Great little store, with some beautiful coffee & cakes! Has two little table & chairs on the high street which was welcome after a busy morning at Pride!

Why does the coffee machine stop being served from 4pm due to cleaning when shop shuts @ 5pm. Does it really take 1hr to clean when all others Birds (Littleover, Sinfin) don't have this issue! You are loosing sales here, am sure the machine could be left overnight to clean or early morning prior to opening! Also, the this shop has a lot of flies for some reason, maybe some cleanliness issue.

I don’t know what has happened with the staff at this place but I have never met a more miserable bunch. And the one that served us today was a huff away from rolling her eyes every time we asked for something. She kept going to the till and totalling it up before we’d even had chance to finish our order and ask for anything else. Additionally I expect the staff to know the difference between a steak slice and a lamb and mint slice and not begrudge being asked. I think her ponytail must have been stopping her from smiling but I’m not sure what excuse the others had. It’s such a shame that this is our local birds, in such a nice village they’ve managed to make it an awful experience to visit. Additionally as a general rule the staff are more interested in nattering that serving and when you're nipping out on a lunch break and there's a queue up the street that's less than ideal. Diabolical

Tasty pastry at a reasonable price. ☺ I recommend checking their products on the website first so you already know what to order when you get to the bakery.

Nice bakery with a good selection of cakes, bread was labelled up wrong so ended up with something different to expected and no steak slices but still good food at a good price.

What can I say. Its Birds. You know what you are getting. Amazing food from sausage roll to fresh bread to cream cakes it's all delicious. The are friendly and are always happy to help. Parking can be an issue in Duffield. If you are lucky there may be spaces outside the shop. I have never had and probably will never have anything bad to say about Birds. It has been a staple in my childhood through to adulthood. If you are local or just passing through make sure to stop at Birds for a treat.

Not from this area and have discovered Bird's bakery today. I like it. A good range of cakes and bread. And unusually, some sausages and "beef paste". Fresh coffee to take away. And friendly service. It seems they are a small chain in Derbyshire. I'd come again when I'm next in the area.

Lovely chicken/ham/turkey salad cobs made to order and I always ask for some salad cream too. Yum ! And their loaves are delicious. Caramel donuts are to die for. What's not to like!?

They have the nicest eclairs! No review needed to tell locals how good Birds is, but if you're visiting the area, I throughly recommended getting food from here rather than a Greggs!

A lovely pub, very busy when I popped in with my dog which is always a good sign. The beer was great and with the log fire going, was a proper country pub vibe. Definitely recommend a visit

Simply the worst fish and chips I have ever purchased. I'll not say eat as I didn't get that far. They went in the bin. Arrived at tea time. Not busy. Ordered mini fish meal with curry. Told me the fish would be fried fresh. I didn't see the fish and chips being wrapped. I was stood outside the shop, collected my order and travelled the short distance home. My suspicions should have been aroused by the amount of oil that was seeping through the wrapping paper onto the mat on my van floor. On unwrapping, the fish was a burnt brown colour, soaking in oil with not a hint of crispness to the batter. The oil that was not soaked in the fish was the colour of, well I've seen cleaner oil come out of a gearbox. Chips were soggy, oily and again awful. All this for £11. I'm not sure but if you order the items individually it is cheaper. I'll not be checking as never going back.

Quick visit for a pint on an autumn evening. It was on my list to visit, but had to make a special effort as it doesn't open until 4.30 pm midweek. It was worth the effort. Good real ale. Nice fire. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly barman.
