We discovered Baffled Deli in Old Portsmouth today. Really delicious coffee and amazing sandwiches. Can thoroughly recommend.

The place does amazing food, coffee and cakes. It's definitely a treat as it is quite pricey but very high quality food and I believe they make all the bread, focaccia and cakes in house. I love the Chicken Milanese and my partner loves the Salt Beef and Reuben.

They have done so well with the limited space they have. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is always good music playing. Their breakfasts are wholesome, I especially love the salt beef, and they are happy to cater to my obscure dietary requirements. Great coffee too!

Great place for brunch .. small cosy ..great atmosphere

Great place situated on Fawcett Road. Food is excellent especially the Baffled Meat and salmon bagel! Great choice and range or coffee's, smoothies and other hot drinks. Cakes are also very good lots of choice. I took my brother into Baffled last weekend along with my Dad and they were both very impressed. My brother lives in London and he said the Baffled Meat was a lot better than some of the really expensive breakfast places in London. Staff are all very friendly, polite and assertive. Atmosphere is great too. Highly recommend 👍🏻

2024 update: Just had the Baffled Meat breakfast for the umpteenth time, and thought I should tell people how good all the breakfasts are, here! And now they're opening a couple of evenings, too (Thursday & Friday, atm, changing to Friday and Saturday from Feb'24) - booking recommended! 2022 review: Despite the name, this is not just a coffee shop. I've tried several of their delicious sandwiches, both hot and cold, over the last couple of months and then yesterday, a group of us tried their chicken salad (with separate, super tasty dressing), roast vegetable salad and, for pudding, triple chocolate brownies - they were all absolutely superb. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Baffled is my favourite coffee shop to go to! Really friendly team and atmosphere. Fantastic place to get a laptop out and get your admin done! Also, loving the new vegan option additions to the menu!

The breckfast was horrible, steamy slimy smoked bacon with loads of fat on it , and gone off hash browns , when u cut into them they just fall apart ,worst I seen in a long time . They don’t even give you toast with your breakfast , or beans , like hello !, and the price is way to much

Food is always brilliant - though the tea could be stronger! Always packed, but that’s the sign of a great place. Recommend.

Located in the Fratton area, not far from Fratton Railway Station, in Fawcett Road, the location is slightly off the tourist areas of Portsmouth, but they have a great collection of quality food and drink, including breakfast and brunch They have just started doing an evening menu towards the end of the week I had a smoked salmon with cream cheese bagel and an almond pain au chocolat with a small latte, the bagel was warm, something you sometimes do not get, They also have a smaller branch in Broad Street , Old Portsmouth located not far from Gunwharf , with my favourite , cinnamon roll, sadly not available on the day, just across the quiet road , near Oyster House, there are some benches, which overlooks Portsmouth Harbour with views towards IOW, They also have a kiosk on Southsea beach, which because of its location is sometimes not open, at the moment and the forseeable future because of ongoing sea defences work the kiosk is next to the fenced off area The Briny Restaurant close by is still open despite the ongoing defences work

Best latte I’ve had in ages. They know how to make a proper one. Will come back if I’m in the area

Drinks were really good. Cooked breakfast not so good, bacon hard and over cooked, hard egg yolks, soggy hash browns, poor quality sausage and no beans. No condiments offered, no table salt just rock salt available. Friendly service and welcoming comfortable atmosphere though. Only 1 toilet.

Breakfast was different. Not normal sausage or bacon. Eggs fried but hard. Toast is extra no beans. Coffee was good everything was expensive.

Had to come on here and say how great baffled is. Their breakfast deals slap and their coffee is top-tier. Came in for a takeaway this morning, staff are lovely, food is banging. 10/10 would recommend, especially the peanut crunch slice.

The food from this cafe is great! Recently had a mix up of a delivery order and ended up with the wrong sandwich but they have sent vouchers to make up for this. Will definitely be visiting again!

Cudowne miejsce! Bardzo klimatyczne, sporo miejsca w środku. Ale przede wszystkim to genialne jedzenie - w ciemno i bez przygotowania można przychodzić na śniadanie. I wyjść bardziej niż ukontentowanym przecudownymi muffinkami, bajglami czy tostowanym pieczywem. Dodatki obłędnie smakują, są naprawdę duże, a dodatkowo kuszą desery i wypieki. Polecam!

One of our favourite locals for breakfast, lunch and coffee to go (perfect for early morning dog walks). We’re still working our way through the menu, but for now our favourites are the Reuben (you won’t regret it!), the super green smoothie and house Dahl (look out for the lunch time specials). Also dog friendly with plenty of space for our giant lab to stretch out!

I'm very lucky to have this place on my doorstep! Lovely friendly staff. Nice surroundings. Great quality food, with a varied menu., plus fabulous coffee. You must try !

First time me and my husband visited this cafe heard alot about it so we checked it out a lite bite was delicious so we wanted to try out the salted beef poached eggs Benedicts nex day ,was so delicious we will be coming back there again I recommend this cafe 👌

Great local coffee shop/ cafe for breakfast and brunch style menu. Great service from Molly who had just recently started at the cafe. I had the £12 deli sandwich, coffee and muffin deal, brilliant coffee and muffin however my avocado halloumi baguette was very cold and my wife had the grilled cheese/ vegan sausage sandwich.

