Went to the St Olaf Golf Hotel for an early evening meal. First time we have had a meal there since the new owners took charge. Would just like to say how much we enjoyed the food, compliments to the chef and his team. The front of house are also to be complemented on their friendly service. Will definitely recommend a visit to the St Olaf.

Regrettably our first choice of restaurant for dinner was full with a wedding party, so we were directed to the restaurant at St Olaf’s hotel, a short drive from our B&B.. The dining area looked very tired and dated, and in desperate need of updating. The tablemats were sticky, and seemed to need a good scrub with hot soapy water. Our waitress, although friendly, looked scruffy, and tired. The menu was unappealing to me, but my husband opted for the steak pie, mash and veg. I just had a bowl of soup. The pie was a bowl of meat and gravy, with a square of rather anemic looking undercooked flaky pastry plonked on top. The veg looked as if they had been boiled for a long time. I would not have served this at all!

Pleasant ambiance with helpful staff. I thought it was a bit expensive for what was offered. The food was, however, good.
