The best restaurants in England

Just tried 3 of the curries on offer, paneer, chicken and lamb. Really very tasty and filling. Served quickly, professional and friendly. Served with rice, salad, chutney and a superb Dahl. Pleasant seating area. Cannot rate this highly enough for basically £10 each.

We have only just discovered Baker & Cook even though we eat out often, it's only a few miles away and it has been open for a couple of years at least. Lots of other people have obviously discovered it - the first time we tried to go we wandered in at lunchtime midweek and it was fully booked. So we booked a table for the Friday night, the only night that it is regularly open. We had the tapas style small plate offering. Such yummy delicacies, all beautifully presented, colourful and innovative. Every table was occupied - clearly people come back regularly as the friendly patron seemed to know everybody. The service was impeccable, just this lovely patron and a waitress. We will be returning here time and again. The breakfast/brunch menu made our mouths water, and postings on Facebook are full of photos with scrumptious looking plates of food.

Lovely’s breakfasts with good choices. Cathy and Mike’s always friendly. Good value for money. Their dog Gary is always well behaved.

Wonderful cafe, very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious home cooked food. Can definitely recommend if you are walking in the area.

Marcelo is an excellent host and we all loved his new place in St Albans Street. Small but lovely atmosphere. Fantastic tapas and lovely wine. We should certainly visit more often.

Great coffee and great food. Always pop in here when I am in the village. Great selection of food and cakes. Lots to chooses from and fresh bread to takeaway. Sarah's cakes are to die for.

This is one of those places that you find and want to go back again and again. Very cosy and staff are so welcoming. The food is very reasonably priced with plenty of choice. Lovely cup of tea, very nice jacket potato and gorgeous scones and cake. Highly recommend dropping in it's a fabulous place.

First time using these and honestly the food is amazing. I placed my order through just eat and the delivery was on time, food is very fresh and tastes amazing. I would highly recommend and I will be using them again

Helen never fails to disappoint with her absolutely breathtaking cake creations! My son wanted Sabrina Carpenter inspired, bows, pearls and elaborate piping, and that is what he got! It tasted delicious also :)

Honestly, the best wrap I had in my life! Chicken so flavorful, not dry even without the sauce. The guys are super friendly. The meat is Halal and they also have vegetarian options which is great!
