obviously there’s inadequate of staff since just a slice of brad and some muashroom and a egg took a age to serve I just can’t help to wonder does the time freeze? Terrible experience and the service is like….. ehhhh. If you can’t serve your customer properly you should close the store really. I dont care whether it’s because the holiday is coming or what, if you come to work just show some working spirit ok?????? The restaurant is just a train wreck and please believe all the one star review is 100% true and I now believed.

Food average at best and that’s the nicest thing I can say. The waiter was trying his hardest but obviously not trained the Bloody mary took 25 minutes to come and that was after the food arrived. The Bloody Mary was shocking and not even made correctly (shaken which just splits the tomato juice so maybe learn how to make cocktails if you’re going to charge me £14). My partners coffee sat getting cold on the tray supposedly so they could serve the drinks together but then was cold by the time he received it. There were only 2 other tables in so not exactly rushed off of their feet. The quickest drink I saw made was when a member of staff came up from downstairs and helped himself to a coke whilst all tables on the restaurant sat needing to be cleared. I politely asked for the drinks to be taken off instead I was offered £4 off the bill which I just accepted and paid as wanted to leave. Great birthday brunch… do better

Extremely disappointing experience. Prior to making a booking for the same day, I phoned the restaurant to ask if they're dog friendly. The answer was it's size dependent, so I told them my dog is small, 14kg. The guy at the phone said this is fine, they just don't want the dog to reach the table. I made a booking and also mentioned that I'm coming with my dog in the booking notes. We took a 45 minutes trip across London to get to the restaurant and were denied access because of our dog. The restaurant was completely empty at 5pm. We were offered to sit outside (10°C, no thank you). The way we were treated is highly unprofessional and simply rude.

Looking for a cozy spot to tickle your taste buds? Look no further than Publiq, the charming little local eatery with a very friendly staff. With a sprinkle of Swedish magic, their autumn menu is a delightful Nordic adventure of small dishes —especially the meatballs! Publiq also serves up cocktails and they’ve got a decent wine selection. Whether you’re chilling indoors or sitting outdoors, if you’re in the mood for a good time with a Nordic twist, Publiq is your new go-to hangout

Edited review: Used to love this place and have travelled across London on special occasions to go it, but something has massively changed since our last visit. The staff used to be really attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, taking a huge amount of pride in everything they do, but none of them seem to work there any more. The atmosphere used to be really lovely and intimate, with great music, but it now feels very generic. The food used to be a lot of amazing small plates, but now has resorted to what seems like a very standard style 3 course menu. None of the dishes we recommended before are on the menu anymore. Some dishes were good, others very over-salted. It sounds odd, but the ice cubes! They used to have a specialist ice machine that made gorgeous clear ice for the cocktails. Now it's just regular ice as they've added tables downstairs and gotten rid of the machine. The cocktail menus haven't changed in 6 months, were dirty and tatty, and they had run out of a lot of standard ingredients when we went. Final nail in the coffin, presented with a bill with a standard 20% service charge (no issue there), only to then be asked if we wanted to tip. Confused we asked what the service charge was. Apparently none of the staff get the service charge... It's gone from a really special and personal experience, to an expensive and not that amazing regular restaurant. I suspect the old staff who made it so special have all left, taking the joy with them. To top it off, both me and my partner had stomach issues later on, we suspect possibly from something we ate.

The wine was nice and food decent but it’s by the road so very noisy. The service was not very good sadly - we asked for olive oil which was very hesitantly brought to us after a while and no additional plates to share etc. The atmosphere wasn’t great as the lights were not working on our table. Then they switched on a big bright light in the evening which again was bad for atmosphere

Had a wonderful brunch at Publiq today. Loved the ambiance, very pleasant staff and a great selection of interesting drinks. Food was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated and very well balanced in terms of flavour combinations. Can highly recommend the eggs benedict (to which they kindly added an additional egg per my request). The chive aioli was also unique and very interesting, and really enjoyed the Bloody Mary to complement the meal. Have previously visited for dinner and loved the food as well as the presentation and novel flavour combinations. Can definitely see ourselves coming back for a pre-theatre menu, especially given the closeness to Royal Albert Hall.

A great little brunch café with lovely food and nice personal service. All the food was delicious and, as a group, we probably had most of what was on the menu. I would say, however, that it is a very expensive place and hence I ranked it a 4 overall instead of a 5.

