Best pub and most welcoming in Abergavenny. Hugely misunderstood, great people great laugh. I've drank here since I was old enough to buy a pint and its always been the best night out as apposed to anywhere else in the town .. after all its a pub built on respect. Everyone has morals everyone is respected and looked after soooo.... Why would you want to drink anywhere else ?

Nipped in during a bit of a walk/pub crawl round the local area where we were staying. Found this Lovely pub with great staff & friendly welcoming locals. Had a couple of pints & cracking conversation. A proper pub. Worth a visit

Met with some old Army friends here yesterday. It was one of the few places in Abergavenny showing British and Irish Lions match on Sky TV. Gastro pub it isn't but a genuine welcome from Kath behind the bar, and plenty of banter with the regulars. Be aware cash only.

Nothing too much trouble for the hosts who are kind and caring. Wonderful welcome and a certainty that each person will be treated a an individual without prejudice.

Wonderfully aggressive atmosphere at this charming Welsh pub. Love how authentically dangerous the place feels. I’ve never seen someone’s false teeth fall out of their mouth before. I’ve visited several times in recent years and I was pleased to see a fairly drinkable beer on tap the most recent time I was there.

Proper working mans pub, music, beer and excellent music. Always service with a smile but watch out for the mad ex-surfer Neville (mental).

This restaurant was recommended to us by our host whilst staying in nearby Newland in the Forest of Dean at Easter. We booked on-line (easy process). As we approached the restaurant we were delighted to see that Church Street was lit with festive lights (no it wasn't Xmas we visited at Easter!) which made for very pleasant start to the evening. The restaurant itself was also twinkling with decorative lights - again very pleasant. We were given a very warm welcome by the host and shown to our table. Menu's were produced and drinks order taken in short order. The regular menu is varied with specials on the blackboard - so good choice of meals. Our food was extremely well presented and was very tasty. My wife had fish and I had beef bourguignon - both were excellent The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere despite being busy. The host was attentive but helpful. Do book ahead - several people were turned away whilst we were there. Also please note that they closed the door to new diners at 8pm when we visited. A very enjoyable evening - we will definitely visit again when in the area.

It's an odd place you get a lot of motorcycles there but not a lot of bikers, very hipster ish which is ok ! But a little pricey on food and drinks, also a shop on site but that's expensive too...

It was my birthday and my son took me here and I never knew this place existed! And not far from our doorstep. I’ve been to many places in Cardiff but this has become my favourite. All the dishes were so fresh and the soft shell crab 🦀 was amazing. It’s a small restaurant but the food is highly recommended.

My favourite pub. Chloe and Jim are terrific hosts, the food is amazing and they have Butty Bach Wye Valley beer. What more can you want from a village pub?!?
