What a lovely welcome from the lady serving us.( worth her weight in gold) a real asset to the business. We had 2 large dogs with us and straight away brought water and treats for them. Cozy fire and great food, what more can u ask for. Thanks for a lovely visit x

Lovely Sunday lunch in beautiful surroundings,amazing food and very attentive staff,would defensively recommend as restaurant overlooks the beautiful falls of Dochart,go hungry as portions are rather large,good value for money

Pleasantly surprised, seemed unassuming from street, but had a great meal and beautiful view out over the river. Good choice of lighter meals, sandwiches/paninis to full mains. Will keep in mind for when back in the area.

This friendly cafe overlooks the river in the picturesque village of Killin, where we were staying for 10 days. The interior is spacious and leans into the Scottish theme - plenty of tartan and stuffed highland animals. Whether that attracts or repells you, it has to be said that it is not so over the top as to detract from your meal. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast I ate was huge, very tasty and of a high overall standard, whilst prices seemed remarkably low for someone from Southern England. I have nothing but good to say about that breakfast and it probably deserved 5 stars. My problem is with the apparent opening times. According to the various signs on the door, both dinner and takeaway food is available and yet the kitchens close at 4pm. I don't know how true that was because, in common with several local establishments, The Capercalle seems reluctant to advertise details about such vital matters as opening times. All I can say is that the couple of times we wandered down there in the early evenings, it was closed. Who has their dinner or buys a takeaway before 4pm?! And can you really call yourself a restaurant with no evening service? This rather tarnished my view of the place, which is shame because my breakfast experience had been superb.

Really lovely servers, but the food was abysmal, microwaved pizzas, greasy frozen fish and a panini you could use as a house brick it was that dry. The decor was like going back in time and much to my wee boys horror there was a giant log floating in one of the toilets.

What great wee place this is. Dog friendly and humans if we’ll behaved!! Lovely inside with open fire and views of the river. Great place for lunch dinner or even breakfast and we tried all three. Great menu for everyone and even do takeaway. You can also just pop in for a drink, staff all very friendly and the food was excellent. We are vegetarian and the lasagna was fantastic, yummy 🤤. Stopped in for breakfast, and it was quite busy. There were 6 of us and a dog. We were made welcome and given a table in a private space, which was great as we could let the dog off the lead while we were eating. It was a little bit cold in there, but perhaps it was because it was closed off from the main area. Our breakfast was served quickly, and everyone was happy with what they had. We would go back again to eat if we are staying in the area.

Called in for some refreshments this morning as we walked through Killin. One of only a few places open at this time of year. Roaring fire in the main room which we thought was a great addition on such a cold morning. Unfortunately that's where it ended. The server / waitress asked how many, we said 3 and she rudely pointed at a table next to the short steps and snapped "THERE" She then leaned over and threw the menus from the steps on to the table without saying anything. It's not like the place was busy. At the point we got up and left, her rudeness was unbelievable and uncalled for. I don't tolerate rudeness from anyone, especially from an establishment that would have been taking my money. Not sure what this place is known for but in the years I've visited Killin, this is the worst service I've ever experienced.

Not a bad place to stop for lunch, have been a couple of times when visiting Killin or passing through the area. Tends to be quieter than the places right in front of the falls and only a few minutes away - reasonable view from the seating area. Quite a basic menu but a good for lunch and light bites. Toasties come with a small amount of cheese (and if you don’t explicitly state so it won’t come with cheese!) and not a huge amount of crisps, and drinks served still in the can with a glass. Service pleasant and efficient, but the older waitress did get a little over personal at our last visit (for example, asking us how much our hotel costed) and the conversation felt quite like gossip - also saw her having a cigarette break out the front with her work clothes on, which is not particularly hygienic.

Good service. Good food. Hot and quite plentiful. Would recommend. Looks a little run down but all good.

Tried to get into here on a Saturday afternoon for some drinks and snacks, probably a couple of bowls of chips, but were told "We have no tables unless you are eating". Yet there was four or five tables available, I understand that food would bring more revenue, but it would have been better to have a table spend £60 on drinks and some light bites, rather than having a table not earning any money on the off chance there was going to be 4 groups of walk in's for food in an hour long period. Thankfully there was the Courie Inn who were very accommodating and a much better choice in the end.

We came across this place heading to Tummel Bridge and all we can say is outstanding. The waitress Carol was amazing with lots of fun and banter. Would highly recommend popping in here if you’re in the area.

Never felt so unwelcome in a place ever. Server was walking away from us while taking the order. We only wanted coffee and a scone but she took my husbands order of cappuccino and turned her back while I asked for a latte she turned back and I also asked for a scone but again she turned around and with her back to us shouted plain or fruit. I've never been treated like this anywhere Won't be back ever and I don't recommend

Had a lovely night of camping at Loch Earn, felt rough, and needed some much earned food! This place was amazing, not only is it near a car park but its within a stunning village with even more beautiful sights. Would definitely recommend 👌

was very disappointed with this restaurant was in Killin for a few days with my wife menu looked good ,but to our dismay it ended up more like being in a cafe people at the bar were loud and near the end of our food a large family came in with young kids which were not well supervised, as for the food we ordered Hunters Chicken which was served on cold plates it was so bad we did not bother with a dessert this first time i can say i would not recommend this as a place to eat and there is very little views as trees are overgrown

Popped in in 21st July as we were staying nearby. Location is gorgeous and the view from the rear is so relaxing♡ Straight away the staff are friendly and welcoming...and nothing changed throughout the prompt service I had the chicken with barbecue sause cheese chips and coleslaw...and wow that coleslaw is delicious! It all was. My son had the chicken curry which was 1 of the best we have tasted. My niece loved her cajun chicken burger..and my brother said the cheeseburger was yummy too ! We live over 2 hours drive away...but I will definately be making a day trip journey for lunch again soon! X Little gem of a place @

We popped in for breakfast on the way home from the lodges and the full English breakfast was the best we have ever had! Everything tasted so fresh and cooked to perfection, staff were lovely and the log fire kept us nice and cosy.
