This is a fantastic (tiny) restaurant, one sitting only, tasting menu only, with most courses seafood based, ingenious, delicious and perfect size. With 14 covers it's really intimate and has converted us to raw oysters! Highlights on the menu were those oysters, the tempura ones too, the trout, the seabass and the very unusual "cheeseboard" dessert, with amazing toasted malt loaf. A wine pairing is offered (quite quirky) and we again decided to share one (generous glasses!), with an occasional beer too. The atmosphere is lovely and although, we chose to sit at one of the two tables, we were close enough to the "theatre kitchen" counter seating to hear and see the fresh food cooking and chef chatting. Amazing evening, we will return and wish OFS well in the off-season

Just had an amazing meal at this restaurant. Food was cooked to perfection. Really great atmosphere with the restaurant being packed and doubling its covers on some tables, demonstrating how much it is valued by locals as well as tourists. Service was with a smile and incredibly good value. Well done team, lovely evening thank you.

We have dined here on numerous previous occasions and have enjoyed excellent food. This time our meals were disappointing. I ordered the Catch of the Day which was mackerel. I asked in advance about the portion and was told that "usually" it was two medium fillets which seemed reasonable bearing in mind that this is a relatively cheap fish. I was served one small fillet with a moderate portion of accompanying vegetables. Very poor value. My wife didn't fancy the Catch of the Day and so ordered the fishcakes. She felt that the fish content was low. This is a lovely restaurant above The Sloop Inn and overlooking St Ives harbour. It is a shame that the menu is the same as for the pub below. An improved offering at a slightly higher price is perhaps called for.

We ordered lobster roll expecting some beautifully presented lobster curled round a tasty dressing. What turned up was a scant tablespoon of chopped overcooked lobster in a cold, cheap, tasteless white finger roll of bread that would have disgraced the bargain shelf of the cheapest supermarket. It was inedible. The side of hispi cabbage was well cooked, thankfully, or I would have left feeling very hungry. There are no loos. You have to use the dimly lit and droughty public loos in the adjacent council carpark. This is possibly the worst restaurant in St. Ives.
