Tŷ Winsh in Gwynedd

One of my favourite places to eat in Caernarfon. Food is always fantastic, staff are so friendly. I always go for the omelette ( to die for )dishes , delicious 👌. It’s a very clean & welcoming environment with quite a few locals, a good sign I think. Please give it a try, owner has had a tough time keeping going due to storm damage and had to close for a few months last year. You won’t regret it.

What's not to like?! Gorgeous food, gorgeous staff in a gorgeous cafe. I love the freshness of the food and high quality. The breakfasts are blisfull and lunchtime the Wagu burgers are amazing. There's always plenty of cake to choose from if you prefer made by the owner Marek. You won't be dissapointed! Even the coffee is a beautiful blend by the award winning barrista Marek ♡

Always a warm welcome here from Marek, Kev and Sandra. Beautiful tasty breakfast and the owner filled up his Boss Man Coffee Cup so I could have an extra large Americano ! That's service for you! Dogs welcome 🤗. If you haven't been then give it a go you won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful place! We popped in on the off chance for coffee and cake, had the most fabulous welcome and the cake was divine!! A place with warmth and friendliness as well as being spotlessly clean! We will be back!

Always a warm welcome from Marek and his team, really good food and superb Coffee. Café has recently been renovated to a high standard and although small from the outside deceptively bigger on the inside. Coffee is very tasty and made with care, cakes are homemade very tasty and a good size portion. Dogs are also welcomed here which is a massive bonus as not many places in town are as welcoming. Highly recommended

Excellent food , owners were lovely. Went the extra mile to make us welcome. Even gave us a blanket for our dog. Coffee 10/10. Even helped us to find the nearest charging station for our car. Would definitely return when visiting the area again. !

RUDE MALE STAFF would not allow me to use restroom at 38 weeks pregnant. And to reply to your rude response, If a MAN thinks it’s acceptable to refuse a heavily pregnant woman the right to use the toilet not only is it unacceptable it’s inhumane. You could clearly see me struggling to walk through the door after travelling for hours I was nice and polite I even showed you my huge bump and begged, your response to be. Do you know how many people ask to use the toilet here? If you find this an acceptable way to treat women not only is it sexist, it’s discriminatory. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever know anyone to refuse anyone pregnant the right to use the toilet. And to add to your comment on my sisters review, could you please provide evidence that I said ‘I can’t use that because it’s 20p’ as that is a blatant LIE and you are obviously discriminating against me because of my travel wear. And to follow on again from your most recent edited response, you obviously do lie as you’ve tried to portray me as having little or no money by lying about not having 20p. Although such a statement is demoralising, as a single parent I do not care about this portrayal as women, mums and any other human being could be in an unfortunate situation and should still be able to use a restroom. I would like to thank you for your most recent response as you have clearly shown you have no morals and care more about money than vulnerable women and mums and any human rights. I can honestly say I’ve never met such a misogynistic discriminatory sexist male, and would love to know your views on breastfeeding as I can imagine you would rather redirect them to the nearest bench.

My sister really needed to use the toilet. Heavily pregnant and was refused by the male member of staff.(he was extremely rude) For this I would not want to eat here if that’s how there going to treat people. Following your comment your attitude says it all and at not one pint did you direct her or let her know about the said toilets. Regarding your further comment I do not understand why you’re now giving false information. I have spoke to my sister and she does not know why you have just lied 😆 You told her “do you know how many people use these toilets “ in a rude manner. Obviously not pregnant woman. If I came in and you said no it would not phase me as I’m not pregnant I think you need to look up the word kindness and compassion as you clearly lack both

Wonderful coffee, uniquely presented and very welcoming atmosphere with great service.

Just discovered this cafe, the coffee was one of the best I have had. We had homemade mushroom soup with a warm fresh bread roll. Absolutely delicious. The cafe was welcoming and the staff attentive

Customer service is second to none! Nicely decorated, great coffee and tasty freshly made food. Pop in before you go to the cinema next door. Easy parking across the road and on weekends you can park in the council car park next door. Love that it’s dog friendly too. Highly recommended

Cracking little cafe, friendly staff and gorgeous coffee and hot chocolate.

Best coffee ever. But more than that, the service is friendly and professional. Marek is a genius operating the coffee machine with the flair and skill of a concert pianist at the grand piano. The rest of the team dished up some nice food and great conversation. Definitely worth visiting.

Loved our visit to Caffi Ty Winsh. A lovely warm and welcoming establishment. We had excellent hot drinks, delicious home baked cakes and a game of dominoes on the sofa. The visit was the highlight of our morning. The owner was super friendly and very attentive. He makes a mean Flat white too. We will be back to try the food in the near future. Many thanks

We live locally but had somehow never visited before. I'm so glad we did as we will definitely be back. We had such a friendly welcome and we really enjoyed our drinks and cake. My chai latte was delicious and not too sweet and we enjoyed a game of dominoes (games provided) on the comfy sofa in the window. It is clear that the owner takes every possible care to make visiting the cafe a great experience- the friendliness, choice of quality food and drink, reasonable prices, lovely decor and cleanliness absolutely deserve 5 stars!

