Fantastic! I’m a regular visitor to this shop and I’ve never bought anything that hasn’t been perfect.
From the “Cumberland curl”, a variety of marinated chicken breasts, lamb joints, bacon (including treacle and breakfast), a variety of different pies, “chilli growlers”, marinated lamb shanks and so the list goes on. Absolutely first class. I’ve been nudged into writing this review after my husband tried their new spicy lamb pie. He said it was “excellent” with “great spices”. All this with such friendly, professional, informative service.
All I can say is if you’re in Windermere don’t miss a visit.
So lucky to have these chaps nearby so that we can get some decent sushi. Have recommended to lots of people.
Like the previous reviewer, we have also done a sushi making class with them but a couple of years ago now. We went with a couple of friends and had a very jolly evening, drinking prosecco and making/ eating sushi. I think we might have to do it again soon actuality.
Really love this little van. Have been getting pizza from them for a couple of years.
We particularly love the summer when they are at Seaton Carew and we call in and get a pizza to take home. Made fresh.
The dough and ingredients are all fresh and taste amazing.
This restaurant was popular, but, being quite small, has CLOSED at this spot, but HAS MOVED to FORE STREET about 300 yards to the East, near the East Okement River, and its name has changed to " The Allotment ", as it uses food all supplied locally. I highly recommend it for a smiley welcome & good wholesome food. Now sells jams & preserves.
We booked a table for a Sunday Carvery and we highly recommend. Great food and great service. Reasonable price too.
A lovely treat. We will definately be returning

A “wow” experience. Most certainly the best restaurant in Brighton and well beyond. Exquisite food, beautifully presented, top service, class surroundings; Amarillo deserves a Michelin star!!
We have been meaning to try Bab to go for ages & finally got around to it tonight. We got a bowl each & dumplings to take away, & some Kimchi to try to. It was so beautiful - I cannot decide what my favourite part of the dish was! The lady who served us was so friendly, knowledgeable & passionate about the food. We cannot wait to become regulars!
What a wonderful place. We went for breakfast (8 of us) and loved it. The food was delicious (cooked breakfast), the service excellent and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent with allergies. The decor was retro which gave it a great feel. The sale of local products was an added bonus. We will definitely be visiting again before we finish our holiday. A cheeky piece of cake was taken away too. All the cakes looked delicious. The Lupin lady 😀
Oh, where do I even begin with Scott’s Tea Room? It’s a delightful gem hidden in the heart of the village—and, let’s be honest, once you catch a glimpse of Scott himself, you won’t be thinking about tea. Imagine a cozy little haven, with the aromas of freshly baked scones mingling in the air, all served by a man who looks like he just stepped out of a Viking movie set. Yes, Scott is hunky, bald, and bearded, and honestly, it should be illegal to make tea and cakes while looking that good.
The tea selection? Impeccable. The cakes? Life-changing. But it’s the service that’s the real star here. I mean, this guy pours tea like it’s a ritual handed down through generations of ruggedly handsome warriors. Scott can bring out a Victoria sponge like he’s presenting Excalibur, and somehow, the cup of Earl Grey tastes better because he poured it. Need sugar with that? Just catch his eye—trust me, it’s the only sugar you’ll need.
If you’re passing through the village, make it a priority to stop here. Come for the tea, stay for the Scott. And if he happens to flex while pouring your milk? Well, that’s just a bonus.
