Spices Restaurant in Bromsgrove

We came here for a mother's day meal with the ages of our table ranging from 2 to 82 and everyone was happy! The staff are warm and welcoming and they are friendly towards the children. The food was gorgeous and we can't wait to return

Beautiful food as always, friendly staff, and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended for both dine in and take out. Never had a bad meal!

We are not locally based but we did the food so hats of to the chef. However, we didn't really find our server/waiter polite, initially it was his general tone towards us. Yes we are of an asian origin but we didn't have any special requests or anything except for a ginger ale or orange juice that was on the menu. He told me very abruptly that I could only have lemonade or coke. After that, we felt to just leave and pay for the drinks. However we went ahead and ordered food. Wouldn't come here again and wouldn't recommend it either - sorry guys!

Great food,welcoming staff. licenced with good range of drinks. Decorated tastefully with christmas decorations. Reasonable price and free ice cream and chocolate mints. Look forward to going again soon.

terrible experience, was promised a replacement meal and was met with aggression from kids claiming to be the owner. Wont be ordering again.

Sadly food well below par. Mixed tandoori kebab, hardly anything. Portions tiny but a big bag of salad. The chicken tikka masala sweet, container big, which contained mainly sauce and 8 pieces of chicken, 5 were tiny pieces. £10.95 for CTM, and mixed kebab £6.95. Not worth the money. Ckn Balti was ok. Food not spicy, quite bland. Will need to find another indian.

Visited Spices for the second time yesterday. Enjoyed the first visit so tried it out once again with a couple of friends. Once again great food and great staff.

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Workers are pleasant and the food is simply delicious! I like the fact that you can choose to have it mild as I don’t like very spicy food .

Had a takeaway from here £42 for 2 main meals and a starter food was tasteless and dry will not revisit

My mouth was watering as soon as it hit the table so I started before taking photos #sorrynotsorry Food was delicious as always. Their takeaway is great and I highly recommend it but eating in certainly levels up the balti! A great place and lovely atmosphere with awesome food :)

Only five minutes off the motorway, we decided to make the short detour rather than eating service station food and so glad we did. We ate Tandoori King Prawn Biryani, the prawns were plentiful, tasty and succulent, and Bengal Fish Masala, a truly amazing dish, lots of fish and flavoursome. The chutney tray with the poppadoms was really nice with fresh onion salad and a fresh tamarind chutney in addition to mango chutney and yoghurt. Aside from the delicious food the waiters were true gentlemen. We shall be back.

I have just been to Spices in Catshill. I have not been there before. The food was stunning. I had Tandoori fish (Coley) followed by the spicy lamb and cabbage. The lamb was very tender. It was very tasty +++. I felt the lights were a bit bright and could have been dimmed a bit. That is just my personal opinion. I will definitely be coming back. Well done.

Ate here in December 2022, this is our favourite Indian restaurant in Bromsgrove, food is always delicious & service 100% highly recommended.

Absolutely awful .. the bill came to £40 for a takeaway .just 2 mains and one rice with soggy chips.. . awful main course and when called to ask for a replacement said they couldn’t do anything as it was ordered through just eat! Would never order or go here to eat

Just visited Spices,. Had a lovely evening. The Staff were very welcoming, friendly & attentive. Food was very tasty & fresh. Complimentary ice-cream, coffee & after eights. Can't wait to return.

as i was eating my food i felt something hard in my chicken to my horror i found a part of a broken plate in my mouth reported to the server for which they did apologise straight away and said my food would be free of charge but i was put off after having a part of a broken plate in my food and i decline more food and sat with my friends with just a drink overall a nice restaurant and this was a one off

Lovely welcome, the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a good time. Great food and wonderful service. Our veggie curries and accompaniments were very tasty and excellent value for money. We will definitely be going back.

