A cozy cafe for lunch. Apparently a number of patrons left so dizzily content that they forgot their glasses! Not to worry because the considerate staff have saved them all in a glass bowl by the register.

The vegan waffle with chocolate sauce and the vegan hot chocolate were delicious! Also the staff was very lovely.

A specialist 'chocolate' themed cafe. Best hot chocolate ever and the chocolate cake was divine. If your a chocoholic, this is the place to visit.

Wonderful place. Exquisitely decorated and the food is delicious. Their red beans stewed with chocolate are wonderful and their chocolate cake... oh my, leave room for the cake because you will definitely repeat it. The staff is very nice and friendly. We will return without a doubt.

This is an extraordinary wee place. Friendly staff and quirky surroundings. All the food is locally sourced and such an interesting menu. The black pudding and goats cheese bap was amazing and my friend had the bean soup with chirizo. But if you only go for the hot chocolate, get the large one; you won’t be disappointed! We’ll be back!

Hot choco in a slightly chilly room.

We decided to sit outside and was very excited to come to this place but needless to say I was very disappointed - warm welcome but once the old waitress saw the dogs was made to feel very “unwelcome” by the “older” waitress of the place - back comments such as outside was the “best place for them” insinuating they’re not well enough behaved to sit “inside” £42 for 4 tiny cakes and tiny cups… However the young waitress couldn’t of been nicer and made us feel welcome and clearly is a lover of dogs… If you don’t like dogs do not let dogs in your cafe simple as…. will NOT be back Avoid it at all costs and go to the Clock tower that’s just down the street from there that’s what you call service!! Much better staff and very well priced.

The food was a bit over priced. Especially the waffle. The service was great and the staff were lovely.

We popped in five minutes before closing just to buy some chocolates, we didn't have time to go into the cafe. We quite often buy loose chocolates from chocolate shops and look out for them when we are out and about, visiting places throughout the UK. My wife said; "I think they are the best chocolates I have ever had". I tend to agree, they are very good. They are slightly more expensive than we usually find but the quality is worth the price.

This place is excellent in every way. Love it just as we did many years ago when it opened. Update 2024 Still as lovely as ever if not better.

So happy we found this tremendous place. We dropped in for a couple of hot chocolates (probably the best hot chocolate i’ve ever had) and a slice of cake. Amazing decor, amazing staff, great vibe. Couldn’t not leave without buying some chocolate on the way out! Reasonably prices and really looking forward to returning and sampling the lunch menu.

Had an outside table, which was excellent since we had the dogs with us. Food and hot Chocolate was wonderful after walking from Elie plus the lady who took our order and converted us both to P protein milk with a small sample so definitely worth 5 stars. Recommend Mango Lassi plus any of the Facacia rolls

Pretty disappointed with the visit. The portions were very small and very much overpriced for mediocre food. The menu is very limited and not child friendly. The milkshake was just a small glass of average chocolate milk, barely chilled and not a lot of flavour. Staff were nice and friendly but that is not enough to entice me back.

Lovely food and the best hot chocolate. We bought chocolates, hot chocolate and a chocolate bar to go. We were on a hike in the sun and the owner insisted on hand delivering our products to our accommodation so as to not spoil the chocolate. Service at its best!!! Check out the Karmasutra chocolates. They're not on display.

Such a wonderful place to have some amazingly delicious food. I've tried a bit of everything with chocolate and it was so tasty. As a belgian I love some good chocolate and you don't find it everywhere but here it was just a little bomb of taste in your mouth . They have different type of chocolate to eat but also to make hot chocolate at home . The service was wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful and took the time to have a little chat with us to explain everything about the chocolates but also about what to see and do on the coast . When we're again in Pittenweem we will definitely make a stop again .

Lovely place. You can eat in the tiny courtyard, in the cafe, or on tables outside during the festival. Chocolate is top whack. BLT delicious, and the crepes looked wonderful too. Worth looking out if you are in the village... Or just passing through !

It's a lovely place. Usually busy, and the staff are friendly and service is good. It's a little pricey but when your on holiday you treat yourself after your year of work. We had focaccia sandwiches the first time we went. Delicious (dogs are allowed too). The second time we had cake. I had their chocolate cake. It's a chocolate cafe. So, I was looking forward to it. It was a really strange experience. It was an indulgent cake but it was 'wet'. When you cut into it moisture poured from the sponge part.... It oozed out. The colour was a yellowy colour. It was syrupy. I think they soak the sponge in syrup. But why? A moist chocolate cake can be achieved easily. This wasn't meant to be a 'tiramasu' trifle experience.

