Eat on the Green

2 offers
Mid Formartine, Aberdeenshire
06/02/2019: The canapés and homemade bread were excellent and a great start to our evening. The trio of salmon was popular with us and is an excellent starter. The winter feast for main course was also well received and included venison, beef and pork belly. This is a great choice and highly recommended. We will certainly be back and staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. It was good to meet and talk to chef/owner after the main course.
01/02/2019: We have travelled Aberdeenshire extensively. Eat on the Green at Udny is exceptional. Service and food receive top marks on the evening of our visit. It was snowing heavily on our drive to Udny. We found out later that several diners cancelled their bookings due to the weather. We persisted through the blizzard conditions and were richly rewarded. Not only did the chef modify dishes to suit two particular food allergies, but he took time out to greet us after the meal and review the evening. Superb! Well worth a visit no matter the weather conditions. The meal was so delicious that for a short period of time we forgot about the drive home.

Nargile

Midstocket / Rosemount, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
02/03/2019: It has been a while since we went to Nargile. It was as excellent as we remembered it. Not only great food, but a buzzing atmosphere and a good and friendly service. We went for the set meal, the Ziyafet Sofrasi. The hot and cold mezes are great, there is a nice selection of grilled tasty meats as mains and the baklava and Turkish coffee are good as well. Worth going for a nice evening out, but, certainly on a Friday, booking is wise.
26/02/2019: We had an excellent family meal: meze (Turkish hot and cold starter selection) to start and then main courses of chicken kebab, chicken with couscous and chicken slices in spicy sauce (yes they have Turkish names but I've forgotten them). All were delicious. Service was friendly and very efficient.

Goulash

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City
11/12/2018: Restaurante tradicional Húngaro. Excelente atendimento.
04/11/2018: Just ordered a goulash soup followed by the carpathian borzaska. It was such a good experience. I'm from Hungary, but I have been living in Aberdeen for 3 years and I was always a bit skeptical about this restaurant. However, today I decided to give it a try and I must say that I will be a regular for sure! Thank you, guys! :)

Rendezvous at Nargile

Hazlehead / Ashley / Queens Cross, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
24/11/2018: We had another amazing vezir banquet here. This is one of the best restaurants in Aberdeen. Being vegetarian, this simply never disappoints. Hot and cold dishes, all bursting with so many delicious flavours.
19/11/2018: I’ve had a couple of great meals here, a bit out of the way but that’s about it for negative comments! Food is seriously good with friendly professional service. I can’t recommend highly enough!

Tor-na-coille

Banchory and Mid Deeside, Aberdeenshire
15/03/2019: Just popped in on journey home. Was seated promptly beside coal fire. Lovely staff and the food was perfect. I had the burger with Brie and caramelised onions my husband had the fish n chips, home made onion rings too. There is a well stocked bar for the non drivers. Very nice ambiance.
16/02/2019: It’s great to live on Royal Deeside which has so much to offer visitors and locals. I saw on social media Tor Na Coille were doing a six course dinner for Valentine’s Day so the romantic in me decided to take my wife for dinner. I could wax lyrical about it for ages as the food here is really fabulous at really decent prices. I Mean £55 for a beautiful six course dinner that would cost over £200 in London or any other major city. You have arguably the best chefs north of the central belt who consistently get it right. The waiting staff were lovely who served us and a chat after dinner with head chef David Littlewood a real treat. Such a consummate professional. Thanks to everyone for a truly memorable night. I got major brownie points.

The Anchor Hotel

Mearns, Aberdeenshire
15/02/2019: First time we have eaten in this Hotel/Bar/Restaurant. Recommend from a friend. Thought since it was a nice fresh sunny day we would take a trip down to it.Not disappointed friendly service. Food was very good, really wide menu not just fish but being an old fishing village it is the main theme.
30/12/2018: We went to Johnshaven to meet up the Anchor Hotel for lunch. Parking was very easy to find on the square and the hotel was just opposite. Our friends arrived before us and had taken a table on the lounge area. We were promptly asked what we wanted to drink before placing the rest of our order. We each had a main course followed by dessert or cheese. We had a varied selection of mains which included beer battered haddock, chicken Kiev, beef burger, chicken salad and a child’s meal of fish goujons, chips and beans. Following one of the review recommendations in Trip Advisor I chose the hotels own fish pie, which I found to be excellent. We had a variety of desserts and a cheeseboard selection. The others at the table also enjoyed both their main and desert course. The service was very good considering that the hotel lounge restaurant was full as was the bar. Children and dogs were both welcome in the hotel lounge and bar. Can thoroughly recommend a visit to the hotel for a meal. We will make another visit even though it is about 80 km each way.