Just orders a biriyani for my wife & my self it was our anniversary 17 years so we thought we’d celebrate with a curry, it was like eating crap on a plate - could of done better my self. Bland, no season, just liked it was made last night. When I phoned they said 20 mins, I have to flash it in the microwave because it was lukewarm, brings back memories - just like that other so called Indian up the road - both rubbish don’t waste your time with either of these places crap crap crap hope you enjoying reading these take your custom else where.

Haven't been here for years, and again it didn't disappoint. Great friendly service, fresh ingredients and even changed by Takka Dahl to homecooked! Hotter and thicker.

Quality curry and really nice staff

Visited here twice now and I couldn’t fault the food. However, when I took the children the second time, it wasn’t as great as the 1st. The young man who takes the orders is so helpful and explains everything. Nothing is too much! The food and service were great, but I was charged almost £4 for a glass of squash (made with tap water) The reason people go for squash for the kids is to keep cost down, but two glasses of squash and a lemonade cost £10! They should only charge for the cordial as tap water shouldn’t be charged. There was also only 1 high chair. So when another family arrived and needed the 1 I was using, I felt I had to rush. I can’t fault the food though! Not sure if I’d return.

Owner is rude, often cold as they refuse to put the heading on and poor atmosphere. The last two occasions we have been the only table dining.

Stopped here on route through Bromsgrove. Clean, friendly, ice cold cobra lager and amazing food. Cannot fault the restaurant and would definitely visit again.

Superb, found this restaurant by chance as staying in hotel up the road. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Good food, superb, fresh, authentic and top quality. They even serve an Indian Sauvignon, which is excellent. I highly recommend. My only complaint is that we do not live nearer. If ever passing, we will return.

I have been going here since moving near by in 2008 and have found the food and the staff first rate. I enjoy the take out service and always make time to enjoy a drink while waiting for my order. Everyone works well as a team and it's popularity is obvious if you sit any time in there as the phone hardly stops! My next experience I am looking forward to is to actually eat there as I know I will enjoy both the food and being made welcome. I would recommend Spices to anyone.

Having heard about how good this place is, I thought I would go and give it a try before work. Inside is your typical Indian restaurant with a bright and modern interior. I had the following: Mixed Starter: Chicken Tikka, Lamb Tikka, Sheikh Kebab, Onion Bhaji & Samosa All very tender and a perfect starter to get me going Main: Lamb Mutton Thawa (with Chapati) The restaurant kindly accomodated my request to make this hotter than it is as I love the spice and the way it is normally served doesn't cut the mustard sadly :) Perfect spice level for me it was Service was excellent. Tables were distanced with screens accordingly. Would recommend and come again 😊

Regulars here, first night out after 2 nd lockdown finished. Ordered food but noticed it was a bit cold in restaurant. We were the only table in ( 7.30PM) so walked round and noticed all the radiators were OFF. Mentioned to waiter & his colleague ( there were only 2 people serving ) several times about heating being off . They said would turn air con unit on ( mounted in ceiling above us) but didn’t. Ate food ( which as usual was nice) but left straight after as cold . It was 3 degrees outside & zero heating on inside - ridiculous. We will be back in April when the weather is warmer - plenty of places to choose from that have the intelligence to heat the restaurant ! £34 for two inc starter , main course & coke each - good value

I have just returned from a visit to my daughter over the past weekend. I live in Lancashire, the land of curry houses! We have been to this restaurant several times over the past 18 months. It was our first get together after lockdown, so 3 of us decided to go to Spices for our 1st. meal out after lockdown. It did not disappoint. My wife, who is not a big curry lover, had a prawn curry which she loved. My daughter & I had different dishes which we both thoroughly enjoyed. It felt so good to be out eating again that we had a great evening. The staff are all friendly & efficient. We will be back!

Great to be back at our favourite Indian restaurant. We have been going to Spices for years and would not want to go anywhere else. The staff are very friendly and helpful and will produce a curry with all your favourite flavours even if not on the menu.Food as usual was excellent. Thank you to Abdul and staff. We will be back.