Had lunch here with my mam. Food was incredible and the coffee art was like nothing I had ever seen before, plus tasted great too! Service was lovely, everyone was so friendly, would highly recommend

I went to caffi winsh with friends for lunch and a coffee. The caffi is lovely, the atmosphere was really relaxed and welcoming, i could have stayed all day! The coffee was amazing, cakes were delicious - i had the maple and pecan slice. Id recommend anyone in the area to pop in for some food and coffee. The winner for me though… they make the best tuna and pineapple panini 😂🙌 if you've not tried that combination you're missing out ☺️

We stopped off for lunch on the way back from a trip to Nefyn- we were blown away!! Great food (the rarebit was amazing) and great drinks (coffees, hot chocolates all went down a treat!). What made this place so special was Marek and his wonderful team- they were all so welcoming and joyful!! If you’re in the area definitely worth a visit!! Thank you, Marek- we will be back!!

A wonderful little cafe with a nice and knowledgeable owner. Nicely decorated inside, good coffee and the most delicious cheese-on-toast (the secret is mustard and Guinness) I've ever had. Excellent. Lovely little café, beautifully decorated with friendly and knowledgeable owners who clearly take pride in their business. Fab coffee and honestly the tastiest Welsh Rarebit, by far, that I have ever tasted. :)

Arrived with minutes to spare on their breakfast times and the owner was more than happy to sort two of us out. Food was really nice and the staff were really pleasant; nice atmosphere inside. Would definitely recommend!

The highlight of our entire holiday. Lovely fresh food, served up in plenty of time. The most lovely coffee I have had in a very long time. Can’t rate this place highly enough! The atmosphere, hospitality, coffee and food were exemplary (so much so that we had to visit for a second time before leaving the area). The team aren’t just dog friendly, they are dog lovers and spoilt our pup with treats and cuddles. Thank you!

Fantastic find. Don't be deceived as the place is much larger than it looks! Beautifully decorated and the staff are wonderful. Cakes and tea were perfect and very reasonably priced. Give it a go. You won't be disappointed!

The best cafe in Wales in my experience.

Just go for Marek. He bakes mighty cakes, creates the cutest latte art and is Wales’ friendliest guy. Give yourself a raise! He even told us he moved the coffee machine to the side so he doesn’t face away from the customers. That describes him to a tee.

Had a lovely cooked breakfast, possibly the best one I’ve ever had. Each item was of really good quality. Also a tasty Welsh Rarebit. And beautifully presented fresh coffee. The owner served us and obviously took a pride in his business. Situated right by dockside in Caernarfon. 3 car parks right next door. We’ll be back!

We would like to give this cafe 10 stars. The food and drinks were delicious, the atmosphere it’s wonderful and the staff are so kind. Me and my wife were really well looked after, and our newborn and our dog were treated like royalty. This cafe is founded on good food and friendly people. I wish ALL cafes were like this! We will return :)

What an enjoyable experience we had today at Caffi Ty Winsh.!! Firstly,The staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate our disabled son and his wheelchair. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial. The freshly cooked food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and even our spaniel felt special with the treats she was given. A great experience and one we hope to repeat very soon. Wonderful cafe incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Food was very good, had a ham and cheese omelette it was delightful, coffee strong and tasty and wonderful selection of cakes and traybakes..the brownie and millionaire shortbread were fantastic (shared). Great location very close to the castle.

My husband and I with our little dog stumbled across this little gem whilst out walking. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and a big fuss of our dog Yogi. We ordered two lattes, a mushroom omelette and a toasted panini. The food was delicious and presented lovely and Yogi enjoyed his treats. The interior of the cafe is bright and cosy and the toilet immaculate. We'll definitely be returning!

Stopped in Carnarvon on a van trip. This cafe looked to be the best based on reviews and it really was! Service from a lovely man from the minute we entered, made us feel very welcome, food prices very reasonable! Coffee was decent too! We wandered the town after breakfast, and couldn't help grabbing another coffee to takeaway on our travels with us! Big thanks to the man and his cafe ❤️☕

What a fantastic place! Marek and Kevin were warm and welcoming from the moment I stepped through the door. Marek took great care of us. He facilitated a much-needed break from toddler parenting by helping us get our stroller and sleeping baby inside and positioned out of range of disturbance, as well as making sure we had fresh hot drinks ready to devour as soon as we sat down. Great conversation and friendly faces with delicious snacks and drinks. A little bit of heaven in this unassuming café! ❤️ thank you!

