We were travelling home to England and all needed a breakfast ! We initially drove into the centre of Criccieth to find other cafes busy. We decided to journey home and stop at a roadside cafe if and when we saw one! Further down the road I saw a sign for Cafe and Fisheries and we immediately turned left and thank goodness we did ! We followed the forest road and came to a small pond and benches some swings and a cafe ! They allowed dogs which was great and as the weather was sunny we walked through the cafe and to the other side to a decked area overlooking a beautiful lake. The cafe was popular and some people we eating teas a cakes which also looked amazing ! We ordered 4 large breakfasts and were not disappointed ! Lovely friendly service and lovely food with a lovely view ! So glad we found this haven and didn’t get a bacon buttie from Criccieth as originally planned . This will definitely be our homeward journey breakfast stop off from now on !

An excellent brunch and very peaceful surroundings. We were coming back from Pwllheli and needed to stop for brunch, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, it was a nice day so we sat on the balcony overlooking the angling lake, which was so tranquil. We both had an all day breakfast, which was good value and delicious. Not really much to add other than worth stopping by for a snack when driving along the A497.

This is a lovely cafe with views over the fishing lakes. It adjoins the caravan park and there's a short path so made it really handy for a full cooked 'fisherman's breakfast' on our last day. All the components - eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown etc etc were included, cooked well and are good value with a mug of tea or coffee. They also do lunches and cakes but check opening hours first in the winter months.

What a well kept secret! Lovely and clean, friendly and yummee food (Welsh Rarebit, chips and peas). We chose to sit outside even though it was a bit chilly and drizzly. We live locally but had never been here before, but we’ll be back. Good vale too.

Beautiful food and setting. Lady serving was unwelcoming and unfriendly. Breakfast was lovely and the guy there was friendly just the older lady was extremely rude this morning so I don’t think we will go back. I moved the umbrella on our table as it was blocking the view and shading the table next to us when we put it up. She was so rude about it.

Have driven past a few times and wondered what it was like, so followed the sign off the main road from Cricceth to Porthmadog, and what a find. Beautiful, peaceful, lovely people and enjoyed a first class toasted cheese sandwich with pot of tea. the sandwich was served with all the trimmings which was totally unexpected. Will definitely return.

Just visited this delightful cafe for the first time... Popped in on the way home after a long day walking with our dogs at hell's mouth. Was made to feel very welcome with our 2 dogs. Naturally they must stay away from the main fishing lake (our water loving Lab would have caused mischief given half a chance!!). However sat at a lovely spot overlooking a smaller lake and apparently dogs are allowed inside as well in a certain section..Only wanted a snack but had a very tasty sandwich which came with a healthy side salad with coleslaw unlike the tasteless iceberg lettuce that can so often accompany food. Will definitely be back again as have my eye on their cooked breakfast which gets so many rave reviews. So glad to have found a new eatery as we only live 30mins away. Lovely setting, tasty food, dog friendly and very welcoming staff... Perfect!!

Travelling along the main road looking for a watering hole, we noticed the sign 'Lakeside Cafe'. Located about 200 yards from the main road, this is a delightful setting overlooking a lake and woods with outside seating. We just had coffee, tea, Victoria sponge and sherry trifle, but all well made/cooked. Very friendly staff and clean toilets. Just what we needed for a quick visit, and we will be delighted to come back.Note that the cafe is not in Criccieth, but in Pentre Felin - actually closer to Porthmadog than Criccieth. It is part of the Eisteddfa fishery business.

For the past 2 years we've come here for breakfast on the day we leave Eisteddfa Campsite after our annual holiday. As there's so many of us (24) we've booked ahead the day before & the staff have been fantastic coping with everyone's choices. The food is fabulous whether it's a huge bowl of homemade porridge, toast or the full Welsh breakfast, not to mention bacon & sausage/egg baps, scrambled egg on toast, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, juice... Quality of the food is excellent & it's all piping hot & freshly made. Would highly recommend. We'll definitely be back next year!!

We have been staying at the campsite down the road and decided to take a walk to the fisheries and cafe. Our 2 sons have never fished before and were dying to try it. They were given equipment and beginners tips by the extremely patient gentleman who runs the shop and we spent several hours fishing and caught several fish. My children were ecstatic!!!The cafe itself is spotlessly clean, light and airy. The staff are some of the most friendly and welcoming I have met. We had the Welsh cream tea and was not disappointed. They have a variety of food and drinks to offer at very reasonable prices. I would absolutely recommend the fisheries and caffi cedron to abyone who wants a relaxing brew in a friendly atmosphere.

It is wheelchair accessible, but the new carpark is close enough, and the groud level, that the wheelchair was not required.

Other wise this cafe was amazing I will defiantly be going back when I visit Wales again there is definitely something for everybody there.

We went to this fishery for the first time in July when I was on holiday with my family. While there we went to this cafe and had sausages, chips and beans - they were delicious and not very expensive either. I found the cafe to be very clean and owners and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My dad went fishing on the fly fishing lake one evening and had a mince beef pie, chips and peas plus a hot cup of tea delivered to his peg - needless to say he was chuffed to bits ! This place is a little hidden gem and we will definately be returning whenever we are next in the area .

The first visit was to leave him there to fish for the day while I took to my feet to walk to criccieth beach. We have a lovely breakfast before he started his day and I mine. Lovely staff and nice fresh clean surroundings with view of the lakes. I believe my OH also bought lunch there which he enjoyed. Our second visit was after we packed the tent away to come home. Just returned from a week away over half term,on the campsite next to this great little cafe. We traipsed in, two bedraggled and tired adults after a rough night under canvas, with our 5 and 2 year old in tow, a little fed up of our pathetic attempts at breakfast of the past few days, in need of warmth and a good breakfast. Four breakfasts of differing size and two big lattes were ordered. The lady who served us could not have been more friendly and welcoming, the place was comfortable, warm (with telly on for the news, we were camping remember!) and in an indecently short space of time our lovely breakfasts arrived, devoured by myself and my partner and virtually inhaled by the kids. Free coffee refills too! Family friendly, extremely welcoming, great food and a picturesque location. We only very reluctantly returned to the delights of the Welsh early Summer weather. Definitely, definitely worth considering for breakfast if you are anywhere near this area, look for the signpost for the campsite, fishery and cafe just before you enter Criccieth from Porthmadog on the main road.
