Botolphs Bridge Inn Pub & Restaurant in Shepway

Almost empty when we visited but a friendly welcome from the staff. No WiFi which shouldn't define it but unusual nowadays. Only had a drink today.

We had a pie and lamb with mint gravy. Food was really delicious. Service was good as well. Definitely comming back one day!

Lots of staff busy. but neeeded organisation we left after 20 mins of no drink or orders taken or acknowledgment of be with you soon..this is positive criticism i work in trade. Have some one taking orders. Someone doing drinks, someone bringing food , customers all round were complaining. Its a shame as its been chaos last 3 times we been in. Previously a 5 star review. I left and won't be returning. Avoid the grumpy mother in law who works sundays

We came here after a muddy walk locally. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Despite being really busy due to lots of people coming for Christmas lunches they seated us and let us order light bites from the menu. The staff were really friendly

Not many people in so not much in the way of atmosphere. Beef, bacon and port pie absolutely delish. Cottage pie was good with loads of cheese melted over the top. We were full up after that so didn't have dessert.

Tolles Lokal mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Alleine das Ambiente ist einen Besuch wert. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Frühstück am Sonntag. Wir waren einen Abend hier und auch zu einem Frühstück. Der Campingplatz ist fußläufig bei gutem Wetter zu erreichen. Allerdings ist die Straße ohne Fußweg und sehr eng.

We were staying locally at new beach caravan site and didn’t fancy going to the carvery next door and after asking for a few recommendations we came across Boltophs Bridge inn. We called on the Saturday and was able to get a table booked for Sunday. We ended up arriving ahead of hour before our booked time and were prepared to wait as it was down to us that we arrived early. We were shown to our table and sat and had a drink before ordering our food at 3pm which is when we had booked the table for. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was brilliant. My only thing which is personal to me is that I would have preferred crispier roast potatoes but that does not take away from the fact that it was a delicious Sunday roast. The puddings were from the special board and they were lovely too. Would definitely return next time we are in the area

This is a local pub haven’t been here for many years, fancied eating a Sunday roast out so booked a table. When we got there, there was no staff around we was standing at the bar for a good 10 mins before any staff showed up, took us to our table took our order for drinks and then meals. Now all our family love Gravy but our dinners came out swimming in it the the potatoes, Yorkshire, parsnips and burnt stuffing was swimming, they brought out to small dished of veg which was cooked ok and a bowl of cheesy cauliflower and Broccoli. Was not asked if we wanted any condiments, and wished they left the Gravy off and brought out in a Gravy boat. Iv had worse dinners but Iv had better to be honest. We decided to have pudding I had Jam roll poly and custard to take away which was a very heavy sponge, not really any jam in it, my daughters was ok and my grandsons was ok, unfortunately my husbands was awful he asked for a banoffee cheesecake which was nothing of the sort, it was a very small glass bowl with some biscuit in the bottom with a sloppy banana tasting something that hadn’t set with a load of chocolate powder sprinkled on top there was no banana or caramel type toffee that you would normally have as part of banoffee. Yes we should have told them but we didn’t. Maybe it was just an off day for them shame really as we won’t go back just no atmosphere, not a lot of staff or interaction no asking if we wanted any condiments yes we could of asked but shouldn’t have to. I don’t know just disappointed really as had good reports and looking at the pictures at their food they show on the website, was nothing like what we got!!

Very disappointing. Not busy when we visited but an hour's wait for roast lunch with no explanation for the delay nor any apology. No lamb roast available, one very small Yorkshire pud, small veg portions, (frozen?) spuds and watery gravy.

We asked mandy and dave to help us out with a funeral buffet for our mum it exceeded our expections thankyou x

Been here a few times with different family members. Its loud yet peaceful. Its full of characters who remind me what pubs are about. The staff are very friendly full of smiles and joy. The pimms is out of this World...my wife loves them. Loads of fruit. They also take the blue light card which is unusual for a pub and well received. Give it a go.

First time visiting the pub today and enjoyed a delicious roast lamb dinner. Food and service both great. Dog friendly and friendly locals.

Great value for the Sunday lunch. They were busy and had to wait too long for meal. Staff were pleasant though.

Good food. Slow, slow, slow service. Visited for Sunday lunch. To be fair it was busy, but to wait one hour for the main course, and another 35 minutes for a desert. Not acceptable. Our meals only arrived when I asked (not cimplained) for both courses. At least the food was good.

In response to the review by Mr Stephen Grant-Dawe, I am the said owner of the puppy who had the accident, she is only six months old and we are in the process of training her, unfortunately accidents happen and it was very embarrassing for all, we dealt with the situation as best we could, it is most unfair to give Botolphs bridge a bad rating, they are definitely a 5 star rating on all basis, food, friendliness, dog friendly, family pub.

Had a very good meal for four, very good service.

If your looking for good pub food that is well cooked and reasonably priced you should definitely give this pub a try. We had a lovely meal last night. The staff are very friendly and the service was good and there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere

To day at lunch a customers dog decided to have a poo in the middle of the bar Very Smelly. Customer then let the dog go to sleep, should have taken dog home.A bit like Boris Embarrassing. Dog owner needs training. Spoilt my meal We had to move tables

It was OK. Its been a lot better in the past. We all felt the dinners had got smaller.

A+++++++ You will be able to tell how good it is simply by how busy it is ! We sat by a roaring fire eating locally sourced Sunday roast drinking chilled moretti on draught . Brilliant value and a lovely family afternoon. Unpretentious food , surroundings and attentive staff. 11/10.

