We had the best Ploughman's Lunch that we have ever had anywhere. They were absolutely gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere and very pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely handmade items for sale . A great find.. we will be back.

What a lovely place this is. Large choice of food - home cooked - with a little craft area. Dogs now welcome on certain days which is excellent - especially on a very wet day like today. Plants for sale. Books to swap. Very friendly and welcoming volunteers.

This a lovely, welcoming tea rooms with amazing food. We had the homemade quiche, which was delicious, and the homemade ginger sponge and apple and cinnamon sponge…mmmmmm!! Everyone made a fuss of our dog too which was lovely! Well worth a visit!!!

we were walking the Cleveland Way. Every other place was closed, and this hadn't even come up on our map, but it was like an oasis in the desert when we saw it! The volunteers who run it were very friendly, my sausage sandwich was excellent and the cakes were some of the best we'd had. An amazing place in a lovely village. And they gave the dogs biscuits too.

Had our first visit today. Fantastic place, spotlessly clean, lovely welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff. We only wanted drinks but were tempted by the scones and couldn't resist! We weren't disappointed, they were absolutely delicious, in fact my husband ended up having a second one. I loved the handmade tea cosy. it reminded me of the ones my Aunt used to make. The menu is very extensive catering for all tastes. Definitely a place not to be missed, thoroughly recommended.

We were on a long, circular walk from Staithes. We missed a turning and ended up in Hinderwell. We spotted the tea rooms and thought we'd get refreshments before making our way back to Staithes. We were not disappointed. One of our group is vegan and we were happy to find several vegan cake options on offer (this shouldn't be surprising but we've lost count of the number of cafes that have no vegan cakes at all). All the drinks and cakes we had were delicious but it was also the friendly service and little extras that made our visit special. I ordered a mug of tea, it arrived as a mug of hot water with the teabag separate so I could brew the tea to my exact liking, a small thing but a great idea. We had the vegan carrot cake, chocolate cake, a vanilla cupcake and rocky road, we didn't leave a crumb.

After nearly two years of being welcomed every Thursday with our walking group it’s about time one of us wrote a review! A great mix of locals and visitors, all getting a friendly welcome. Between us we usually order sausage or bacon baps, tea cakes or for me one or maybe two of the excellent cakes, depending on how far we have walked. A great tearoom, the full five stars by all reviewers fully deserved.

I really liked this place. Just like Hinderwell, it’s properly old school, with nana crockery and lovely cakes and savouries and hot drinks - tea pots with cosies on, and a lovely warm welcome by the people working there. It’s a nice spot for a cuppa and the people having bigger meals seemed to be really enjoying them 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We arrived to find all tables occupied but we were warmly welcomed and offered a table in an adjoining room. In spite of how busy the place was our order was quickly taken and we were soon tucking into quiche and salad for me and Soup for my husband. Both meals were home made and delicious as was my husband’s desert of bread and butter pudding.

Despite (or maybe because of) being run by volunteers, this is one of the best tea rooms we have ever visited. Have been a few times now and the the staff are always welcoming and friendly, the food is always good (especially the homemade cakes!!) and the service is always excellent. This is how a tea room/cafe should be run. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to our next visit!!

After receiving a less than warm welcome at a nearby cafe when we arrived 15 minutes before closing time, we didn't expect to find anywhere else open. How wrong we were. In complete contrast, we received a VERY warm welcome at this gem of a place. Lovely, friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The homemade quiche is amazing; the sandwiches were well filled on really tasty bread, freshly made salad accompanied by freshly made tea and coffee served in vintage style china cups followed by the best ever homemade cherry and almond scones served with jam and cream. The cafe is run mainly by volunteers who obviously enjoy their contribution to this community cafe and are quite rightly proud of what they have achieved. We were also treated to an insight into the background of the schoolroom complete with photographs. To complete our visit we purchased some of the very reasonably priced, handmade items from the craft stall. From the four of us, thank you to the amazing staff for the amazing food and the amazing experience. Loved it.

My wife and I visited after seeing a sign scribbled on a chalk board during the day. It's an innovative little pop-up based in the vaults under Scarborough Market Hall, where there are craft and vintage shops by day. Manned by owner Paul who is very knowledgeable and chatty, we were treated to some superbly kept wines in a quietly informal atmosphere. It's a far cry from the hoi-polloi and bustle of Scarborough drinking holes, and one which must be prized. Top work, we'll be back.
