The Chippy of Chinley

Blackbrook, High Peak
02/08/2019: Called in tonight and thought what a lovely clean chippy. Got the wrapped up chips back to the car and was very disappointed to find the size of the portion.
21/07/2019: Fantastic little chippy you can eat in or takeaway. Portion size really good and the quality of food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Only down side is it’s limited days of opening which is a shame.

Harpur's Plaice

Cote Heath, High Peak
05/08/2019: With the wife having had a really tough week at work, and particularly that day, we decided to go for a treat and have our usual fish - chips - mushy peas and gravy. We were lucky when we got there as there was no queue. We had two large cod in batter which were absolutely beautiful. the peas and gravy were very good too, but the chips just need longer in the fryer to give them a bit of crispness and colour. Other than that it is great. the quantity and value for money is excellent - it's just the chips need cooking a bit longer (but they taste very nice, don't get me wrong).
15/04/2019: Arrived at 5.45 for 2 Cod and chips. The cod was cooked fresh and was fine. Unfortunately the chips had been sitting for a long time and wrre dried out. By the time were had driven one mile back to our accomodation they were cold.

Fairfield Plaice

Stone Bench, High Peak, <20£
13/07/2019: We were not sure we were right to travel 2 miles by car to have our children try their 1st Fish & Chips. But we were! Very large portions, smiling service, and excellent fresh food : we could not finish our plates at lunch and had them re-heated in the oven the next day : they still tasted alright!
13/06/2019: Fish and chips cooked to order, chips were cooked great, and a good cut on them, no bad ones. The cod was chunky and flaky and the batter was just right...no grease and nice texture.

28/02/2019: So I visited for the first time last night. I had previously telephoned to ask for some GF batter for my fish, When I arrived, they were extremely helpful and explained that they use completely separate utensils for GF fish and food.
