Myself and a group of 5 have never experienced a hotel that hides behind covid to give the worst possible service you could get. No hello, good morning, good evening or can I help you. Asking for any extra items we dreaded. To be fair the son in law just about made it bearable. As a group we spent over £1000 in this place and was treated appallingly. we had traveled to complete a walk ticking off the munroes. We asked if we could have an early breakfast because of the heart to the reply “ don’t do early breakfast it’s between 8/9. So we asked for some cereal to be left and toast . We was left I box of mini cereal each nothing else at a cost of £50:£60 per night. The morning we left I found that the cost of the trip had been taken from my bank account without my knowledge . The card was used to secure the booking abs was not told at any point it would be used as we where 3 separate couples. No discussion that this had happened on the first day we arrived .I thought my account had been hacked and was seen upset at breakfast yet still nothing said. Under the current climate you would expect nothing less than manners especially when you are paying guest.

This is a shabby hotel. Our tiny attic bedroom had ancient beds and worn out cheap bed linen. The concept of hospitality is missing and it is joyless. The food was awful and staff unhelpful.

Our first night in Killin, at the end of May, was spoiled by an unfriendly welcome to the restaurant. We arrived without reservation, we called the restaurant number and it was not busy, so we were able to sit down right away. We were advised that, it was possible to sit outside with our dog, but no service outside. We then proceeded in to make an order and to take our drinks out, this was not allowed???!!! We have walked away, to the Killin hotel just few minutes away. It is a shame, as the Coach House is the nearest place to our work, easy for us to visit again and many of our customers are asking about this restaurant. We are definitely not recommending this restaurant to our clients and will not be going back till new owners arrive.

We were staying nearby and popped in on our first night and last night for dinner. The food is all home cooked, piping hot and delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. One thing I also noticed is that they are taking the Covid protocol seriously and we felt very safe eating here due to their outstanding cleanliness. I would highly recommend eating here.

While staying at the caravan and motorhome site, we visited the coach house hotel a very short walk away for an evening meal. What a delight it was. Not only did they allow dogs but the welcome was very friendly and the food exceptional. We had 3 really lovely courses at such a reasonable price. I had the chicken in garlic with the puff pastry and my husband had the beef with puff pastry. The meat was so tender, the chips really nice and they had no issue with me changing peas for a side salad. The service was really lovely and relaxed but excellent. We had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to people.

Staying in Kilin for a few days. Took my wife and our 5 year old for an evening meal. Great friendly atmosphere, plenty of choice in food and drinks. Food arrived on roasting hot plates, was delicious and filling. The portion sizes were hearty, including the children’s fish. My wife declared her tartlet “one of the best she’s ever tasted!” Staff very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Very friendly bar pooch named ‘bandit’ who loved a good pet. Would definitely come again.

This bar abuts the hotel / restaurant and is nicely situated in a semi isolated spot at the rear of the car park. There appears to be an upstairs, but I didn’t get that far. The bar is great, although I was the only customer. They have a pool table and plenty of seating. The toilets are picking clean, in my eyes a must! The staff were obviously underworked but cheery which is typical this far north. I do hope this place is busier than it was on a mid-November Saturday night, because it deserves to be.

We have enjoyed an evening with live music in the bar off the hotel. From March till end off October there is every Saturday evening live music in the bar. This night Ted Christopher song for three hours. And it was great he song real schots songs and all other songs. The bar was busy and every body enjoyed them self. The bar had a lot of nice beers, ciders and whisky's to offer. We had a great evening. Manny thanks for that.

Recently spent two nights here. The trip did not start well. My husband and I arrived around the agreed time and followed the instruction to ring the bell.....which we did for a good 10 mins.....no reply. Had to resort to phoning the hotel to tell them we were here. We were met by a somewhat disgruntled lady who.....instead if apologising for our wait proceeded to check the bell we had tried to ring and agreed oh yes it wasn't working. We were shown to our room. The room seemed nice and spacious so we unpacked. We headed to the bar for the promised pub grub and maybe a wee game of pool. The actuality was a pool table pushed into a corner and boarded over......bland overpriced food and warm beer. Things progressed over the weekend. Sunday's breakfast again mediocre culminated in me finding a long blond hair embedded in my bacon rasher.......not good! The cleanliness of our room left much to be desired including cobwebs....a chipped bedside lamp....the kettle on the courtesy tray splashed with the previous occupants coffee and cups and saucers less than immaculate. All in all we spent the best part of £250 for two nights in a most disappointing establishment. I would definitely not recommended this premise.

We had planned to visit here on our first night at killin as there was a band on from 9pm and we were looking forward to some live entertainment. However while trying to book a table for four for tea before the band started we were told the children had to out by 8pm as it was a open bar after that so we couldn't stay to watch the band. We were very disappointed and thought given the very close proximity to the campsite they would attract a lot of trade from families with children there however wasn't to be on our visit shame really.

We stopped off for soup and a beer however while the soup was fine, the service from the barmaid ( possibly the owner ?) was terrible. Totally miserable and lacking any willingness to help, she is clearly in the wrong business. Unwilling to really answer any questions and viewing us as an intrusion, when we raised the issue of beer being hot she told us this was normal. It was pointless to become involved in any argument. When we rode further in to Killin, we saw that all other cafes / bars were far more busy - not surprised. Would never return to such misery.

