Only ordered an English breakfast took over an hour before it was even sent out for delivery. Every 5 minutes my delivery time would go up another 5 minutes

I was lucky enough to have had an afternoon tea from here. It was completely faultless and delicious. The sandwiches were fresh, with not a curly edge in site. I overindulged and had a piece of lemon cake and a chocolate brownie, both of which were freshly baked. They were amazing. I couldn't eat the victoris sponge or scone but everyone who did said how beautiful they were. I also had a birthday cake, which was the best one I've ever had. I'm 49, so I've had a fair few over the years. I can't recommend how much this "little gem" is worth visiting. Make sure you wear stretchy trousers though, because you'll need it.

We love this cafe - we're there quite often for lunch or a weekend breakfast. My mother-in-law also loved it there but sadly passed away recently - and we asked if we could hold the wake there after the service. Kathy, Lisa and her team could not have done more for us - it made the perfect afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble - the catering was great, everything flowed brilliantly and even Dean from the airfield itself helped loading our Spotify playlist. It was the perfect end to an emotional day and her friends and family loved it. Would highly recommend anyway as a cafe - but they went above and beyond.

Easy parking . But we walked . Friends said it was difficult to find ( they drove ) . Not much food choice . Pasties and sausage rolls . Coffee and biscuits . Hubby said beer very nice . Had quart pint testers . Very dusty sitting out side . Out side seating not very welcoming . Could certainly do,more to make outside more comfortable .

I'm not usually a fan of shopping but I could have spent all day here looking at the cards, the books, the beautiful wools... but what a treat was in store on reaching the café. Delicious lunches, luscious cakes and fabulous iced coffees, all at very reasonable prices. The crushed pea/feta/radish on toast was stunning with a mouth watering variety of tastes and textures, beautifully presented and served by lovely staff! Just perfect!

This restaurant has been on my radar for a long time, but with the dark windows I could never gauge the ambience, but as my local go-to was full, I decided to go for it, which turned out to be an excellent decision! I only popped in for a quick sandwich, but ended up having the special which was a delicious curry (with just the right amount of heat) and came with rice and a samosa. Even the regulars recommended I try it. Such a lovely couple who run it, they were the perfect hosts and really interesting to talk to. I will definitely be back. They clearly take a lot of pride in what they do and with that level of friendly and sincere service, they deserve every success. Prices were extremely reasonable, and the lemon drizzle cake was gorgeous without being too sweet. I'll be back again, and will make sure I try the Pakistani chai (with notice, of course).

I recently visited this coffee shop with a group of 10 friends, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to poor service. The café was nearly empty, so we put two tables together to accommodate our group. However, the waitress immediately came over with a loud and aggressive tone, telling us we couldn’t do that, as it wasn’t safe. While we understand safety policies, her approach was unprofessional and made us feel like we weren’t even customers—just an inconvenience. What made the experience even more frustrating was that, despite the lack of other customers, she didn’t offer any alternative or suggest a larger table where we could sit together. We hadn’t made a reservation, but sometimes groups come together spontaneously, and it would have been nice to feel welcome. Overall, we left feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, which is not what we hoped for from a local coffee shop.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at The Moat House Coffee Shop. They advertise themselves as child-friendly, but my toddler and I were made to feel anything but welcome. Despite the inevitable mess that comes with young children, which I was actively cleaning up, staff approached me and asked us to leave because my child was “too messy.” This was not only embarrassing but also contradicted their supposed family-friendly ethos. If you’re a parent looking for a welcoming space, I’d recommend going elsewhere. A truly child-friendly establishment should show patience and understanding, not intolerance.
