Pleasant staff clean shop…let down by the mini fish and chips for £4.99 I ask if it’s cod get told yes and it was haddock got a refry and it was haddock again

Was driving along back to Bexhill from Eastbourne and wanted somewhere easy to get to for breakfast. Truly Scrumptious is next to lots of parking for the other shops at Ravenside, so not a problem parking up. Two lovely ladies, order for a bacon roll with or without onions and/or sauce. Very friendly service, early morning smiles, thank you ladies. Probably one of the best bacon rolls I have had. Coffee was excellent too. Reasonable price as well. Setting me up right for my day. Will definitely return as their hotdogs are great as well

Izzak Walton Brewhouse. I attended a charity event in the bar. Sadĺy, the Brewhouse is closing.

Well you can tell they are closing down tomorrow! Thought we’d treat ourselves to breakfast. Although we booked by email when we got there the lady said oh I haven’t opened my emails! Breakfast came! I asked for no beans but nothing extra to make up for them, my husbands bacon was so well done it had bits of black underneath we had 1/2 a cherry tomato each & this is were it’s really bad! Asked for white toast instead of coming on a separate plate it was already ‘buttered’ & so pale it had hardly seen a toaster! We then thought we’d take a cake home with us no selection like before so we asked for a slice of cheesecake & we got a piece so small was hardly big enough for one person!! We never got asked if everything was ok!! We certainly won’t be going to the new shop in cleethorpes!!!

Again lovely fresh hot food. Both the mix kebab starter and the chicken vindaloo was delicious. Very good quality and quantity.

Justo lo que quería 🙂 Visitó York hoy (25 / 01 / 2025 ) bastante imprevisto, última hora, sólo para un cambio de escenario. Fue tan difícil en York encontrar un lugar donde pudiera estar cómodo solo, había planeado leer mi libro, sin embargo, había algunos habituales allí que estaban hablando, y hablando conmigo, pero de cualquier manera, realmente disfruté de mi visita. No quería un café lleno de caos, así que este me sentó de maravilla. Lo bueno era delicioso y justo, la taza de té estaba golpeando. *Rara vez me aventuro desde mi casa a menos que sea para ir a trabajar, así que hoy fue uno nuevo para mí, pero una experiencia muy agradable. Completamente fuera de mi zona de confort hoy, pero la cafetería era brillante, recomendaría.

This was our third visit to the restaurant - the food was delicious and the service excellent. Staff were very attentive throughout the meal making our evening very enjoyable nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

Dropped in for dinner after driving up to Leeds for work. It was a Monday night so quite quiet, although they obviously do a roaring trade on Deliveroo. I plumped for the meal deal "All In". Unfortunately they didn't have the biscoff shake, so just went with the soda. The burger was cooked fresh and tasted ok, the issue I had was that the chips and chicken that came with the meal ended up being cold which ruined what could have been a pretty decent burger.

Ordered food at 6.30, called them at 8pm and was told they had just received order. Food arrived extremely late even though the app said it was delivered at 19.40pm. Terrible experience

This will probably turn out to be of my shortest reviews, (for all those that have kindly followed my longer Feature Travel articles posted here on-line over the years), but the 'comparative' brevity of my write-up here is probably in direct relation to the wee size of this fabulous little cafe..! 😊 I first stumbled on the Antelope Cafe many years ago when visiting the Salisbury Antiques Emporium in the centre of this famous & most evocative Wiltshire City and was really taken by the 'quaint gentility' of it, tucked away on the top floor..and was immediately struck by the companionable near-silence as couples, friends & singletons quietly chatted over their coffees or sat happily reading their newspapers or books over their interesting snacks..! Not surprisingly, to my eyes the Antelope Cafe has all the wonderful appearances of an old-fashioned reading room..with snacks..and I just loved it..as obviously do the regulars who I have spotted there over the years, all taking a quiet step back from the hubbub of the street-lined cafes & eateries that festoon this wonderful City below us! Here, especially on a freezing January day outside, to venture into the warmth, bag a little table and have a wonderful cuppa or partake of some of the interesting snacks on the specials boards is obviously such a joy..and you'll soon feel miles away from the bustle of daily life! 👍 The owner & her lovely wee band of helpers are just superb..very kind & very attentive and this all adds to the most enjoyable 'old world vibe' of this little top floor haven...and my additional pleasant surprise was just how good the teas are... served, as they are, in wonderful china mugs..and tasing like real tea should do! I don't know if Salisbury's water is different to anybody else's' but I surely know that, normally being a tried & trusted coffee drinker only, I was initially bought a cuppa by a pal many moons ago and have to say that I've never enjoyed a mug of tea as much as I have here at the Antelope..and one day, when time permits, I really must make the time to stay a while longer and try out the smashing wee menu too. With the very obvious loyal clientele I have spotted partaking of lunches or afternoon teas here in that amazing peace & quiet of the top floor, I worried before putting pen to paper, (or fingers to keyboard), in case too much additional publicity might run the risk of potentially spoiling the very welcome ambience for those myriad regulars..of all ages.. by bringing in a wave of new customers... and the little secret here that the many locals keep, will be possibly marred by it becoming another 'fast food coffee outlet' and so potentially spoiling the lovely, rarefied atmosphere..! But on reflection, I now doubt that as this is a very special little place indeed..and judging by the amazing map & pin-board by the door, charting the many welcome international visitors who have happily found their way to this wee top floor cafe and contentedly shared it with the regulars, (and vice-versa), I feel this happy state of affairs will continue for as long as this fabulous little cafe exists..and long may that be! 👍 Thank you Antelope Cafe! 😎
