Took my partner here for his birthday as he wanted to go to a michelin star restaurant. The food was out of this world. Friendly down to earth staff. Lovely warm atmosphere with log burner. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be defiantly be returning in the future.

This is our favourite restaurant, have never had anything but perfection. The food is interesting, beautifully cooked & presented.

The combination of ingredients for each dish was, as always, superb. It is a real treat to dine at the West House and I would not hesitate to recommend it to people who appreciate the time and effort gone into creating each menu. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, and the whole experience was a pleasure. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

The most wonderfully decadent food, combined with a well thought through wine flight and friendly service. Lots of little treats at the beginning and end of the meal just helped to make the whole experience more special.

We didn't stay here but we did eat in the restaurant. Its the 2nd time we've been. Food is always excellent but check out prices before you go. My opinion is that the food is excellent and up there with the best. This comes at a cost which is absolutely fine. However. Although I do appreciate that a lot of work goes into the various courses with fine ingredients which is where the cost is I did feel a bit disappointed with the optional extra cheese and biscuit course which for £15 for 4 tiny pieces of cheese, 4 biscuits and some pickle was a bit over priced. Tasty but over priced. That being said I would definitely go back. 4 of us ate food, 2 bottles of wine, 3 cocktails, soft drinks and 1 coffee nearly £600. I do feel that the 12.5% service charge should be optional and not automatically added to the bill.. this out of everything would be what would make me think twice about going back. As previously mentioned, the food is excellent so worth a try at least once. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience. A calm and relaxed environment . Superb food, beautifully prepared. Flavour combinations simply wonderful. Unique and delicious. Went for the wine pairing choice and thrilled I did. Informed that the menu changes regularly which is great news as our intention is to dine here often. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

Not our first visit and we took friends who had not dined here before. Everything was great - food, service, wine pairing. The quality of food is excellent and we enjoyed everything particularly the amuse-bouches. This is fine dining so is priced accordingly.

I love this restaurant. It has a very relaxed vibe, the service is friendly and efficient and the food is superb. I love the seasonal menu, the home made bread is to die for. I can't fault it.

Absolutely faultless… impeccable service, excellent food, lovely ambience , perfect temperature and noise level

Four of us had a superb evening in this lovely intimate restaurant with friendly but not intrusive service. The set menu was outstanding and the accompanying wines were all perfect. The delicious amuse bouches and the petits fours just added to the overall experience. Biddenden village is always pretty but the Christmas lights on a rare dry evening just added to the ambience.

This was a return visit having had a stunning meal in March 2023. Came with a different pair of friends. Both pairs agreed that they wish to return. It was outstanding on all counts.

We have eaten in the West House many times and always really enjoy it. The staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the food is superb. This Sunday was no exception, in fact I could honestly say that the food was wonderful.

Wonderful meal. Very friendly welcome. I had the regular menu, my husband had the vegetarian menu plus the wine pairing. We both found the food excellent, apart from my husband's main course which was grilled aubergine and tomatoes. He felt the dish was not to the standard of the rest of the meal; it had none of the sophistication and finesse and seemed to be an afterthought. However this only slightly spoilt the overall experience and we have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. If in the area, we will go again.

A lovely experience and the staff were friendly and explained all of the dishes. The different courses were varied and interesting. There was little atmosphere as there was only myself and my partner, until another couple arrived a little later. Apparently they had received 3 or 4 cancellations that evening, hence the empty restaurant. Although the food was very good, we felt that it was a little overpriced for what it was.

We had a nice, relaxing evening meal. Tables in the restaurant are at a good distance from each other, which makes all the difference. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and arrived at just the right intervals. We loved little surprise treats in between courses. Will definitely come back. Visited today - a Mothers Day gift of a short lunch. We loved every minute of it from the little appetisers of Parmesan churros to an octopus starter with chorizo, confit duck with sweetcorn, venison loin and apple dessert. Service was friendly and discrete. Cannot fault a thing! We will return.

What a gem of a place. My husband and I visited for the first time and had the most amazing dining experience. A truly wonderful dining experience with the best wine list we have ever reviewed. The passion from the chef and the staff is clear to see and when you are producing and serving food of this standard it’s no wonder. Will definitely return.

As ever an absolute delight. We had the 4 course lunch (short menu) with wine pairing. each course was a journey of true taste. The Grilled Octopus was exquisite flavour, tender with chorizo and smoked pepper jam. We enjoy the pork dripping with homemade butter and bread, it's worth a visit just for that. This is about our 10th visit and my wife and I can't wait to visit again.....very soon.

Tasting menu with good sized portions but very traditionally flavoured. No innovation or zingy flavours but well cooked tasty food. However at this price I expected a little more excitement. Good wine selection that is well priced.

Had Sunday lunch as part of birthday celebrations for my wife. Lovely atmosphere, attentive friendly service, and really great food. I thought we were taking a chance not being able to choose from a menu but need not have been concerned. Every dish was simply, gorgeous. If you’re looking for a special place, a treat, then the West House is definitely worth a visit.

If you want a special treat for a birthday lunch(as was the case for me) or any other occasion, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better venue. Great location, lovely building, super service and really great food.

The West House was a lovely warm restaurant with a relaxed ambiance and helpful staff. Food delicious, but it was too much for me. By no means a criticism - I simply have a small appetite. My husband had no problem enjoying all that was presented to us.

Fab service, fab food, fab presentation, fab wine flight. Nothing more needs to be said! Some may consider the cost to be very high but the high quality of everything justifies the price.

I took my foody husband for a birthday treat to the West House in Biddenden. It was an amazing gastronomical experience and the next time we are flush for cash, we will go back. The staff were lovely too. Areal good evening.

Back for a visit after 7 years or thereabouts and much to be impressed with. Absolutely delicious. Mouthwatering combinations that really worked. We even ate things with relish that we normally dislike!

The was nondescript and little of it very, very pricey for one piece of lamb with many soufflés before. The dessert was passable with a dash of sorbet. If this is Michelin status, I will keep to fish and chips. Really not to advise this venue, esp for nearly 300. Pds

Brilliant food,wine and service. Relaxing venue.

Dinner was a five course menu with paired wines. Food was extremely detailed but average in taste, with the exception the of the sea bass. Wines were excellent, complimented the course well except the final dessert course. My main issue with the restaurant was the billing. Confusing at best, vailed deliberately at worst. Including a large service charge. There’s better options around.
