Lovely meal and great helpful staff, I am gluten free and my partner is vegan so not easy to provide for but they excelled with us.

Mixed experience at Trellis. The cafe itself is lovely and clean and the cakes on offer are amazing and so lovely! Ideal for a coffee and cake stop! The menu for breakfast feels a little limited. Many of the dishes feel “egg heavy” but there are some other options. I feel like they are missing an opportunity for a brunch menu. Our recent experience was very mixed as we loved the food and coffees but the noise of the cafe in the bottom section was incredibly loud, and service was quite poor (uninterested staff, hard to get their attention). It could’ve been a bad and busy morning but it did stick with us and mirrors some of the other recent reviews. Please get back to the old Trellis we love and remember!

We were a group of four who visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The cafe was busy, not excessively so but we waited well over an hour for our food. Our drinks were finished but we did ask for tap water to keep us going - not knowing we would be charged 75p per glass of lukewarm water - not even an offering of ice! Never have I been charged for tap water. When the food eventually arrived, the chips were undercooked and had to be sent back. I ordered a further coffee which didn’t arrive until I had finished my food. Not a good experience at all and we certainly won’t be back.

The nachos were hot and fresh and wonderful. We couldn’t stop eating the generous portion of tuna salad. The owners were friendly with a smile too. The decor was bright, upbeat and welcoming. We highly recommend this establishment. I wish I could give it six stars

I walked past the cafe with my son in the buggy at 14:38 (states they close at 15:00 online) and asked the blonde female employee outside if I could order a sandwich for takeaway. Was told, in a defensive way that they had ‘already put everything away’. I understand it can be frustrating when people want served at the last minute (I used to work in retail), however this wasn’t a minute before close time - the cafe should possibly change their advertised hours if they can’t serve customers beyond 14:30. It’s a shame as it’s put me off visiting again, and I like to support local businesses as much as possible, especially in Ellon as I live nearby.

Stopped here for a quick bite for lunch on Monday 29th March 2021. I had egg mayo and onion sandwich and my partner had a cheese and tuna sandwich, both were on white bread. They were made fresh and we sat in the square to eat them. Absolutely delicious. Egg Mayo tasted delicious and the bread was fresh. Plenty of filling in both sandwiches. Tuna and cheese was delicious also. Will definitely be back! Lovely woman served us, very friendly.

Went to the park on the #thebighoptrail with my dog. Beautiful day, took a wee picnic but bought a cappuccino at the cafe and took away in my own travel mug to sit outside round the back away from the cafe. Piping hot, just as I like it and reasonably priced at £2.90 for a large size. As cappuccinos go for me it was 5 ⭐️

Great bar with nice friendly staff but let down by the horrible stench of Vape smokers, shame because it puts many people off going in !

Over priced cafe £2.50 for the smallest pot of tea I have ever seen I know they have overheads but how much does it cost to make a cuppa

The pleasing and restful atmosphere of the Waterstones bookshop cafe (Bon Accord) was enhanced by a delightful young lady named Emma. Courtious, engaging, communicative, thoughtful and with a lovely sense of humour, made my day. I was feeling rather under the weather due to a tiresome head cold and my hearing was muted - I explained this to Emma - she offered sympathy, asked me to sit down and she would deliver my order to my table - this see did promptly complete with a joke about the enormous receipt for a small purchase. Many, many of the young folks who work in shops in Aberdeen city centre could learn a great deal from this young woman! 10 out of 10 Emma.
