Thank you for a lovely meal last night, chicken stroganoff tasty and tender . Husband had babotie- tried some and had such delicate flavour, gorgeous. We were 30mins away but definitely worth the drive round , would recommend you try it . And should mention guy serving us, Mike I think, offered a warm & welcoming visit.

My first visit to Callander and at 3.15 I thought I'd go here for tea and cake. I was greeted by the waitress saying" We're not doing food". I explained I wanted tea, there were a few people at tables but I was seated far from them so that I felt even more alone. When the tea came it was a pot of hot water and a teabag in a sachet- such wasteful packaging- and it tasted of nothing! I regret not going to one of the other cafes along the street.

Second visit to this lovely place, we were on our honeymoon and stopped by to have a bite to eat as we were staying locally. I knew what I wanted straight away, the steak pie with potatoes and veg, I had it last time we visited and it is the best steak pie Ive ever tasted, im a fussy eater but it is delicious. Also the lady who served us was very friendly and really down to earth, we had an amazing experience and will defently be back when we visit again next year.

Emailed in to complain on 19th October heard nothing since I was told this would be investigated....now a review to warn others because of our bad epxerience. We went in for food and expected a better standard. We ate at The Waverley in October our ordered included kid's pizza and chips, hunters' chicken, haggis fritters, chicken strips and chicken tacos. Our son has allergies and the staff on à³duty were helpful and knowledgeable regarding this which was appreciated. We seemed to wait a while for food to arrive. Our son was really hungry and kept asking us when would it be ready. We reminded him soon and it would be nice when it arrived. Sadly, it was not the case alarm bells rang when the man sitting on a table near us received a cold meal by the time it was replaced his companion had long since finished her meal. The chips with the hunter's chicken were frozen. I did mention to our server about the chips and explained I was making them aware incase anyone complained nastily. They didn't seem to apologise or make any comment regarding this I can only assume they were embarrassed by their kitchen's standards. Our son's pizza didn't seem to be hot either. We looked forward to having a meal out together as we are currently on holiday and don't get much family time. We won't be keen to rush back next time when kids r on holiday. Unfortunately as when you dine out the last thing on your mind is to send food back. Also, whilst you wait others on your table finish their meals or stop to wait for you and we had planned to eat together so this was why I didn't send our food back.

The staff were more than lovely, was just after climbing the mountain beside it and drenched with no phone charge or water, and he accepted me in and gave me a charger and a drink. The location is also so perfect its a beautiful view.

Stopped for a lunch break thoroughly enjoyed it and was made aware of the parking situation and there is also a display to allow you to put in your details so why others have complained when it's right in front of you ? Anyway food service and surroundings were all excellent

Myself and a group of 5 have never experienced a hotel that hides behind covid to give the worst possible service you could get. No hello, good morning, good evening or can I help you. Asking for any extra items we dreaded. To be fair the son in law just about made it bearable. As a group we spent over £1000 in this place and was treated appallingly. we had traveled to complete a walk ticking off the munroes. We asked if we could have an early breakfast because of the heart to the reply “ don’t do early breakfast it’s between 8/9. So we asked for some cereal to be left and toast . We was left I box of mini cereal each nothing else at a cost of £50:£60 per night. The morning we left I found that the cost of the trip had been taken from my bank account without my knowledge . The card was used to secure the booking abs was not told at any point it would be used as we where 3 separate couples. No discussion that this had happened on the first day we arrived .I thought my account had been hacked and was seen upset at breakfast yet still nothing said. Under the current climate you would expect nothing less than manners especially when you are paying guest.

I ordered the venison burger, it was really awful. If one part of the meal was not good i would of mentioned it and given them the chance to sort it. But due to so many parts of the meal being really bad it made more sense to write a bad review. The food was what the food was. Chips were sickly pale and undercooked, onion rings were undercooked in oil not hot enough leaving it thick and soaked through the batter, oil was also not clean, it had black bits throughout. The burger bun was dry and freezer burned, either stale or hard at edges from being microwaved. The venison burger had been frozen and defrosted in the microwave, but too long in the microwave so it was dry and solid like a hockey puck. The woman at the bar was not particularly friendly either, not the younger girl, the older one. We spend £45 in there, we were extremely hungry from climbing so we ate it all but it really really was terrible and just to fill a hole.