Ordered a salmon tikka Bhuna, explained as chunks of salmon in a sweet & sour sauce. What came was a huge portion of a bland overly red mess with 2 huge pieces of cheap salmon with a slimy texture skin left on. Our 1st experience here, never again. The rice was ok but very dry. My husbands chicken Balti was also very bland.

Spices always produce great meals, takeaway or eat in, I've always found the food to be spot on. It can get busy so plan accordingly- but a busy and popular restaurant is always a good sign

Booked a table over the phone for a Friday night for 8 people, chose to eat here as there are a few dishes on the menu I haven't tried before and the good reviews. Greated by friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed, all the food was served at the same time and everyone said how nice their meals tasted. I had the monchura chicken which is cooked in brandy, definitely worth trying.

This year (2020) I have ordered a couple of currys and they are no where near the quality they once was (unsure if new chef is cooking now) Dansak for example tastes nothing like Dansak, Onion bargees look bigger but are more doughy, and staff not so friendly (a few new faces). Staff used to go out of theyre wy to welcome you and keep customers happy, not so sure this is the case now. A shame because up until now I would never use anybody else.

I haven't been to spices for a round 5 years due to moving areas. Turned up today they accommodated us extremely well, the food is still amazing, they still remember me and my name. Excellent service. Extemely impressed. Thank you Jo

Grew up in Handsworth Birmingham been to many good Curry houses, and lived in Bromsgrove for 14 years and this place is by leaps & bounds the best Curry house in Bromsgrove/Catshill & south Birmingham. The food is delicious, fresh & well prepared the staff are professional, friendly & always smart. I’ve tried most if not all Curry houses in Bromsgrove and no where comes near to Spices, for food & service. Definitely 100% for this place I won’t simply go anywhere else for Indian food👍

Had another lovely evening at Spices for my birthday last night. Nothing too much trouble. Group of 12 family and friends. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food delicious as always, we have been here several times and always had a great time. Can not recommend enough. It was my dad's 69th birthday this year and he wanted to celebrate in his favourite restaurant. He wasn't dissaponited; not only was the food brilliant as usual, the welcome given by the staff was legendary. The devil's in the detail as they say, and when he received a birthday card AND cake from the restaurant without any prior knowledge, its safe to say he was touched. Been to bromsgrove for work twice now and visited both times. Food is good and the service is excellent. Not something I’m use to in London.

Had an evening meal here en route home to Kent. The food itself was fantastic, service was great and the time taken for food to come out was very good.Would definitely reccomend, shame it's so far away or we would be using this restaurant far more.

Overnight stop off on the way to Cornwall. Friday night is curry night.. so we decided to give this a try based on the excellent reviews. Wow what a gem! Probably as well we came early as the place quickly filled. Staff are fantastic and the food was all gorgeous!!

Went on Friday night for a 'take away', and not having been here for soem time due to ill health, I must say the welcome was wonderful by Abdul and his staff.

We went here for a family birthday, the food was as great as always, the staff were very friendly and nice, always making you feel relaxed and not hovering while you eat. They also bought a small piece of cake out with a candle in which was a very nice touch! We will definitely use Spices again, thank you Spices!

Visited here for Work curry - had great night - the food was excellent I had a lamb special dish which was delicious- lamb was so tender. With Bengali rice. Which was fab!! Staff are so nice and friendly- put massive blaster candles on cake for 2 of our birthdays- and free shots!! Brill night

Had a take away on Saturday night from spices for 2 people, service is Fabulous with all staff very friendly and accommodating. Food is just amazing in every way. In my opinion it’s the Best Take Away in Catshill. BRILLIANT

I've eaten here countless times and as well as being really lovely people their food is wonderful. Whenever I eat elsewhere even if it's really excellent, it's never quite as good as this place is.

Fantastic welcome, I visited here with a colleague from Germany, the food was excellent very tasty and not too spicy, just right for the selected dishes. I would highly recommend visiting this curry house.
