Costa Coffee in Warrington

Normally great here but since removing some seating from this very busy costa in Next, it’s not easy to get a seat. There’s several seats in the outside area but this was LOCKED!! Staff didn’t make me aware of this until after I’d purchased a drink so stood there like an idiot with nowyto sit. Luckily I’d requested a takeaway cup so had to sit in my car to drink my coffee. INFURIATING!!

I waited long time for coffee. Staffs leaf the tables very dirty as the mess left by customers were not cleared at all.

3rd in q, 15 min wait, 7 in q behind, was told no coffee for next 10 min something broken, gent returned with empty t pot that should have been full, all empty tables full of dirty crockery. Disgusting.

Visited today with my husband. Before our order was taken we were asked to use the NHS app which we did. We then ordered our coffees and collected the tray as you would usually. We weren't directed to a table so found an empty table and watched the guy who was clearing the tables. Not once did he even wipe down the tables never mind sanitise any table. Trays were not sanitised or menus. Dreadfully lacking in protecting their customers and not what you would call covid safe. When exiting the cafe you have to walk past the queue of customers waiting to be served in close proximity, no dedicated entry and exit.

Friendly staff who are extremely helpful. On staff alone I would recommend this place. Standard Costa fare. The only downside is a small group of OAPs who get there first thing in the morning and seem to think they have a monopoly on some seats. There is one woman who shouts all the time. Not a quiet place for a coffee.

The staff are pleasant, the surrounding are good, but they start to close the place down - barricades, chairs on tables etc up to 4 hours before closing time. Closing time Mon to Fri is 2130 - but from the state of the place you'd think the closing time was about 1900!