I have only tried coffee and cake at this cafe and was not overly impressed. The brownie was very average - very hard and the edges dry and crumbly, and it was also small. Not impressed when it cost £4. My iced coffee - which was mostly ice, was also £4, so overall it felt poor value for money. On another occasion I had carrot cake, which to be fair was very moist, but the icing was eye wateringly sharp/tangy (and I am not a fan of overly sweet icing), which just tasted a bit odd. The savoury food sounds and looks nice but I doubt I will return.

Really good coffee, but music played at just under the pain threshold volume........I was not able to hold a conversation, it I said a coffee shop not a seventies disco. Like the coffee but never again.

I had 40 minutes between trains at Fratton station so I went off looking for some lunch and stumbled across this place. Great flat white and the most incredible ham and cheese baguette 🤤 The staff were kind and friendly, adding some ice to my water bottle when I asked if they’d mind refilling it from the tap. I look forward to the next time I find myself waiting for a connection in Fratton!

TA came up with this when we were looking for breakfast after coming off the ferry from France. Fab selection of croissants and muffins to go with their Own blend coffee which is excellent. However they have different from your full English for breakfast. We had Salt Beef Eggs Benedict….which was an amazing combination, the Hollandaise Sauce was made on the spot and not made from a packet for our meal. We watched all manner of food go past and all looked fantastic. It’s not a big place and parking is on the street outside. Special mention for Miah who was friendly and efficient as well as being cheerful at 0830am.

Baffled is probably the best place for coffee in Southsea. The coffee is good, the food is great, and perfect for getting set up for the day. Staff are very attentive and there always seems to be somewhere to sit, however busy it gets. My favourite thing about it is that a quick espresso is currently only £1 so I don't have to feel guilty for my wallet when I want a coffee as well as a soft drink.

Taken here by my daughter for a fathers day treat. We hadn't booked but we found a lovely spot in their small garden area. What immediately drew my attention was the varied menu. They go go the extra mile to put their own stamp brunch staples and also have less familiar dishes like kedgeree, which I haven't seen on anybody else's menu in a long time. I was very tempted by the kedgeree but finally chose the salt beef benedict, which was delicious.

I just had a takeaway flat white and an almond croissant, both of which were very good. They have loyalty cards for hot drinks and if you take your own cup you get two stamps on your card, which will encourage me to return. Friendly service.

Went here after having a cheesesteak at Victorious Festival last year (which I thought was the best food I’ve ever had at a festival) honestly the food was just as good and if not better this time round. Milkshakes also perfect.

Fantastic coffee ☕ and I had a bagle which arrived warm and filled with cream cheese and salmon. Absolutely scrumptious. I'll be back when I'm in portsmouth again.

Having been he before and had a nice breakfast that is the last time How in hell serve a full English with No toast and no beans I didn't stay come on it's a Full English breakfast

Second time there and again a fabolous experience. Service was really good and the food is superb and in good portions. There are different areas where yo enjoy your meal. Nice and cozy coffee shop with lots of quality sandwiches and cakes. Highly recommended.

Great coffee, lovely homemade cakes and baguettes. Have visited Fawcett Rd, Old Portsmouth and the kiosk on the beach. Service always very good. I just wish that their place in Old Portsmouth was bigger as love the area, but you can't always get a seat due to its popularity.

A delicious lunch at this small but local cafe. Soup and a sandwich, lunch deal which included coffee and cake! Excellent, freshly made, good service, definitely return.

Coffee is good, don’t get me wrong! They’re dog friendly and place is nice. Two stars down because medium oat cappuccino cost me £4.10. Unfortunately too steep for just one medium coffee and not really affordable.

Lovely local coffee shop. Get the salt beef in the reuben, it's the best! We were really enjoying getting salt beef bagels from the old Portsmouth one but the new bagels are horrible, doughy and are more like circular bread, don't hold the fillings well at all as it all slips out. Last bagels were so tasty authentic and held together. Staff in Fawcett road are absolutely wonderful!

We visited the shop in Old Portsmouth this morning. The service was great, Paddy was welcoming and very helpful. Food was amazing too, we will be back.

Just wonderful 😊 Great coffee blend and outstanding cakes! Breakfast was delicious too! Only gripe was that the "grilled haloumi" in my sandwich was cold, and therefore very hard. Pre-grilled and cold was not what I was expecting. I expected that the grilled haloumi would be warm- I didn't clarify and I guess it's my preference but that's my only gripe. Otherwise it was nice! Will be back!

I don't tend to review too often, but I've been meaning to stop here for a bite to eat since starting to work locally. I wasn't disappointed. Nice welcoming staff and great vibe to the place. Drink came out quickly, the food a little longer but well worth the wait. Confit of Pork stew appeared to be freshly cooked, was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for a hearty lunch.

Such a hidden gem ! Always great coffee to wake you up in the morning and friendly staff to help you with whatever you need. There are many gluten free cakes and amazing sandwiches too !!!

We fell into this tiny coffee shop without any expectations - it seemed to be the only nice looking cafe around this pretty part of town. What a delightful surprise. Possibly the best simple lunch either of us have had anywhere in the world ever....

It’s hard to see how these folks make money, what with funding the private school education of a Guatemalan coffee plantation workers children. You do get what you pay for. Produce is premium. The soya cappuccino good by all accounts… except the price.

Lovely little coffee place, little snug on the seating but food is gorgeous and menu is varied. Cakes are the best thing here though so take away is also a must!!! Could recommend it more.

I visited this place The cafe this morning. I had The best Avocado with poached eggs in my life . This is one the best cafes in Portsmouth .

Their coffee and customer service are both excellent, the atmosphere is calm and positive, and almost all their cakes are GF which is nearly unheard of.
