The grandson had a wonderful first time experience climbing the varied difficulty levels of walls. Staff are great, very professional, and their focus is safety whilst having fun when conducting their briefings. Cafe is great with lovely coffee, great cakes and food. All in all, a fabulous place for all ages.

So, filled with graduation fever, we’re out celebrating. And what better spot to choose than an Italian Pizzaria set in one of Plymouth’s oldest buildings, Prysten House, built in the late 1400’s by Thomas Yogge, wine merchant of the day. The setting is gorgeous; think really old buildings with four foot thick flint walls, which makes you wonder how a workman might install a vent for a tumble dryer? We’re ushered to our table and then I glance at the menu. No starters? ‘It’s like an Italian Wagamamas dad’ didn’t help. So, trying to make sense of a surreal world, let’s use the ‘Sides’ as starters I proffered. Calamari, meatballs and Chicken Milanese all sounded like starters - so we went for that. ‘The sides usually do come slightly before the mains’ said our waitress- hope was in the air. I’ll go Calamari. Then a look to the mains, no pasta? Mmm. ‘It’s a pizza place dad.’ Ok. I’m cool. In terms of my comfort zone etiquette for eating out, the coups de gras ( sorry, don’t know it in Italian) was actually the water tumblers used as wine glasses. Red wine you can get away with as it’s served warmer than white and your hands encompass a tumbler. White with no stem? I’m showing my age. But the food- which is, after all, the point, was great. My Calamari was the best I’ve had. Soft, light and flavoursome. I can equally recommend the Courgette shoestring fries (Tempura prawns with courgette instead if you’re visualising it ) which were great. I then went for the Palma Farmer pizza with a splashing of chilli oil - great. Tasty and cooked really well. All things ‘Food’ were brill was our consensus. Well cooked and filled with flavour, which ever ‘flavour’ you chose to go for. We were too full for pud. Did the fact that the mains followed our ‘starters’ really swiftly lose something of the night. Strangely no. It’s a different vibe - and old gits like me need to chill about etiquette. Who cares anyway. Great place, great food and - different. Why not? I’d say give it a go. X

Best pizzas in Plymouth hands down every time, simple as that!! Not stingy with toppings like a certain chain at chaddlewood that serve slop chucked together without a care in the world as just in it for a pay cheque and clearly don’t have taste buds or eat the cack they bang out, Barry is a pizza legend, knows what I like and always cooked to perfection every time.

Overpriced, unorganised, steak sandwich was tiny , fatty and chewy. Drinks overpriced when the waiter could be bothered to serve us. There was 18 of us, no one enjoyed it and everyone said it was a rip off

Good atmosphere, located on the Plymouth Barbican. A good place to socialise and grab a bite to eat. Good deal on food (before7pm) Go regularly with friends to catch up. Surrounded by the marina and live music which is always a bonus. Not much seating inside however plenty of outdoor seating to endure the heat fell musicians hired. Staff friendly and efficient. Would recommend to visit. Only downfall was the cleanness of the bathrooms (both male and female) needs regular attention please. Look forward to return and seeing improvements!

Ordered chicken burger kebab and spicy spuds. All were not very good. The spicy spuds were anaemic and greasy. The chicken burger was dry tasteless and full of onion. The kebab was also tasteless and all in all we did not enjoy and will not be purchasing from here again.

lovely delivery lady who knocked very gently on the door, a welcome change to the usual and unnecessary loud hammering from most delivery staff
