Swellies Cafe

Y Felinheli, Gwynedd, <20£
15/03/2019: Lovly relaxed atmosphere and great service . Food always the best quality and very tasty . One of the best places around for a Mocha or any coffee ..
12/03/2019: Great menu choices, excellent service and very tasty food that arrived quickly. The haloumi dishes are really tasty. It’s a nice location on the quayside with inside and outside seating areas. First time we’ve been here, and will be back!

Caffi Gwynant

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd, <20£
06/03/2019: My wife asked where I wanted to go for dinner for my birthday. I decided that I'd prefer to have lunch at Caffi Gwynant, as it is the best food I've had in North Wales since we moved here 4 years ago (home cooking excepted - ahem!)
03/03/2019: We were up visiting from Swansea for the weekend and I had told all our friends how amazing the food is at Caffi Gwynant and they all agreed so we ate there 3 times in 3 days. Sadly missed breakfast because we all got up too late but the highlights were definitely the specials which was a griddle aubergine, tahini dressing with flatbread... It was so bloody good. Others loved the soup, the chicken waffle, roasted veg wrap and my husband had another special which was a morrocan spiced lamb burger (I may have had several notes). Looking forward to coming up with the kids soon. Thanks for the delicious food and warm welcome!

Cleopatra's Coffee Shop

Holt, Wrexham, <20£
07/03/2019: Came for a late breakfast and was very impressed, full English with a side of waffles with bacon and maple syrup went down a treat. Really beautiful place in a lovely location. Will deffinately be coming again:)
11/02/2019: What a hidden gem of a place this is. We took a detour having stayed overnight at Carden Park Hotel and stopped for a light lunch at Cleopatra's. A warm welcome awaited as we opened the door to find a larger than expected coffee shop Bistro. The service was exceptional but moreover the food was outstanding. I had the home made Butternut and chilli soup and I have to say I have tried to recreate it on several occasions since returning home but nothing matches the flavour! My husband had a toastie which he said was very tasty and well garnished. We both could have sat and waited until we were both hungry again but felt we might outstay our welcome! We will definitely return when next in the area. Many thanks

Bwyty Mawddach Restaurant

Brithdir and Llanfachreth/Ganllwyd/Llanelltyd, Gwynedd
03/03/2019: You’ll find the Bwyty Mawddach two miles from Dolgellau in the village of Llanelltyd, just off the A496 to Barmouth. The restaurant itself is actually a cleverly converted barn, the main feature of which is a huge window with spectacular views across the Mawddach estuary to the peaks of Cader Idris. In seasonable weather you can sit outside to enjoy your meal in this lovely location.
03/03/2019: We went here for a special occasion with some friends and had an excellent meal. This is our favourite restaurant. Well worth a visit

07/03/2019: Wow what can I say we came here for my partner's birthday we were staying at Ruthin Castle for the week. I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and this has to be in my top 5 absolutely beautiful the food to die for, the people so friendly and accommodating, we even went back the next night for more and they were fully booked but managed to seat us in the bar area. We just wish we lived closer but we will be back. Thank you

10/03/2019: We pop in here for an ice creamery year on on visit to conwy,
03/03/2019: I’d never heard of Parisella’s before visiting Conwy and assume that they are a lot cal company. They do a very good range of ice creams and they are delicious. My wife and I sampled the salted caramel and the coffee flavours and they were the best we have ever eaten.

The Ship Inn

Morfa Nefyn, Gwynedd
28/02/2019: Been going to the The Ship for years. Never had a bad meal. Always plenty of choice and the Specials are ‘Special’! First place we head to when ever we’re down in Nefyn or Morfa Nefyn. Staff are friendly as is ‘The Boss’. In the evening we find it nice that kids under 10 don’t go in. After a long day with grandkids etc. Nice to be child free!
27/02/2019: We went here based on Tripadvisor reviews as our first meal out for honeymoon in North Wales. It far exceeding our expectations. The quality of the food was fantastic, thorough menu choices and a relaxing atmosphere. We loved it so much we went back the next night. Recommend going early- we went 5.15 -5.30pm both nights to get the best seats as it packs up later on in the evening.

Dudley Arms

Llandrillo, Denbighshire
04/03/2019: Fantastic pub with a friendly welcome. Stayed at the local cottages called Rivercatcher and decided to take a leisurely 15min walk to this pub on the Friday night. We sampled a few beers and decided to book for Sunday lunch for 10 people.
03/03/2019: Following a trip over the Wayfarer’s path in the Land Rover from Llanarmon DC. Really good especially as the rugby was on in the bar! Llandrillo is a nice village, well kept and seems to be a friendly place too.

13/03/2019: Return visit and again, fresh, tasty fish and chips with great option on fish size and either cod or haddock. Staff very friendly and helpful. Faultless.
11/03/2019: This Fish and Chip shop was 100m away from our holiday rental so could scarcely have been more convenient for our first night.

Black Lion

Corris/Mawddwy, Gwynedd
18/03/2019: Had lovely meal, very reasonable prices. Lovely friendly atmosphere, great service . Well used by locals, which is always a good sign.
27/02/2019: Great food and good value. Lots of it and very tasty plus a good selection to choose from. A new benchmark for eating out. Parking is a bit of an issue (we got blocked in) but it wouldn't put me off a return visit and not sure if there is anything that could be done due to a lack of space (I know some people park across the road but my mum has difficulty walking).

The White Eagle

Trearddur, Isle of Anglesey
11/03/2019: This is the restaurant for the resort site and is newly refurbished. Very good selection on the menu and well-presented. Staff friendly and welcoming. It was quiet when we were there so not much atmosphere but imagine it would be more vibrant later in the season.
10/03/2019: My partner and I went in for a quick coffee and were so tempted by the dishes being served to the table around us that we stayed for a light lunch. We each ordered the hot steak and cheese sandwiches and fries,They were delicious. The service was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We will deffinately be back.

Castell Deudraeth Brasserie

Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, >100£
25/02/2019: We had lunch. We were served exceptionally well by the staff. The venue is impressive and inspiring. The food was attractive and delicious. We had a wonderful visit.
24/02/2019: Had a meal with friends to celebrate a special birthday. I had the three course set meal as well as some of the other people in my party. I had chicken strips starter not very nice!! Thick batter which was also very greasy!! Unfortunately I expected them to be breaded chicken as I also ordered cod as my main meal which again had thick greasy batter!! Much too much,, batter. However, the fish was lovely. But I must say although we had a lovely afternoon, I did expect something more of quality!! At Castell Deudraeth!! Won’t be rushing back!

Ainsworth's Traditional Fish & Chips

Seiont, Gwynedd
19/03/2019: Very well reviewed and and we can see why, really nice cod and chips, looks like the place the locals go to, usually a sign you know you are in the right place
17/03/2019: Lots of reviews say this place is great, but I can tell you that last Saturday night it was pretty poor for me. A cone of chips, a small cone at that, for three quid is never going to float my boat to be fair, but to have to wait the thick end of fifteen minutes to get it didn't make it any better. It's only round the corner to Wetherspoons and you'll get treated a great deal better there