Linsmohr Hotel Restaurant

Mid Formartine, Aberdeenshire
09/03/2019: A bunch of us went there for lunch. The decor is a bit dated but otherwise it was comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive (although it wasn't busy).
19/01/2019: Greeted at the door quickly, the restaurant is set up nice. Service was quick and the food was amazing. I had the mixed grill and my wife had the macaroni cheese. Both decided on sticky toffee pudding afterwards. All was delicious. Servers were called Bethany and Dawn. Both were lovely.

Malmaison Brasserie

Hazlehead / Ashley / Queens Cross, Aberdeen City
14/03/2019: Just had a delicious afternoon tea, will definitely be back. Really attentive staff Murray and Matt, went out their way to ensure we enjoyed our visit
10/03/2019: We had a starter, two mains, a dessert and an affogato which came to £98 and then they added a service charge to the bill without asking. The drinks were at a reasonable price, but that was all. The steak frites is awful, just don’t. It says best served pink but it is so thin that’s not possible. Truffle fries are tasty but the ‘posh’ steak only comes with a fried onion so were extra. Scallops starter was tasty but the scallops were very thin. We did not have a server ask us how we were getting on and we had to ask twice for drinks, not offered at any time. We also got given the wrong bill which was tempting to take as it was £70 less than ours but we were feeling honest.

Six Degrees North

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City
Evitar.
24/09/2018: We only went in for a drink & to try the beer after enjoying Brewdog. But despite there been 2 members of staff front of house and no queue at the bar it took ages to get served. In defence of the staff the bloke then took ages offering me loads of samples to find the right beer for me which was very good, tasty & worth the wait. We didn't see anyone ordering the food. Not a great atmosphere when we were there although there were quite a few tables occupied & a couple of groups standing around the bar.

Dizzy's

Hazlehead / Ashley / Queens Cross, Aberdeen City
12/03/2019: A surprise menu which was very varied. A fusion of Scottish and Korean cuisine, a first for me but certainly not the last. Very nice decor and waiting staff with knowledge on the product. Lovely surroundings yet very quiet with not too many diners. Spotless restrooms too.
24/02/2019: Having eaten at Dizzys for many years and never had a bad experience, this was our first visit to the revamped Soju restaurant. We both agreed the decor is awful, I’ve no idea who thought up the whole scheme but yuk! We had to wait ages for our drinks order to be taken, despite the restaurant being unusually quiet for 8 pm on a Saturday night. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio rose only to be asked by the waitress if I meant Pinot Grigio or did I really mean Pinot Grigio rose? Yes I actually meant Pinot Grigio rose which is why I said it! We then had to repeat our food order at least 5 times as I could see she wasn’t getting it (not so much a language barrier, more just not listening properly). Our starters were underwhelming, ok but tasteless; our mains were good (for the price I should’ve expected so though), my partner had a dessert which he said was good. When it came time to ask for the bill, all the waiting staff were chatting amongst themselves, my partner tried to attract their attention 4 times, succeeding once but still being ignored. Eventually he went up and paid at the desk, needless to say we didn’t tip and I doubt we’ll be back which is a real shame as it used to be one of our favourite places.

Nando's

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City
30/12/2018: Tried Nandos in Aberdeen as we had been to the one in Inverness before & enjoyed it. I was bitterly disappointed, sticky table, dirty menus, cold restaurant, food took ages to arrive & when it did it was warm. Not piping hot as you'd expect, but warm. We are it as we were famished, but not happy. Spoke to somebody about the warm food & they couldn't understand why it was just warm (it was sat under the heating lamps for ages, that's why). Got a free bit of cake for our meal being cold, cake was lovely. But we will not be going back, won't waist my money there again.

Meze House

Midstocket / Rosemount, Aberdeen City
17/12/2016: Worst meal ever!!!! Food was cold, chicken was rubbery!
11/12/2016: This used to be one of my favourite places to get takeaway from in Aberdeen, but since they've moved locations the menu has shrunk (losing more than one of my usual dishes) and the food quality has deteriorated hugely. Very disappointing as I used to love there food.

Sopranos Wine Barr & Bistro

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City
Cócteles fantásticamente elaborados y sabrosos a precios realistas.

Bigos

Midstocket / Rosemount, Aberdeen City
06/07/2016: And a decent selection of 8-10 Polish craft beers. The bigos starter is a must. The meatballs would have satisfied Desperate Dan. Recommended.
25/06/2016: fantastic authentic food reasonably priced and great service - a must visit when in Aberdeen food well presented and delicious