We weren't able to eat here. The staff very kindly warned us that the food would be a long while coming so we went elsewhere aswe had a train to catch.

Great coffee shop for a drink and a meal. The staff were all super nice, very friendly and we really liked the latte art using vanilla and some colouring - very original! Would definitely recommend it if you're in the neighbourhood!

As an extremely anxious person, I immediately felt welcome and comfortable here. Friendly people running it, the coffee and cake are delicious and they had a few treats for my dog too. Beautiful latte art as well!

If you are looking for somewhere dog friendly, with amazing service a super friendly atmosphere and great food then this absolute gem is THE place. My only regret is that i haven't popped in sooner. My dog was not only welcome but completely spoiled with treats and fusses. The food was yummy and the owner was so friendly. Every customer gets the best service whether ordering food or just dropping in for a coffee. Honestly, this is my new favourite place and it's right on my doorstep, i will definitely be dropping by again soon....my dog will make sure of it!!

The coffee walnut cake and lemon meringue cakes were yummy. Coffees were great. The service was excellent, we could appreciate the owners passion. The atmosphere was amazing, just a tad cold. Lovely find in need of a cozy coffee stop.

Cosy cafe. Nice food, a bit slow. Tea could be stronger. Very pleasant staff. Shame the cakes in the fridge are covered in cling film, not good presentation, better covers to be had.

Called in here before and after going to see a film at Galeri. Lovely friendly staff, food delicious and a good price. Really warm inside and so clean and airy. A little treasure of a place, will definately be back and highly recommend

Stopped by for lunch on Saturday afternoon. It was fantastic. 2 burgers (lamb and mint), some v-cut chips and 1 Rarebit. High quality produce cooked extremely well. Drinks were tea and a couple of Mochas. The latter were the best ever tasted. Service is friendly and the cafe has a cosy feel. We had no room for homemade cake but that just gave us an excuse to take some home with us for later, chocolate and cherry jam, what's not to like? Yummy!

We found a random Café in Caernarfon. From the first moment it was very lovely. The employees were nice and funny, not only to us but other customers as well, especially the Slovakian man. We talked about our trip, his arrival to Wales, UK cities etc. Coffee was delicious and the price suitable. I will definitely visit this “ coffi “ again on my next visit to Wales.

Lived in Caernarfon for 3 years and feel silly for always walking by. What a wonderful little cafe, the staff are super kind and welcoming. The coffee is very well presented and a nice simple menu with something for everyone. The v cut chips are sooo tasty. Definitely coming back here on a day off to just chill with a coffee.

We had a very nice Welsh rarebit, and Marek was very nice with everyone. On the top of this: I really enjoyed my cortado coffee (I would go back even just to have a coffee!). I said it, that was very well done and good coffee. Then he commented that he has been, years ago, to coffee / baristas competitions! If it wasn't getting busy I would have asked more :-) next time!

Our party of 11 hungry blokes rocked up unannounced, but the very friendly staff made us most welcome and managed to get all our cooked breakfasts out quickly. Lovely food and coffee. Had a good chat with both the owner and the chef on that day and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent little cafe. I will call in again first chance I get.

After leaving my family in the Galeri, I decided to take a walk into town and immediately this little gem of a cafe appeared out of nowhere. What a lovely reception I received from the owner. I ordered carrot and coriander soup and crust bread. He apologised that there would be a bit of a wait because they prepared the food on the spot. I was about to pay but the kind owner said that I could pay before leaving and I mentioned that most probably I would have coffee after the soup. Within less than 10 minutes my meal arrived. The soup was piping hot and delicious and also plentiful. And on an extremely cold day, this meal was so pleasing.The bread roll was so fresh and warm that the butter melted on it. Two further members of staff in passing by kindly asked me if everything was ok. I was so full after my meal that I decided that I would call back for coffee on my way back from town and I mentioned this while paying. But unfortunately while returning to my family at the Galeri, I didn’t have enough time to call for my coffee. Next time I’m in Caernarfon I’ll be calling back at Tŷ Winsh, not only for the delicious food but also for the very warm welcome. Thank you staff of the Tŷ Winsh.

This great little café never fails to please. I managed to resist the delicious creamed mushrooms today to sample one of the specials instead - vegetarian savoury cake, which Marek informed us was based on his mum's recipe (Slovakian). It was delicious and went perfectly with the side salad and very tasty v-cut chips. Marek and all the staff here are always friendly and jolly. We'll be back again next time we're passing. Diolch yn fawr iawn 😁

Fantastic wee place we found in Caernarfon. We were driving around looking for a cafe to have a decent breakfast on our way home. This was absolutely perfect. We were right on time to get the very last cooked breakfast that morning and it was so tasty. The staff were amazing and the cafe was so lovely to sit in, we could have easily sat there for another few hours.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on a half term day out after reading the TA reviews and was not disappointed. Great food and service - would recommend
