Amazing experience. Staff were very attentive, professional and friendly, I can’t compliment them enough. Food and drinks were fantastic, we went for the Thursday night supper club, where you get a set menu. All the courses were delicious, I especially enjoyed the main course, escalope of chicken with a Parmesan risotto. Everything cooked perfectly and we even got a photo with the kilted chef himself. It’s a shame the place is closing at the end of September however, we were so pleased we went and will have a fantastic memory to reflect on. I wouldn’t hesitate if you are thinking of booking. Do it before it’s too late.

We ended up in the Table de Hote part of the building which is split in 2. One side very expensive, limited choice. We were with a 6 year old, which should have been an indication that we were in the wrong side.... Other part of establishment would have been much better for us. Bespoke burgers, all the trimmings and a free drink....FFS. Much better value. We spent over £200 for 4 adults and 1 child. Make sure you book the right part of the establishment.... One kitchen serving 2 different restaurants, felt like we had been ripped off....the owner could have advised us better.

This restaurant is such an asset to our local area that we are frequent visitors. We almost always opt for the meze and the range of dishes is always fantastic. We were there with two other couples for dinner on a Saturday and the place was full. In saying that, there is sufficient space between tables that you don’t feel hemmed in. Diane and her team do a great job; food is delicious, service is slick and at £60 a head (including drinks) is pretty good value too.

This is honestly an absolute gem in Ballater and one of the nicest tearooms we’ve ever visited. If you’re in the area it’s absolutely worth a visit. Built on the restored Victorian railway station you are seated in oodles of history and charm. It’s beautiful inside with plenty of seating both inside and out. On the right as you enter is booth seating that replicates a corridor train layout and on the left an open plan area with a replica of the royal family’s railway carriage. Beside the main door turn to your left and you’ll find a replica of the royal waiting room which was beautifully presented. We loved the attention to detail throughout and how spotless the whole place was. They have a nice selection of hot and cold food and drink and loved that the menu showed where each of the locally sourced ingredients came from. The menu isn’t huge but this shows they specialise in quality rather than quantity. Their cake and home bake selection is amazing and each looked as nice as the last. We went for some hot drinks, breakfast roll and a cake each. Everything we ate and drank was delicious and you can tell the ingredients were quality and worth every penny. Two younger male staff served and both delivered excellent customer service. We head out Deeside a lot and can’t wait to go back.

We had a large private party at the Tor-Na-Coille hotel and I am so glad we chose this venue. Every member of staff we spoke to had a wonderful attitude, they were incredibly helpful, and the service was impeccable. The venue itself is stunning throughout and the private dining space is no exception. We barely had to decorate the space to make it look beautiful. We chose a buffet meal and it was well received, tasty, and reasonably priced. There was a stage in our room perfect for entertainment, and also a bar within the room allowing you to order drinks without leaving the party. We will be very pleased to visit again soon for lunch. Big thank you to Rami, Rachel, Amy, Callum, and the rest of the team!

Spectacularly good. My folks owned a fish and chipper back in the 70s. So I know my fish n chips. This was the best I have ever had. My wife had seafood penne. Fabulous flavours, really nicely done. The ambience is great. The staff were great. Was here a few years ago and it was okay. It is not okay now ...it's brilliant. Someone running a tight ship here! Highly recommended!

Went to the St Olaf Golf Hotel for an early evening meal. First time we have had a meal there since the new owners took charge. Would just like to say how much we enjoyed the food, compliments to the chef and his team. The front of house are also to be complemented on their friendly service. Will definitely recommend a visit to the St Olaf.
