait although the fish was much larger than expected and therefore didn't have the crunch. Maybe my definition of whitebait is not the same as the chef's. The garlic mushrooms and bacon was good, the accompanying bread however had a brief encounter with a grill and therefore too floppy to use effectively. The mains of seabass and lamb rump/mini pie were OK but not anything special. The veg however cooked wel, not soggy and had some crispness.Potatoes could have been a little crisper. Coffee was OK. The wine list showed prices for 175ml, 250ml and a bottle. I asked for small and medium glasses and was presented with a 125ml and 175ml glass. Further reading of the wine list showed that a 125ml glass could be available but nowhere does the price appear. Overall an average experience.

1st time visitors whilst in the area. Popped in on spec. Download a discount code whilst there, to make it even better! Fantastic food, service (from Jake) and drinks. We will be back!

I've been coming here for years and it used to be my fav place to go to, in it's heydays. Sadly, I don't feel that this is the case anymore. The service, while friendly, was very slow and the place wasn't even full. Above all, the food was really uninspiring. The pizza was average. Not sure what has changed there exactly, but it just wasn't great. The chicken sandwich was a bit of a joke and reminded me of school dinner - rather than restaurant level food. Soggy, un-toasted, cheap white bread with an overfried chicken goujon in between. Just sad. Maybe I just had bad luck and came here on a bad day but I felt it was worth sharing my disappointment.

A beautiful night, with good quality and flavourful food. The service was just outstanding, our waiter for the evening was Emily, she was absolutely phenomenal she had excellent customer service and ensured everything was perfect for us. We will definitely be visiting again. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, perfect food, outstanding service and an all round great experience guaranteed.

The atmosphere was really nice as soon as we walked in. We were a bit early for our reservation but the staff seated us right away. The staff were very attentive and lovely. There is a great selection of food and really good looking vegan/vegetarian options as well! Our roasts were fantastic and the tasty desserts rounded off an excellent meal. We will most certainly be back!

This is now the second time of visiting here for Sunday lunch and certainly isn't our last time. The food was amazing, prices are great for the quality of food and atmosphere. Really nice place for a special occasion. Drinks are priced high but food is reasonable. Stayed over after a wedding and the facilities were excellent. Bead really comfy and shower spot on.

No available disabled parking spaces, the two near the door had cones in them. The only parking spaces available were near the Folly and not suitable for someone with mobility problems to walk without difficulty. A lot of items on the menu were sold out including steak and fish and chips. The chicken tikka masala was bland and unappealing. Won’t be in a hurry to return after this experience.

We had a fab Saturday lunchtime meal. The food was scrumptious and the staff were very friendly. There was a slight wait for our food but it was really tasty.

Came here a few weeks ago. Have been a few times before. Don’t really know any better options in the area. Food and service was very poor this time. My child’s macroni cheese was the smallest portion I think I’ve ever seen on a kids menu. Perhaps two dessert spoons of pasta. My poor child polished it off and was literally licking the bowl. I politely told the waitress that my child was still really hungry and it was the smallest portion I’d seen, even on a kids menu. Was there a mistake? I was met with a relatively rude response that it was “all decided in head office”. Eh? A gesture to get a tiny bit more for a very hungry child would’ve been appreciated. Even more so given the adult fish and chips was about the biggest portion I’ve seen. How odd. Appalling really, won’t visit again.

We were waiting a long time for our food to come out as they were a chef down. The server was amazing, very apologetic and offered us free puddings and a free round of drinks as an apology. The food was really nice, despite the long wait time we'll definitely be back

I arranged a family get-together and the Den was ideal. Abbi and Pippa were helpful and friendly when I was deciding on the room and the choice of food. On the day, Ben was polite and friendly, delivering the food and drinks on time. The food itself was excellent. Altogether, a super venue.

Went for an overnight work trip and from the evening meal to the stay to breakfast, it was all excellent. Every member of the team that we interacted with were friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for us. Louie served us for dinner so a special mention to him.

Really good food and excellent service. Just one small complaint is that the espresso martini was served in a wine glass and not a proper martini glass.

Disappointed the one real vegan choice of chickpea curry was unavailable, bit of a deal breaker really. It’s a ready meal. Surely we’d keep that In stock.

Can't fault this place, very well managed and run. Food was good, no one has any complaints about food or service. The only thing for me was that drinks were very expensive. If they could bring their prices down on their drinks then i would return.