Popped in to have some lunch with my partner and parents. We were all greeted MOST frostily by a woman (who I later learned was unfortunately) the manager. After being herded into the "lounge bar," she refused to wait on us and it became apparent we'd have to go right up to the bar to order our drinks. Note: this was a quiet weekday and there was NO-ONE else in the bar except us. When at the bar, she gave us our menus, but made very little "genuine" conversation. A smell of urine from the nearby lavatories distinctly drifted through the air which did nothing to add positively to our dining experience. When the food finally arrived, it was very "supermarket café" like and NOT at all "home-made." On a final note, the only vegetable we all had on our different dishes were PEASE. Avoid at all costs:(

Spent an evening in the Coach house hotel for dinner with the in laws while visiting Killin for the night. Immediately upon entry you're hit by the dingey look and a waft of urine from the toilets! The menu has decent selection. However when the food came it seemed very much like it was microwaved frozen food. I had a burger and it was like one of those Rustler burgers with a cheese slice, no salad, no bacon nothing and on the sides just some sad frozen chips. My wife had the steak pie and it was utterly tasteless. We had deserts after because we were still hungry and it was defo those heinze tinned sponge deserts. To make it worse it wasn't cheap either and the music was pants. Go somewhere else in Killin for dinner.

As we were staying at the Coach House we decided to eat there on our first night. Good real ale and wine available by the (individual portion) bottle. My fish & chips was a huge portion and very tasty but I doubt it was truly 'home-cooked' (as advertised on their website) as the breaded fish was clearly from a catering supplier. My wife's risotto was very disappointing being mushy and tasteless. Unusually (for me), we didn't comment because the owners were nice, friendly and helpful and because we'd be eating elsewhere on the other evenings.

We returned to the Coach House Lounge Bar as mentioned in a previous review (Sept 13), once again we found the place welcoming and enjoyed our meal. However I am sorry to say that overall our meal was not quite as good as last time. The portions were smaller and the quality was not quite as good, which is a pity as we could not find fault on our last visit. The local ales are still well kept and enjoyable. The service was quick and efficient, what was served was hot and wholesome. However, on ordering a sweet, chocolate pudding and sticky toffee pudding we asked for custard but were informed that it only came with ice cream. We were a little disappointed, but that being said we would visit again if in the area, if only to see if this was just a one off.

Went here twice with my wife and daughter, on the first occasion we ordered chips and when the plate came the bowl in which the chips were in was scalding hot so much so my daughter burnt her finger. The lady that served us didn't mention that the bowl would be hot never mind that it was scalding. I had to get ice from the bar to help cool down the burn. The staff apologised but it just felt like a feeble apology. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and go back for a meal. Now that was a bad mistake and it wasn't very nice. My wife and I had burgers and my daughter had chicken nuggets. Well it wasn't very nice and the following day we all had very upset tummies. We will go back to Killin but won’t be visiting this place again. Our Friends who also have been to Killin this year also thought the same as us.

While on a bike trip through the Lochs region, we stayed in Killin and the inn keeper recommended the Coach House for a meal and entertainment. Both were excellent. The restaurant was a 10-15 minute walk from our B&B. The place was crowded with welcoming folks. The food was excellent and included pub food as well as trout, salmon and lamb. The beers were delicious, and the malt whiskey from the region priced fairly. Most of the patrons seemed to be locals. At 9:00PM, the music started and the pair singing were just great. The crowd sang along, and the two gents singing took requests. We were thrilled with the experience and felt we had experienced a bit of life in the region around Loch Lomand and Loch Tay.

We visited on two seperate nights in a week whilst touring, firstly the good points, the bar is very warm and cosy and very welcoming, nice decor with the furniture covered in the Douglas tartan, very nice, the owners are friendly and welcoming, they have a very good selection of single malt whiskies, the down side is the food, or the price of it. I ordered a scottish beefburger, expecting something substantial at £9.50, what came up was well below par and tiny, a Rustlers burger that you get in the supermarket would be twice the size. At £9.50 this isnt just steep its downright extortion and the owners should be embarrased to sell it at that price. If they addressed their menu and pricing policy I think they could only benefit from it.

Came here for some lunch this April on a saturday lunch time and when we walked in there was no one in apart from bar lady/chef. There was no heating on and the menu was poor (no steak) my partner had what looked like steak pie whiteout the pastry and peas were still frozen. I had scampie and chips with 8 bits of scampie and 12 chips, no salad which I was surprised about. And to charge £10 for scampie and £10 for my partners meal was scandilus. In total we were £23 n was still starving! And to top it we waited 35mins for our very poor meal.

Have stayed in killin and dined in the coach house on several occasions. Made to feel very welcome and the food was typical of a family run pub, home cooked and made to order.Sometimes took awhile for the food to arrive, portion size was very generous. Could not comment on the rooms as we have not stayed.

We came for a birthday party at the soft play and stayed and had some lunch - such a lovely venue with gardens and walking areas as well as the cafe and softplay for kids. The food in the cafe was surprisingly good. Excellent options for those with dietary requirements and really delicious food which seemed to be properly made from scratch (veggie/vegan mushroom sausage roll and GF pizza were a real hit!). Service was lovely too. Will definitely visit again.

I ordered the venison burger, it was really awful. If one part of the meal was not good i would of mentioned it and given them the chance to sort it. But due to so many parts of the meal being really bad it made more sense to write a bad review. The food was what the food was. Chips were sickly pale and undercooked, onion rings were undercooked in oil not hot enough leaving it thick and soaked through the batter, oil was also not clean, it had black bits throughout. The burger bun was dry and freezer burned, either stale or hard at edges from being microwaved. The venison burger had been frozen and defrosted in the microwave, but too long in the microwave so it was dry and solid like a hockey puck. The woman at the bar was not particularly friendly either, not the younger girl, the older one. We spend £45 in there, we were extremely hungry from climbing so we ate it all but it really really was terrible and just to fill a hole.

Stopped for a lunch break thoroughly enjoyed it and was made aware of the parking situation and there is also a display to allow you to put in your details so why others have complained when it's right in front of you ? Anyway food service and surroundings were all excellent