If you like your food, drink and ambience Swedish simple and elegant, Publiq will not dissapoint. Well, somewhat. We loved the foccacia bread, perfectly cooked sirloin (although the peppercorn sauce was gentile and weak. Where's the peppercorn?) and the incredible Al dente risotto, although the tuna tartare lacked texture, was a bit too mushy, and showed its mid quality and terrible knife work. Our Martinis were refreshing and delicious, although the presentation, once again, was overtly oh-so-simple. No garnish, with classic tiny cocktail glasses. Some could call it lazy. The dessert of tiramichox was also a bit of a miss; again with low quality chocolate, which I wouldn't even use at home. Service was warm and friendly, yet also fell short in terms of providing the needed small plates, cutlery, and water refill. Begrudgingly still handed over the "gratuitous" americana style 12.5% service charge, of course. Effortlessly simple food, which would benefit from further consideration.

Quite bizarre experience and the service was terrible. Firstly, they got the food order wrong despite the fact that only three items were ordered. Then the waitress spilt the cocktail accidentally on us, which happens but they didn’t offer to bring out a new cocktail or to not charge us for it or even wipe down the table properly. And then when we tried to order more cocktails, the waitress just left the order halfway through to serve the table outside… Food was good but very overpriced. 8-12 pounds for a bite even for London is a bit much. Cocktails were fair priced and good though. The interior also gave a good atmosphere.

NO PRE-THEATRE MENU (scammed) - We booked for the pre-theatre menu, but they told us it was not available anymore - although it is advertised on their website. The only tasting menu was almost double. Really unprofessional. No apologies. The food came in tiny portions, and I am not sure if the fish was halibut (what I paid for) or cod. Given the size (less than a bite) difficult to say.

extremely disappointing experience. booked weeks in advance, said I was going to the RAH for a concert at 7pm and asked at what time to be there to enjoy the pre-theatre tasting menu (6 courses 45£ - note they also have a tasting menu of 8 dishes at 65£ and 12 dishes at 85£). we arrive at 5:30pm as advised, just to be told that menu does not exist anymore starting from today. only the 8@65 or 12@85 available, but better go a la carte if we are short of time as all dishes come together as a sharing concept. we go a la carte and ask for two starters and two mains. the starters are bite sized/finger food - no idea how you could share. the mains are two/three bites each. we are starving at this point but very short on time so with plates still on the table we struggle to get attention to order dessert and bill all in one go. overall terrible experience. putting this specific experience aside: food is very well plated. flavours are good (nothing exceptional, nothing to send back). portions do not work as sharing concept. price point does not work as a la carte but probably worth as 8-course @ 65. service lacking (had to struggle the whole time to get any attention).

The food, cocktails and ambiance in Publiq is must-visit experience! We went for a pre-show dinner (Royal Albert Hall) as a group of 3 and ordered most of the plates as a sharing concept. We all agreed that the food was excellent: some of the best, well-thought out dishes we've ever had in London. We've tried a bunch of cocktails as well and they were again absolutely wonderful. They would justify the visit in on their own. Finally, the ambience and the staff's focus on helping you, explaining the dishes to you is what makes this 5* visit. Definitely make a reservation - the space is small and gets busy. Definitely try a cocktail and I really recommend the Rhubarb and Vanilla dessert. They call themselves a gastropub, and they earned that right with the meal they served. Within the confines of a traditional English pub, they have twists and rei-ntetpretations of classic English fare that meets the interests of their younger audience. My wife and I, Americans in our 60s, were perfectly at home and had a wonderful Sunday roast meal that could not have been matched.

Angel arranged to have a breakfast care package along with coffee ready for us when we departed for a very early excursion. She placed my dinner order and arranged to have it delivered to my room, and it was ready for us when we arrived. She absolutely was amazing and truly made The Egerton House Hotel my home away from home. Her attention to detail was impecabble. The hotel's location in the heart of the city made it easy to explore everything on foot, and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious options, as well as a la carte menu. I especially appreciated the personalized welcome note in my room - it really made me feel valued as a guest. A lit votive candle and bath salt were waiting for us after each turn-down service. I requested a fresh pot of coffee each morning at 5 a.m. and it was delivered to my room along with a smile. We will most definitely return to the Egerton House Hotel again!!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London, England.

Fast service, generous portions, and the burgers were good (chicken/vegetarian). The only downside: no beer.

Had a lovely dinner at Palki. Fully halal restaurant, well priced and the portions are mid sized. Food was lovely and fresh. I found their (Bengali) curries lighter, milder and slightly sweeter compared to indian or pakistani ones. Im giving it 4* food wise only because lamb was a little tough and chewy and curry was filled with large onion junks, which are not my personal favourite. Garlic Naan was delightful and so was their fluffy rice. The uncles there are so friendly and kind and i liked how calm and quiet it was in the restaurant.