I im never unhappy with the place ! The Sunday roast dinners are lovely apart from one thing! NEVER enough gravy! Had one yesterday, but honestly, it seemed like 2 spoon full of gravy was placed on my turkey that was it! But other than that the staff are always excellent! And very friendly

7 of us had a birthday meal for my daughter. Amazing service food too. Wonderful area we was sat so we could enjoy our chats away from everyone. Our waiter was brilliant he took her birthday cake away to light up and bought back in on a big board plates forks napkins and knife too. We left him a tip. Definitely returning. Thank again!

Great roast but waited 40 minutes for it! Beef was just ok; but turkey and pork leg were lovely. Everything else on the plate was nice, and when I asked for more gravy I got a huge boat full! Good value also. Would stop again but only if I'm in no hurry. Maybe it was Christmas busyness but still.. 40 minutes!

All staff were really polite and helpful even though it was really busy. I had the steak americano which was cooked to perfection, I don't usually have dessert but I had the caramel tart and it was also amazing. My friend had the vegan burger which she enjoyed but said it could use a bit of vegan mayo on because the bread was a bit dry from being toasted (hindsight we should have asked for some) she also had a dessert which was a vegan brownie and it was perfect.

Visited with friends. My starter of sticky chicken was grossly over cooked. My main Indian dish was nice, comprehensive and decent value. Service was good and the atmosphere lively.

Underwhelming. Visited for dinner midweek after being recommended but must say we were left disappointed, burger was ok but dry and bland and pizza came out cold, for saying we went on a quiet night we hoped for better for the price.

It was a great atmosphere, but it was very busy. We had to chase our drinks twice. One of our party had her starter served before drinks arrived. My main (seabass) looked like it had been sitting under a lamp for a while. The presentation was messy. The cheesecake tasted shop-bought. A great place to meet friends for a drink but I won't be rushing back for food.

Visited for a Christmas party eating off the set Festive Menu. I went to the bar on arrival and was greeted by really friendly bar staff. The atmosphere and decor was lovely. Easy to park. The food was all delicious, served hot and again, the staff were all friendly and attentive. Will return with my family and try the standard menu as I'm sure it will be equally good.

The staff were terrific and the food was superb. Unfortunately, the major talking points were the difficulty we had choosing our meals in advance on their Website then, at bill time, finding the information to be in a completely different format. There were a couple of discrepancies and the staff worked very hard to sort them out but it took a while due to cross-referencing. The restaurant is easy to access, which was most appreciated as Storm Darragh was at full force, and there was ample parking. We would have not been surprised if we had been met with a shortage of staff but, despite the elements, they were there to look after us. As we hadn’t seen each other for a while there was a lot of catching up but there was no pressure on us to sit at the table. We were served to drinks promptly. My pâté starter was delicious and the steak and ale pie was even better. The short pastry base, flakey top containing a rich meaty filling were perfect. The only problem with the desert (cheesecake) was that it was a bit of a struggle following the first two courses, but I managed, eventually. Will I go back? Despite the hour and a half drive, yes.

The Farmhouse is really cosy for such a large pub. It has lots of different rooms, each with their own ambience and suitable for small or large groups. I love the library dining room with books hanging from the ceiling. It is a bit dark in some places, which I suppose adds to the ambience but not great when trying to read a menu. Good food, with lots of different menu options at the moment (Christmas), lovely staff, good parking. Overall, it's a lovely place to eat and drink.

Busy but the staff managed to find us a table at short notice. We all had a roast dinner. The slight disappointment was that the roast potatoes had been reheated. Other than that, all was lovely. We Will return.

The experience was really great from the start to end. Our server was lovely and helpful, especially considering the size of our group. They were very accommodating to changes in the food requirements and very helpful. The food came out very quickly and everyone in the group really enjoyed their food, it was a very pleasant surprise as none of the group had visited before! Overall it was a really positive experience for everyone and I will be sure to visit again soon!

It was great! Booked a table online and was there less than two hours later. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious! We were having a family meal and we ordered from the Sunday roast and regular menu and it was all great!

The roast beef was perfectly cooked, as was the Sea Bass. Best of all was the friendly welcome from all the staff we met and excellent, genial service from our waiter Olly.

Considering its the run up to christmas we didnt know how they had so much energy! First visit as a central meeting place for our friends and ourselves. Everything lived up to the reviews about the place we had seen, lovely venue, food and service. Verity served us and was excellent. She heard my friend and I talking about our soon to be 70th birthdays and surprised us with a birthday platter of ice cream and brownie. Above and beyond service. We will certainly visit again, worth the 50 minute journey from Rugeley.

Visited on a Monday night with a friend. Was told server was being shadowed by a trainee which I thought was the right way to go about it - letting us know. Food was decent, service was prompt and welcoming. Credit where it’s due, they did well!
