My family and I (husband and 15 yr old daughter) stayed here for a week. Although it appears to be in the middle of nowhere, it's in the perfect spot for touring Cornwall.
The lodge we stayed in was clean and spacious, and altho we were all in the same room, the layout of having the single bed in an alcove next to the bathroom gave us all a little privacy. We also really appreciated having access that wasn't via the pub and a separate little parking area just for residents.
But what really makes this place special are your hosts Dave and Bernie, they're so accommodating, welcoming and friendly. After only a couple of days it felt like we were spending time with old friends. And to top it off the food is so good and very generous, you will never go hungry!!
We are hoping to return to Cornwall in a couple of years, and we already know where we'll be staying 😁
The diner will win no prizes for the ambience of its location in the middle of an industrial estate but that is unimportant.
What matters is the delicious and cheap breakfast rolls that they serve
Wow what can i say about Taj Absolutely Banging first time trying was not disappointed The Best Indian we have ever had so tasty hot and arrived on time with the 25 percent off this made it even more special, We was so full full but couldn't put it down would have been a shame not to eat it all and those onion Bhaji was to die for definitely will be ordering again and recommending to others.
What a surprise is Martin Cafe, it is a busy busy place with extensive menu boards, the food comes out quickly, it is tasty and a good portion size and the price is very reasonable, no complaints from me.
In 2016 I was fortunate enough to sample the culinary delights of Guillaume at his Fabulous698B supper club……fast forward 5 years and he has gone from strength strength with his supper club but has also opened a super gem of a restaurant called Gilvic in Hoxton. From the street, the restaurant is easily missed, but once you venture downstairs underneath the twinkling lights, you are greeted by this very talented chef and welcomed into his fresh, crisply decorated little oasis. To say he is passionate about the food he so beautifully presents, is an understatement, as each dish is cooked to perfection with the sauces and accompaniments cleverly matched. Guillaume was a pleasure to deal with when I made the booking for 10 of us with varying dietary requirements and a specific food allergy to take into account and he tweaked the 5 course tasting menu to suit our palettes. I simply cannot hesitate in recommending his supper-club and/or restaurant
Great lunchtime visit today. Excellent value, warm, welcoming atmosphere, good food and good coffee. 2 children (4+6) were happy to play on the equipment whilst their grownups chatted and sad to leave at the end of our slot.
Absolutely spot on, £5.50 for a breakfast with a mug of tea or coffee and you can double up for £1... Best value breakfast around and all quality ingredients.
Got into Winchester and had an hour to kill. Found this place near the station and grabbed a coffee and a pan au chocolate - both were fantastic. Multiple plugs to charge laptops/mobiles and good wifi.
Called in for a meet up with craft and laughter Friday girls for a cuppa ..the cafe was mega busy ..But... we were made very welcome ..our orders were taken very quickly and our drinks too were brought to us quickly . Some of the group decided to stay for lunch ..jacket potatoes with cheese ..ham salad sandwich ..beef salad..cakes ..all the food was yummy..
Very Well done ladies ..I will recommend you to everyone ..
In search of a snack on a wet and cold March lunchtime, we happily chose The Little Coffee Cup.
An excellent sandwich, made to order by very friendly ladies.
Highly recommended.
We needed a snack and a break on a 5 hour journey from Norfolk to Cheshire.
Externally it's an unusual building, but the cafe itself is well laid out, and has interesting decor.
We were given a lovely welcome, and chose from an interesting menu.
I enjoyed the Special which was a large hunk of baguette with fried eggs, sausages and bacon. There was plenty of it and it was tasty, and very reasonably priced.
Our coffees were a bit disappointing by comparison, but overall we were pleased to have stopped there.
