I don't leave reviews often but the service is very slow, (over 30 mins for a basic breakfast) and the breakfast looked like it has been under a heat lamp all morning, dry bacon, sausage skin has gone crisp they even burned the toast

With an hour and 40 mins till close, and all foods advertised was told couldn’t have a seasonal toastie as there were none in fridge. I had a choice of a panini or a g/f cheese toastie. Reason…… been busy and it’s coming to end of day. Besides it’s harder to cook those toasties. Did find ma a pigs under blankets toastie , paid for it only to be Brie and cranberry when it arrived. Dreadful service, watery hot drinks and substandard food. Use at your own peril.

Bearing in mind this cafe is located within a Superstore there was no porridge, no brown rolls and only skimmed milk. No wonder there were only three other people in there at 9am. Will only be stopping for fuel on our way home.

I have never before ate a meal that I would describe as "disgusting". That was until today when I visited Asda Cafe (run by Compass Catering) in Carlisle. My intention was to shop at Asda Carlisle on my way home to West Cumbria and on entering the store I noticed the breakfast menus in your cafe, so I decided to have one. Despite menus and displays everywhere they were no longer serving breakfast, so I ordered brunch instead. The lady operating the till was struggling to do so and it was evident she had not been trained. There were no knives or napkins at the cutlery area. Eventually knives were brought out but were still wet - because there no napkins I couldn't wipe it. Due to no napkins or trays, had to place my cutlery onto unclean table. - Food arrived "eventually" (half hour wait) - I went to cut into the sausage, and it was so hard that when I eventually cut through it - half of it flew off the plate and onto the floor. - The black pudding was also rock hard - half of it shot of the plate and the rest crumbled into bits. - The egg yolk was also rock hard and tasted of "gone off cooking oil" - The bread was stale. - The chips were quite nice! I can only describe this meal (at almost £10 including extra bacon (both slices were dry and cold) as absolutely disgusting and one that should never have been served! Being hungry after a long journey, I ate it and I wish I hadn't. I can not get rid of the vile taste of gone off cooking oil or the smell of it! My stomach had been churning all afternoon and I'll be surprised if I don't have an upset stomach tomorrow. Needless to say, after experiencing that cafe, I didn't do my shopping in Asda, I went to Sainsburys instead. I appreciate Asda contract the cafe service to a catering company (Compass Catering) but surely they have a service level agreement in place with them with regards to the quality of their offering in their name. I should add that the cafe was not that busy and so there is no excuse for serving such disgraceful food.

I decided to stop at the Asda cafe in Carlisle as I needed a cheap snack on the way home and wished I hadn't. Fair does, the woman on the till was friendly, but the scone I had was rock hard, small, and expensive at £ 2,50 for what is supposed to be a supermarket cafe, not a restaurant. Also I heard a woman behind me complain that her fish and chips were poor. It's not often I give one star, but the Asda cafe deserves this as they are charging over the odds for a scone that is half the size you'd buy in Greggs and other people have commented the meals and snacks are poor. I won't be visiting again.

I was in a bit of a rush after doing a shop. Thought I would have a full English Breakfast. With cup of Tea well certainly overpriced with over cooked cold bacon sausages you would not give to the dog. Warm canned Tomatoes and a greasy Hash Brown. Eggs ok. Tea ok. If this is an advert for Asda products. You can keep them as rubbish quality. Tables are needling a good scrub as was the Man working behind the counter. Get a breakfast intact get food anywhere but at this Cafe its absolutely rubbish

I stopped here for lunch and a break during my drive to Scotland. I had fish and chips with a cup of tea fish was freshly cooked in nice crispy batter it’s a shame it was served with frozen/oven chips home made chips would have complemented it better. I would have scored this five out of five if it hadn’t been for the frozen/oven chips and the cup of tea which wasn’t aloud to brew properly before the milk went in resulting in a very poor tasting tea..

Visited asda Kilmarnock today and my daughter and I had a toastie and chips. Got to the til and noticed the cashier never charged it as a "hot sandwich deal" when I questioned this I was told only the panini was included in this deal and a toastie (technically a sandwich put in a toastie maker) is NOT classed as a hot sandwich. For the sake of £1 I never argue. But I have never heard such nonsense and could only laugh at the stupidity.

If you want a quick, hot breakfast served by friendly, pleasant staff avoid this place like the plague !!!!!! Today 1/10/2017, we went for breakfast, there were 2 people in front of us who, I thought, were getting served, no not the case. The 2 staff behind the counter never once made eye contact with anyone stood on the other side never mind acknowledging the fact we were there. Eventually the 2 in front were served, that's good I thought shouldn't be long now , how wrong was I another 15 mins went passed before we were served and then it took another 10 mins to do 2 breakfasts even though everything was already cooked !!!!!! Where on earth do you get theses people from ???? and more to the point why do you still employ them after all the complaints, it really baffles me !! At last we got our long awaited breakfast, yum, yum .......err NO !!!! It was cold, over cooked and quite frankly discusting. Come on Asda get your act together, employ some decent staff there are plenty out there wanting work and when you do employ someone who moves quicker than Stephen who was on today as my tortoise moves around the garden quicker than him. I can quite safely say I will not be returning .

Called in Sunday just after 12.30 to have our lunch and do some shopping, big mistake should have known by the empty cafe area something was not right.Ordered fish & chips (will take 10 mins) okay, filled yorkshire pudding & all day breakfast.Well here goes fish not fully cooked, chips not fully cooked & a few cold peas.Yorkshire pudding included some kind of mashed potato & 2 sausages, couldn't cut the yorkshire crust was like concrete even tried to break some off no chance.Sausages were barely warm & must have been standing all day as they were dried up unedible.Big breakfast cold beans, bacon just brittle been warmed up all day & 2 sausages as above. No toast just a slice of last weeks bread & a portion of butter.2 luke warm cups of something they were selling as tea (dishwater).Absolutely appalling to call this cooked food. All this for just under £20.00.Staff not very pleasant & unapproachable.Would strongly not recommend & will certainly never use again.

I never expect much from the grumpy couldn't care less staff here but today took the biscuit. I ordered a warm Beef and onion baguette (£3) only to find when i sat down that it didnt have any beef in it. I took it back and 2 staff couldn't see the problem! Finally I spoke to the supervisor who opened another baguette to find it was the same. The best she was able to do was produce some beef and push it into my sandwich. No offer of a refund or apology. The worst however was that the baguette were not taken off the shelf but left to be sold to other unsuspecting customers.

Bad experience. Ordered big breakfast, none of the items were particularly hot, but the baked beans were almost stone-cold. Complained, they were replaced, fine. The worst thing was the wet cutlery, absolutely dripping wet, sitting in pools of water in the container. When I mentioned this to the lady who brought the replacement beans, she said they weren't allowed to dry the cutlery, it had to air-dry. I pointed out that it was not dry, it was WET, at which she picked it up and started dabbing at it with some napkins. Surely common sense tells you that wet cutlery is unhygienic and needs to be dried properly somehow? Maybe not, she didn't seem at all bothered. I was asked whether I wanted a refund, which I declined. All I wanted was for my food to be served at the correct temperature in a sanitary environment, Asda failed on both counts.

The food is always OK, typical supermarket cafe food (but nicer than Tesco). Always great for eating on a budget. However....the service is soooo slow...you can go any time of day and either just one person serving (or the miserable woman ignoring you and stocking the fridge shelves!!). Sometimes a few staff behind the counter but still its mind-numbing how it took ten minutes to serve me 2 coffees and toast and I was the only one there!! I would never not visit when I was in Asda and its a standing joke now that it takes ages to get served.