Working in the kitchen was lad called Jason, not only was he dashinly handsome and charming he could've done enough for us. We were so impressed with the service. The food is lovely. The atmosphere is welcomely and friendly. I would highly recommend going there to eat or just have a drink. 5 stars all the way. The staff work very hard. Leave a generous tip.!!

Can not recommend this place more I rang the phone number and I asked what time the place stopped serving food I was told 8pm and they were fully booked ok then as I would not be there till 8/20 I would miss the time I was asked if I knew what wanted I ordered paid over the phone and then when I got there they were ready with my order great service and good food thank you 👍🏻

Lovely pub and food right out in the country! Although it was a bit pricey, it was home made.

Stayed close by and visited the pub on two occasions. Just had drinks on the Saturday, staff were really nice, attentive and polite. I had Doom Bar which was excellent and my wife had a lovely Pinot Grigio. Again on Sunday lovely warm welcome from the landlady Mandy,this time for a meal. The roast was amazing, my wife had chicken and gammon, I had gammon. Beautiful homemade food, made by the landlady’s son Charlie. Would definitely recommend a visit and we’ll definitely be back!!

We normally have a decent meal but 4 of us ate last night. Starter prawn cocktail was lovely but I had chicken curry with hardly any chicken but alot of chick peas 🤔 the chips looked like they had been refried 3x & poppodoms couldn't touch as swimming in oil 😖

Family run and family friendly local pub. Good varied menu with weekly specials. Really good pies! Popular at lunch times and weekend so maybe book a table. They do home-made chips which are old school amazing. Kids meals are huge.

Food was lovely I had liver and bacon mash and veg cooked just right

FINALLY.... A pub that delivers what they promise. Definitely homemade, Definitely fresh and definitely worth every penny. And the bonus, we even got to see the promised option of the giraffes. We'll be returning to sample the other delights on the menu. We had the Calamari and meatball (homemade) starters and then the fish and chips.... Delicious delicious delicious... the chef is clearly a keeper

Great pub great food, now moved down here and this is my local, can highly recommend as the atmosphere is family friendly the staff are fantastic and the food is the best pub grub around. Had a 3 course meal today (18-8-21) served by the Manageress Leigh, and can safely say the best pub meal I've had, service and food superb, food sourced locally, I may be a bit bias, but tend to tell the way it is (see review for elephant and hind, Dover). All in all not rushed, and going by the look on the faces of other punters everyone was pleased.

Had a lovely lunch. The best steak and ale pie I have had. The desert was great too.

We have eaten here before inside, it's clean and well presented. We ate outside this time as weather was lovely. They have made the best of the outside space they have and its cosy and feels welcoming. The food is always excellent here and I have had no issues in the many times we have visited. The staff are polite and helpful. On another occasion I had arranged lunch with a friend and unfortunately my grandson broke his arm and I had to go to the hospital as it was not straight forward. With all the drama I forgot to cancel until the last minute and I must say how amazing the lady was on the phone, she recognised the situation and was so polite and understanding ... really appreciated 😊

Not worth reserving a table , we waited ages for the main course which was a roast and were missing cauliflower cheese and were not told .They said they had loads of walk ins ,pity they didn't pay more attention to people who had reserved .

Staff are very friendly and food is excellent.

Apparently a woman on her own doesn't want serving. I was then told I could have interrupted one of the staff members who was sat chatting with a group. How was I to know she was staff???

We have visited a few times now and have been impressed with the menu which offers more variety than usual. There is a children's menu too. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and staff were friendly. We will certainly be back when we are in the area again.

Absolutely fantastic service, the wait and kitchen staff bent over backwards to look after me as I had dietary requirements, and made my friend and I feel right at home. Could not recommend enough!!

Went for lunch with a friend today. Service was excellent. Staff very attentive and pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. Food was really good and great value. Covid rules meant currently eating outside and sadly it was very cold but no ones fault. Perhaps a couple of outdoor heaters would be a bonus funds allowing. Overall really enjoyed our time time here and will definitely be back perhaps when indoor dining allowed again or the weather changes for the better. Please support the local pubs they are a dying breed.

I haven't been to this local pub for a while, had a lovely roast with my friend. She had the vegan option that was vegan, look very nice and well presented. Very friendly staff and a pleasant seating garden area in the Sun couldn't ask for more on a Sundays afternoon...I would return for sure and recommend.

Nice sunny day - so good to be able to return. Chef was on fine form - best piece of salmon I've ever enjoyed. Nice music in the background (no rave going on!) Very attentive staff with plenty of good manners and customer focus - and a lovely atmosphere.

Nice pub. Nice quiet location. Ruined by the chef's and serving staff. Children in the garden, while the chef's okay explicit drum and bass loudly. Pubs for the customers to enjoy, not the staff to have s rave. Serving staff treatyou as a hindrance to an easy days pay. Lack of manners, lack of customer focus.

Fantastic pub, highly recommended

First time we got to come back in ages and always met with a smile well remembered for our dogs who I think are deffo more popular than us everyone is friendly and feels like you know everyone good company good food good variety of beer, spirits and soft drinks what more could you want!

we were staying locally and wanted somewhere to eat for the evening.. looked at trip advisor....booked a table and we were happy we did... As soon as we walked in you could feel a relaxed atmosphere, a log fire was burning... it was warm and friendly..the staff were lovely...the food was excellent.... real value for money...when we are next in the area we will definitely be booking a table!!
