The best restaurants in England

Went here for the first time with my husband to celebrate my birthday. For a Friday evening it was quite quiet when we got there and got a table suitable for my needs easily. It then quickly started to get busy. I use crutches to help get around and the table we had meant I could put my sticks close by without being in anyone's way. We had a main dish each and shared some sides. Food arrived piping hot and so flavoursome. Service was really good. Definitely value for money.

Horrifying Stay – Bed Bugs! I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. We booked to stay at this hotel. Check in was fine and we dropped our bags in the room and went straight out. We arrived back at the room at 12:30am and found bed bugs in the bed/mattress. Absolutely disgusting. We immediately went to the desk and requested to be moved only to be told there were no other rooms available. We were told at check in reception was open 24 hours however it was only security on the desk when we went to speak to them. Security rang the manager Meg who seemed indifferent and offered no real apology or refund. Her solution was to give us access to the linen closet to re-make the bed ourselves and a discount on our next stay. This was completely unacceptable and we had to arrange alternative accommodation. I expect basic cleanliness and hygiene from any lodging, and this was a complete failure. Not only is it unsanitary, but it’s a health hazard. I had to wash and disinfect everything I brought with me, and I'm still dealing with the aftermath despite not evening staying in the room itself. Avoid this place at all costs.

Food is always good chips not always some times very white and lots of ends but potatoes are up and down so not there fault to be fair but lately been 3 times now every time the don’t have haddock saying can’t get it hard to believe when other fish&chip shops have it so very strange so unfortunately will be using chip shop on North Shields fish quay has I can’t ever seam to get my order from willow very disappointed 😔

Had a truly great experience at this restaurant last Friday, stunning building/style, you could see out to the beautiful rolling hills from our table and the food matched this, some really nice touches like aquaponic harvested asparagus and a lot of local herbs produce, the baked from the bread table was divine, also had probably the best cooked steak I can remember. Emma who looked after us, knew pretty much everything about all the food and where it came from and it’s story which was really cool to listen to.

Just had an amazing meal for my 60th at estabulo! Both Tom & Brennan, were exceptional at table service and were soooo friendly and helpful. All the food was amazing, but husband was nearly crying when they told him there was no garlic bread! 🤣🤣 bless!

Excellent food and excellent value for money. I’d probably criticise them for not upping the price and pay the staff some more. Ali and Tahla were excellent

Great place for a wedding or just a stay at the weekend

Had eggs royale on Saturday. Told the guy ( Robbie?) it was too cheap and restaurant quality. So good I dragged chef back to try it today because I wanted to see what he thought - and it was excellent again - we agreed that dish would be £s more in another setting!! Well done Robbie and team.

We had a beautiful meal at this pub today. All staff were so pleasant and friendly and couldn’t do enough to make it such a lovely experience. Lovely choice of food, very nicely cooked and served in a cosy but roomy environment. Dog friendly too!! We loved it.

In a street filled with restaurants, which one would you choose? So my housemate recommended we eat here. We were starving and our order was going to take about 30 minutes. The wait was worth it. So we ordered grilled pork steak. It is saigon style chargrilled pork steaks. I can taste a hint of lemongrass that adds freshness contrasting the smokey flavors of the steak. It was served with its own nuoc mam dipping sauce which is a combination of sweet sour spicy salty and savoury flavours. We also shared a bowl of their house special Beef Tendon - it is rice noodles in lemongrass soup with a hot and spicy beef broth, slow cooked beef, sliced short ribs and tendons. Texture play was there. The broth was clear, clean, beefy, herby and comforting. We also had the Ca Phe Muoi (Vietnamese salted coffee) - oh so perfect and refreshing. It was creamy and sweet and then a little bit of saltiness hits your tastebuds. Yes they accept credit cards and they have a loo.

Gorgeous meal out tonight with a friend. The lamb was beautifully cooked, nice coffee to end the night!

Been to this restaurant many times over the years and it’s always a favourite of mine … food is always well cooked and hot and just fabulous. Ambience is great and staff are so friendly and fun. A little gem and definitely worth a visit.
