Lord Hill Inn, Former, High St, Telford TF4 2EX, United Kingdom, England
Had an absolutely horrible experience when I visited this place last month in a group. They were so overwhelmed with most tables full that they didn't turn up to take our order for good 90 minutes. After ordering we had to wait another 90 minutes to get our food which was below par. We had to literally sit through 4 hours to get our dinner which was just badly cooked.
Not cheap at £35 for lunch for 2, with coffee, but the quality and taste of the food was great. Vegan and vegetarian food only, with hot wraps, soup, salads and cakes available. Would visit again for sure.
Fantastic place and one of the few pubs that has a no dogs policy inside. Such a breath of fresh air and somewhere that I will continue to visit because of the warm welcome, fabulous food and dog free environment. Bliss! Thank you to all the friendly staff for a delicious lunch.
My wife who is gluten intolerant ordered a pizza, (Gluten Free). She informed the person serving us that she is Gluten Intolerant and she assured my wife. Within 1 hour of having eaten the pizza my wife had an allergic reaction to the pizza which was obviously not GF as stated on the menu. People with allergies are dependent on restaurants getting it right to avoid serious reactions or other. I did make contact with the restaurant and at this time they have not responded to my call concerns.
Brunch visit just after midday., short wait outside - but well advised about time and offered free Tea for warmth (along with heat lamp burning away)
I had the Grill up
Almost my best ever breakfast
But the sausages were a bit grainy
Everything else amazing
Would go again

A very interesting restaurant, imitating the medieval style, there is a candle on each table, and most of the food is served with fingers! The food was very delicious. I ordered a chicken and ribs. The ribs are sweet, which I especially like as a southerner. For dessert, I had strawberry marshmallow ice cream, which was also very delicious (lack of words). Almost the most delicious meal I have ever had in the UK 😋 Recommended!
We were riding the Swale Trail from The Dales Cycle Centre to Gunnerside with our 5 year old and 2 year old.
We battled wind and rain for 4 hours and finally arrived at Gunnerside exhausted (especially the 2 little ones) and decided to have a drink and dry off. We purchased a Pint, a half, two glasses of apple juice, Mini Chedders and a Twix for £15.10. We asked if they were serving food, the bar lady explained they were not.
Having taken a seat inside, our kids were starving so we gave them sandwiches from their pack lunch that they were unable to eat on the ride as it had been pouring with rain for most of it (we didn't think a twix and mini cheddars were enough sustenance for a 2 and 5 year old).
We were exhausted, but happy after a hard ride and thankful to be inside in the warm during heavy rain.
5 minutes later, someone from the kitchen headed over and tells us the kids can't eat their own sandwiches in the pub! I explained that we'd just bought £15 of drinks and snacks and unfortunately they were not serving food and the kids were starving.
The lady told us rather rudely that "we should have planned better" and insisted the kids could not eat their tiny sandwiches.
Frankly this attitude was so unnecessary and petty. We were going to spend another £15 on another round of drinks, but given the attitude and being made to feel unwelcome we instead headed home.
What seemed like an ok pit stop on a bike ride is actually a tired establishment with a bad attitude. Would not recommend.
