Visited the cafe for an imformal meeting with friends. I was really impressed by the furntiture, fittings and decor. Warm welcome from staff. Excellent bacon roll with coleslaw & salad on the side and great coffee. A gem of a cafe in St Clair Street. We will be back again.

Outstanding food and service. The staff couldn't of been more helpful! The food was that good I've been back 3 times ans share it on Facebook, daily, definitely worth the try as I walked past it so many times and now I regret not eating it for longer than I have lol

This is our local - and it’s the best local we’ve ever had. Hugos Bar and Pavilion genuinely beats a lot of Edinburgh bars hands-down on quality service and food. From the moment you arrive the staff are friendly and welcoming - so much so, they already know what you want to drink! You can tell the staff love what they do - whether it’s serving, bar or kitchen - it’s a true team effort. The menu is always inventive and truly delicious. If Hugos isn’t already your local, get down there now and you’ll soon be a regular!

We booked the bistro for a family gathering to celebrate our surprise wedding and were extremely satisfied with all aspects. We had a table in the bright airy conservatory area overlooking the gardens and it wasn't too busy at that point. The gardens were a bit sad looking in places but we got some nice photos taken. The food was excellent, good size portions and value for money and the children all found stuff they enjoyed. Cocktails from the bar were fab and all in all we were pleased with our visit. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful

Food is amazing, but the price can change between a phone call and pickup. Terribly disappointed I will never be back!

Good large pot of tea. They advertise homemade cakes on the menu, but there are no homemade cakes at all, only ready-made and pre-packaged ones. There are lots of old leftovers and crumbs in the chairs.

Curry sauce tastes more like korma and eat too much sauce so chips turned to mush . But was ok enoygj noyvrequest my money back lol .

1 x 12 inch pizza, 1 x portion of chips and cheese, 1 cheeseburger on its own, 2 small tubs of sauce. £25. Incredible. Food was average at best, and pizza super greasy. Won’t be back.

Really disappointing, we definitely were given fried frozen chips tonight as evidently no substance and no potato inside. We’ve had good food previously although on the odd occasion we’ve had defied chops and greasy pizzas. Don’t want to go back has put us off! Best to make your own

Unfortunately they managed to mess up my delivery order. I got a regular large pizza instead of a xxl with stuffed crust and noticed too late. Remember to always check your order folks.

I ordered my food at 5.25 it was delivered at 6.40, that was bad enough but it was cold, fish and chips don't taste the same after they have been in the microwave

Ordered 2 donner meats, chips and cheese with garlic mayo- neither had any sauce on them! Tasted ok otherwise!
