AVOID!!!! I have never had worse fish and chips. Used to be a regular but I will never set foot in here again. The chips had been reheated and we're inedible and the sausage was not fully cooked, so the batter was uncooked inside. I would strongly recommend to anyone of thinking of getting fish and chips to go else where and get decent food rather than chucking your money in the bin.

Not a lot to sat. The shop was empty just after 5 pm . Bought fish and chops and cheesy chips went 6o car and they were lukewarm the fish was fine. Wouldn't go back on principle as it isn't cheap . Would like to know the reason why the chips were lukewarm.

We visited this takeaway for the first time tonight having just moved to the area. The service was good (we were served by a lovely young girl) and the food was nice and they even did gluten free (served to us by a nice young lad). But we were really shocked to hear how the two younger employees were being spoken to by how who I can only assume to be the manager/owner. I agree that if mistakes are being made (even if small) they should be corrected, particularly having worked in this industry myself. However, to speak to young employees like that infront of paying customers must be really humiliating and disheartening for them, they looked rather on edge and other customers also felt visibly uncomfortable.

Slightly off the main tourist route, we were so happy to discover this brilliant little takeaway a short walk down the hill from our Airbnb cottage. No queue, reasonable prices, friendly service and, to top it off, gluten free options. Our daughters both had the 'normal' version and my husband and I had gluten free. They let us know that they were cooking our chips separately too. The batter on all of the fish was crispy and light, portions were generous, the cod was chunky and perfectly cooked and the chips were just right - freshly cooked, not soggy or greasy at all - thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family!

I had decided to buy from one of the higher rated chippys, but unfortunately or fortunately had to go to R&T. Both the fish and chips were excellent, staff cheerful and covid safe. I will definitely use them again when visiting Glastonbury.

I went in this evening to buy meals for all my family, 9 of us in total! We always go to R and T but this evening it was the best! Everyone commented on their lovely food! Everything was spot on! Service was friendly and fast, as always and the chap who was frying tonight was extremely efficient, really friendly and did a fantastic job! 😊 thank you for a great meal from all 9 of us!

We had fish and chips, the fish was cooked to order, the staff really welcoming! Large portions given, quality fish and the chips were lovely, my daughter said they were some of the best she has ever had. Only downside is limited parking. Worth the visit

I live 20 minutes from R&T’s but it’s worth the drive because it’s the best fish and chips in the area. Plump, juicy, fresh haddock in a light crisp batter. Hand cut chips all wrapped in paper. Friendly and helpful staff. Now with Coronavirus they have set up a brilliant website, with PayPal and for £3 they deliver to Wookey. Well done! Highly recommended.

Our family have been eating fish and chips from R&T for many years. The most important thing is that there is a generous portion of lovely fresh cod inside that just-right batter. The chips are always fresh. There are plenty of folks on duty, so never a wait. When we had a very large family get-together, they provided exactly the right amount of food, very savvy. I recommend them highly.

a little dissapointing this time round, they didn't have one drink option they were offering and one of our party ordered the regular battered sausgae and got a battered cocktail sausage, eitherwise it was ok this time.

Probably the best fish and chips in town and good sized portions. Sadly its too far for me to walk there and back without my fish supper going cold, so can only get them if someone gives me a lift. I/f I lived closer it would be my friday night treat every week

I was starving after sending my meal back twice at Weatherspoon's twice so called in on the off chance about 7pm. I would have eaten a scabby cat, but lovely batter and the chips were half decent too! Second best fish n chips this year. Thank you.

Bastante decepcionante.

This establishment has been a chippy forever; its latest incarnation is as R&T (Rose and Terre's I believe) and it's very good. We have an "award winning" chippie in town quite close to this one (and I've never really been able to find out exactly what the awards were), but personally, I find R&T much better and worth the extra couple of minutes walk.It is a takeaway rather than Restaurant, which seems to be the category Tripadvisor has given it so please look at ratings accordingly.

As a Girl Guide Unit in Glastonbury we decided to do a chip shop trial with the girls sampling chips from all the chip shops in Glastonbury. The girls tired all the chips and voted on the one they liked best - R&T's Glastonbury won and was awarded a certificate by the Girl Guides for the best chips in Glastonbury.

For scrumptious fish and chips this shop or their restaurant in Street is by far the best. The batter is always crispy and the chips soft and fluffy on the inside.

As a regular Friday night customer I have to say that I have never been disappointed by R & T's. All I must say is that a certain amount of patience is required, you will probably have to wait a little while before your order is ready but believe me , it will be worth it! There is another, much decorated, chip shop in Glastonbury but it is miles behind this one in terms of the quality it produces.

We collect our supper from R & T Fish Bar every Friday night. Its the best in the area, whether we have fish or meat balls (this site wont let me write the proper name, I guess it thinks I am being rude about homosexuals, which I am not.) its wonderful. The shop is so busy that every is always so fresh. Keep it up girls.

I've lived in frome now for a good while! 46 years, I feel a little old! I know village spice has had a lot of ups and downs over the years, what with quality of food etc but I have to say, our most recent visit was amazing!! Yes the food was nice, really nice!, lamb moist, nan bread soft! But what really made our night was the friendly front of house staff! Really friendly, young staff that were head and shoulders above many other waiters/waitresses from other restaurants we have visited, a natural flair, a great example on how to run a restaurant! They had a lot to do! But always found time to glance over to make sure we were all ok enjoying our food! This restaurant has often been underated over the years, but trust me, in its current set up it is hands down the best curry house in the area. You can even bring your own wine! Would highly recommend

The roast dinners are beautiful, the best roast beef I have ever tasted with perfectly season veg, crispy roast potatoes, homemade stuffing and crispy Yorkshire pudding! The brasserie has quickly become my favourite roast dinner spot in Shepton.

We enjoyed a one night stay for a birthday celebration. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable rest! Loved the bathroom and the bed was huge and we slept really well! Although we had our very own alarm, that being the church bells ringing at 9.30 calling everyone to service lol Tea n coffee facilities were good and had plenty of it! Would definitely stay again soon for a cosy stay!

Visited with a group of friends and a couple of our toddlers. I don’t usually leave reviews but definitely have to for this gem. We all had lovely meals, the landlord and his team were so friendly, welcoming and attentive. What I personally love is how family friendly they were, we will definitely be back.

We ate Sunday lunch. The food was was very good and at £18 for a main I thought was reasonable value. Four of us paid £120 including service charge. Sunday lunch menu is more limited than the evening menu. There were four starters, a choice of topside of beef, chicken supreme, pork belly and vegetarian option. All came with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. A cauliflower cheese option was also available at extra cost There were only two desserts on the menu and we tried both which were excellent. Top tip. There are two dining areas one downstairs and one up. Access to the upstairs is via a steep spiral staircase. If you struggle with stairs for any reason avoid this area and I'd check where your table is when booking. Service was friendly but a little slow. Partly because it was so busy. My only criticism was our table upstairs was on the small side and felt a bit cramped.