We’ve been coming to the Cocoa Tree as part of our visits to the Pittenweem Art Festival for the last 15 years or so, and it’s always wonderful. The hot chocolate is superb, and the food delicious: thank you!

To be honest it had been a very hot day and we had walked about 6 miles and all we really wanted was a nice cold milkshake. Unfortunately it was warm and not at all refreshing. The food however was ok. Staff friendly and polite enough.

The coffee shop isn’t bad at all, however I will not go back as the owner is discriminatory towards queer people. Disappointing

Friendly staff and a reasonbaly priced lunch. Cafe is dog friendly and there is outdoor seating at the back with water for the pooch. The foccaccia's are amazing.

What a wonderful place, and what really lovely people! We visited twice in 2 days (hot chocolate and waffles out of this world 😋), but on the 3rd day my husband was brewing a cold, so I went in to get 2 carry-out hot chocolates. When the staff heard about him, they made up an amazing brew which he really loved, and made him feel heaps better. Thank you so much! 💐

Lovely little place, we had take out, buying some of their homemade chocolate was very expensive, staff were nice and helpful.

Good hot chocolate, crepes were not that filled nor hot. Chocolate cake was good, but for the price quite small. Lovely atmosphere inside with the fire though. Overall, good experience but was slightly pricey for what we got.

It's not bad but a bit expensive and the Clock Tower cafe has a better atmosphere and friendlier staff.

Had lunch here. The main dishes were underwhelming however the cakes and coffee were very good. Would recommend sticking to these if you go.

Paid a visit to this wee gem a few months back .When looking from outside I got the impression the place was small inside. However as I entered The Cocoa Tree shop it is very roomy and very cosy. Enough tables to have quite alot of people sitting in to eat and drink. I had a Focaccia roll with Bacon and Egg. It was lush the nicest roll I have ever tasted, soft crunchy and delicious.The hot chocolate was also very yummy and delicious. The staff serving so very friendly . The whole atmosphere of the place so relaxing. The tables had little trinkets built inside the top of the tables. Memories of the past perhaps? I did wonder to whom they belonged and what of the history of that person who had owned them. So I have given this shop 5 stars and would recommend everyone to pay a visit.I will be back to taste the tasty rolls again very soon.

Had a vegan broth soup in here that had coco nibs in it. It was superb!!! I wouldn’t normally entertain vegan food however they are doing something very very right in that kitchen 👌🏻 the hot chocolate and the cakes were to amazing also. Quality stuff from these guys, and the staff were lovely, cheers guys. We’ll be back

The ambience and je ne sais quoi of the film "Chocolat" comes to life in this little cafe. Little eccentricities like an outdoor loo that's all mod cons, the beautiful mosaic angel and touches of nature from assorted potted plants add an inexplicable sense of wonder to this hideaway on the coast. We had hazelnut milk hot chocolate, dark chilli hot chocolate and one of the Alice's Raspberry cordials. They need to be tried to be understood. The hot chocolates were exactly what you would hope. Not over diluted with milk but not so thick as to feel like you can't finish it. There's chocolate and there's this stuff. I've eaten at Coco Black and had their hot chocolate. Their chocolates and desserts too. In my humble opinion this was better chocolate. It's also not as expensive and it's far more peaceful here. Definitely worth a trip for most chocolate afficionados. If this place starts competing for good food awards and the like I wouldn't be surprised if they start winning and the prices rise as demand increases. Best hurry...

Gem of a cafe hidden in a small village. Worth a visit even if you're not staying in Pittenweem. Dark mocha coffee was to die for. Unusual selection of food but caters to most tastes and executed really well.

What a wee hidden gem. Lovely wee coffee shop with lots of lovely chocolate. The food was delicious. Tea served in China cups. Dogs are also very welcome. Would definitely recommend

I had a lovely salad with cacao nibs. They have a great selection of food and drinks and the young ones had some crepes too. Dare you try the chilli hot chocolate 🔥

Only problem is that I was wanting more afterwards! Very polite staff members and lovely crepes especially.

Get to visit a couple of times a year again it lived up to expectations - looking forward to the next time.👍😍
