Came here this evening, food was lovely, flavors were amazing and was a lovely atmosphere, staff was present polite and helpful, will definitely be returning and recommending
Delicious thick chips cooked to perfection, accompanied by fish bites to die for.
Lovely takeaway on the seafront for a nice walk along the beach.
Will definitely be back, couldn’t recommend it any more!
Visited this restaurant after a few afternoon pints in Crystal Palace. Great food, brilliant service, and loads of choice. Indian food is always good choice for veggies and so we were reasonably confident we'd do ok.
The small plates / starters were amazing, great spicing and delicious - punjabi samosas and aloo chat were amazing. Home made paneer was as good as any had when visiting India and the spicing so really subtle and well balanced.
If you're wanting traditional English Bengali inspired curry house style Indian food [not that there's anything wrong with that by a long shot] then this could be a really refreshing change as that's not necessarily what's offer, in my view.
The poppadoms came with great home made dips and all the food was rich but not greasy or relying on chilli's solely.
We were left thinking when can we get back there as there was so much we didn't get to....thalis, biryanis [done proper with salt pastry seal] and loads more.
Staff were really responsive, reasonably priced and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Oh, where do I even begin with Scott’s Tea Room? It’s a delightful gem hidden in the heart of the village—and, let’s be honest, once you catch a glimpse of Scott himself, you won’t be thinking about tea. Imagine a cozy little haven, with the aromas of freshly baked scones mingling in the air, all served by a man who looks like he just stepped out of a Viking movie set. Yes, Scott is hunky, bald, and bearded, and honestly, it should be illegal to make tea and cakes while looking that good.
The tea selection? Impeccable. The cakes? Life-changing. But it’s the service that’s the real star here. I mean, this guy pours tea like it’s a ritual handed down through generations of ruggedly handsome warriors. Scott can bring out a Victoria sponge like he’s presenting Excalibur, and somehow, the cup of Earl Grey tastes better because he poured it. Need sugar with that? Just catch his eye—trust me, it’s the only sugar you’ll need.
If you’re passing through the village, make it a priority to stop here. Come for the tea, stay for the Scott. And if he happens to flex while pouring your milk? Well, that’s just a bonus.
Went for wife’s birthday and wasn’t sure what to expect….it was quite possibly the best Indian food I have ever eaten!
The simple reason is not just the quality and execution of the dishes (which I have had in other restaurants), but here every dish including each curry actually had a completely different and flavourful profile…this is not something I can honestly say happens elsewhere
Standout dishes
Starters:
Lamb chops
Scallops
Fried prawns
Mains:
Lams lal mass
Butter chicken
Prawn curry
Deserts
Ras malai
The food was so good I ordered one of each biryani as a takeaway to take home
Catering to the customer:
I asked for the lamb chops to be served
medium and they executed that perfectly
I also requested the food NOT to be mild (as some dishes would have been served mild) and instead requested all to be served medium and again fantastic job
I will definitely revisit and hope the standards are just as high
Well done ….
While a part of me wants to selfishly give this place one star to keep it hidden from the masses, I just can’t do it—because it truly deserves the recognition.
From the moment you walk through the door, the vibe is spot on. Soft reggae music plays in the background—just enough to get you humming along—and the walls proudly tell the story of the restaurant’s roots. It feels welcoming, authentic, and full of heart.
Now, the food. Absolutely packed with flavour, spice, and that unmistakable Jamaican touch that leaves you wanting more. It’s clearly made fresh, with real care and soul. Yes, there was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it.
The staff? Genuinely friendly and attentive, even when the place was buzzing. It’s rare to feel so well looked after without being rushed.
Having just returned from two weeks in Jamaica, I couldn’t stop telling my father and family about this bad-bwoy spot in Scotland. He’s already said he’ll try it out next time he visits—and I know he’ll be impressed. As for me and my partner, we’re already planning our return this weekend.
Trus mi—don’t miss dis place. It’s a gem.
An excellent cocktail bar which you wouldn't know exists without knowing it exists which is probably what makes it so unique, definitely going to go back.
One of the biggest selections of spirits I've seen in a bar in Plymouth.
Has a nice range of board games.
Been coming here a few years, I’ve always been welcomed and looked after. Best place in Abergavenny. Ive been looked after by them so much never believe everything you hear

This is a truly outstanding place in every way. We had the 9-course taster menu that not only tasted amazing, but brought some unusual, yet harmonius flavour combinations. However, the best is the human story behind the place. Chris the owner brought together a team of people who might have had a difficult past, but they really blossomed workng here and now form a great team. I hope I can come back soon to be part of this special experience again.
