Friendly little Portuguese café of character. Excellent coffee and home made cakes, or sit in for something delicious and unusual for lunch or supper. Generous portions. I think that even the bread was home made. I would be extremely happy to find a place like this in Madeira or London, let alone King's Lynn. You may not recognise everything on the counter, but just ask.

I booked for a party of 10 people, we were asked to pre order, which I fully understand. Some of our party did change their order once we were there, this was done with out any hassle. we were all addressed by our names which was amazing as I can't sometime remember my own lol. The food was the best I'd had in a long time, excellently presented and also the flavours define. Everyone should give this small restaurant a try, If I lived closer then I would use it frequently. The only thing I would say, it doesn't stand out in the street, and in such a competitive high street full of eating places it needs something to draw people off the street. Well done guys, hopefully see you next year if we go to Twinwood.

We ate Sunday lunch. The food was was very good and at £18 for a main I thought was reasonable value. Four of us paid £120 including service charge. Sunday lunch menu is more limited than the evening menu. There were four starters, a choice of topside of beef, chicken supreme, pork belly and vegetarian option. All came with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. A cauliflower cheese option was also available at extra cost There were only two desserts on the menu and we tried both which were excellent. Top tip. There are two dining areas one downstairs and one up. Access to the upstairs is via a steep spiral staircase. If you struggle with stairs for any reason avoid this area and I'd check where your table is when booking. Service was friendly but a little slow. Partly because it was so busy. My only criticism was our table upstairs was on the small side and felt a bit cramped.

We enjoyed a one night stay for a birthday celebration. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable rest! Loved the bathroom and the bed was huge and we slept really well! Although we had our very own alarm, that being the church bells ringing at 9.30 calling everyone to service lol Tea n coffee facilities were good and had plenty of it! Would definitely stay again soon for a cosy stay!

Not been to the Poachers since it reopened. A real village pub with all types of people. The menu, it might look like a usual pub menu, but the quality of the cooking was amazing, especially the Stilton and celery soup. I would think it is all home made, by the quality, nothing bought in. Really friendly accommodating staff, made the meal even nicer Looking forward to going again, even if I ask for two lots of soup as a starter and main! I don’t even like Stilton, but it was lovely.

Nice Sunday lunch but very limited dessert choice, the only dessert available was cherry Eaton mess or ice cream everything else had run out. I liked the sound of cherry Eaton mess which I ordered but when it was delivered it was strawberry, no sign of cherries so I sent it back. Main course was nice though.

Place has SO gone downhill since the original owners left. The Staff aren't welcoming. They were all Fumbling about. Totally disorganised.. It Took 35 mins to get our cocktails to us. (4 Mojitos and 1 limoncello) Mojitos wernt correct. No fresh lime or sugar in them. No sugar round the glass rim as it should be. Limoncello... no fresh lemons.. all tasted like soda water. And at a cost of £41! I don't mind paying over the odds prices for a decent cocktail but this was just atrocious today. Won't be back. Which is a shame because my previous reviews of this place have all been outstanding. Worst thing ever to happen to northwich this place allowing its stands to stoop to such LOW levels.

We were in Bath for a weekend and stopped off here for a coffee and pastry. We sat outside. The coffee was the most delicious coffee we’ve had in a long time and the pasty was outstanding. Such a fantastic bakery ! Give it a try.

The roast dinners are beautiful, the best roast beef I have ever tasted with perfectly season veg, crispy roast potatoes, homemade stuffing and crispy Yorkshire pudding! The brasserie has quickly become my favourite roast dinner spot in Shepton.

AVOID!!!! I have never had worse fish and chips. Used to be a regular but I will never set foot in here again. The chips had been reheated and we're inedible and the sausage was not fully cooked, so the batter was uncooked inside. I would strongly recommend to anyone of thinking of getting fish and chips to go else where and get decent food rather than chucking your money in the bin.

I've lived in frome now for a good while! 46 years, I feel a little old! I know village spice has had a lot of ups and downs over the years, what with quality of food etc but I have to say, our most recent visit was amazing!! Yes the food was nice, really nice!, lamb moist, nan bread soft! But what really made our night was the friendly front of house staff! Really friendly, young staff that were head and shoulders above many other waiters/waitresses from other restaurants we have visited, a natural flair, a great example on how to run a restaurant! They had a lot to do! But always found time to glance over to make sure we were all ok enjoying our food! This restaurant has often been underated over the years, but trust me, in its current set up it is hands down the best curry house in the area. You can even bring your own wine! Would highly recommend
