Venue is on two floors , The ground floor is where you will find the most expensive club bar I have ever visited and the first floor area is far too small.

After a lengthy journey from Glasgow to Manchester, I found myself having a late-night meal at the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport’s “The Grill” restaurant. I decided to enjoy a repast here following the front desk’s statement that the restaurant served up “classic English dishes;” thus, I figured this would be a grand opportunity to partake in some English fish & chips, which is exactly what I ordered. But more on that in a moment. The Crowne Plaza (Manchester Airport) describes The Grill thusly: “Stylish contemporary restaurant offering a wide choice of modern cuisine in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.” I’m not exactly sure what makes this establishment “stylish” or “contemporary.” To my mind it was quite generic, even for a hotel restaurant. It’s basically a large open space adjacent to the lobby. The main restaurant area is lined with small white-topped tables with black chairs. There’s sparse artwork on the walls, but it adds little to the overall atmosphere and environment. Indeed, even the hotel’s propaganda photos on their official website cannot properly hide the lifeless physical space. To The Grill’s credit, their dinner menu actually sounded attractive on paper. As noted above, I settled on their classic English fish & chips. The food came in good time and looked decent enough; however, appearances can be deceiving – as I quickly found out. My piece of fish was impressive in its size, BUT when I bit into said fish, not only did I almost break my teeth, but all I ended up getting was a mouthful of crunchy batter. It turns out that literally HALF the “piece of fish” was nothing more than batter . . . and the fish that was there was paper thin and dry (see photo). To add insult to injury, my steak fries were barely warm. I’d be doing readers a disservice if I failed to mention the service received during dinner. In short, it was ho-hum. I’d first intended to eat a meal at the Hotel Bar (located in the same space as The Grill, but separated by a brown railing enclosure); however, after sitting for about 10-minutes without any form of acknowledgement, I moved down in to the restaurant section. Here, service was rather cold. The server showed up to take my order and then disappeared until I flagged him down to satisfy my bill. For a 4-star hotel, their restaurant staff is pretty mediocre. What saves The Grill from the dreaded 1-star rating is the breakfast buffet I enjoyed the following morning. It was well laid out and easily beats any sort of breakfast buffet you might get in North America. It featured a nice assortment of pastries, jellies, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, fruit juices, beans, tomatoes, sausages, breakfast spuds, ham and cold cuts. In short, I was left satisfied just before embarking upon my trans-Atlantic journey. FOOD: 2/5 SERVICE: 1/5 VALUE: 2.5/5 RECOMMENDATION: I’m not sure if I just chose the wrong item, but the fish & chips that were had here was nothing short of abysmal. I can honestly say I’ve had better fish out of the grocer’s freezer. Breakfast, though, was decent. In the unlikely event I attend the Crowne Plaza (Manchester Airport) again, I would likely patronize Sampans Oriental Restaurant because at least their propaganda photos look appealing. Service slow and not a great choice of drinks... does improve with the right team... hopefully my next visit will be better

Clinical, uncomfortable. Feels like it’s trying to be a chain or something. Food distinctly home made - as in you could do it yourself. Also, certainly the Saturday morning staff using choice language. Will not be back!

Went in town to find this place but it is nowhere to be seen. I am not sure if this is a shop or a stall in market. But I would have given it 5 star if it actually existed. The photo is misleading. Will be visiting town again soon so hope to try some good coffee here.

First review of this cafe, located within the range at Eccles. Our Christmas shopping so popped into the range to try the cafe, the food is shocking, bland and undercooked (jacket potato) staff not the best. Massively avoid and go McDonald’s or subway instead (both available on the same retail park)

Arrived at this outlet at 6:20am and it's shut, it should be open at 6am. This is the second time in a week this has happened, I'd suggest that Starbucks should employ people who can get out of bed on time or advertise that this branch is on Flexi time depending on what the staff attitude is.

I wrote a review last week and sent photos on trip advisor of the disgraceful state of the cafe.. It looked like the place hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. All the seats were badly stained and full of crumbs as was the floor and tables, the toilets were also filthy and could do with a deep clean. The is absolutely no excuse for poor hygiene especially in a cafe and toilet . My review was answered saying the staff would be notified and hope on my next visit things would have been improved. Well surprise surprise IT WAS NOT. I could have taken at least a dozen more photos but didn’t bother as I dont think you are in the least bit interested. Disgraceful customer service Dobbies. Just thought I would tell you my review and photos have been removed from trip advisor,so I am sending them again. I have also put a review and photos on trustpilot

Firstly, I can't fault the staff for friendliness. But, I'm here for a satisfactory experience overall. The drinks station isn't really up to scratch. I've encountered flies around the area. It could definitely be improved on cleanliness. The milk had run out too on one of the machines. Although I shop at Asda on a weekly basis, I feel the overall experience at the café would be better in one of the other leading chain supermarkets instead. Not the best experience.

This place used to be a decent stop off on the M61, but is now one to avoid. Ladies toilets are a mess. Several stalls have fault or no locks. The soap dispensers don’t all work, and 2 of the 3 hand dryers are useless. Overall seems grubby. On most recent visit, there was also toilet paper all over the floor. The grocery store also has a 1 star food hygiene rating. The food area looks uncared for, and rarely seems busy. Give it a miss if you have an alternative choice. EuroGarages need to up their game.

Can't understate how bad this place is, the staff on the till were the worst I have ever come across, got a blank stare and yeah after each item. Asked for two cans of pop and was given a blank stare, she took the order 23 quid for two portions of fish and chips and two cans of pop. When the food arrived it arrived at the till with the staff playing around with each other, I went and fetched them in the end to there amusement, think my fish was skin in batter, my wife bit hers said it's too greasy and pushed it away. Avoid this place at all costs truly awful!

Normally great here but since removing some seating from this very busy costa in Next, it’s not easy to get a seat. There’s several seats in the outside area but this was LOCKED!! Staff didn’t make me aware of this until after I’d purchased a drink so stood there like an idiot with nowyto sit. Luckily I’d requested a takeaway cup so had to sit in my car to drink my coffee. INFURIATING!!
