We had a great evening at Lago. Their meat and cheese charcuterie board was excellent with a great selection of produce. We loved their extensive drinks menu and I have to call out their excellent margaritas! A great spot!

I loved this colourful little café, but unfortunately I had to mark them down as I think something must have been burnt shortly before we arrived, and my eyes are so sensitive that within a few minutes my eyes were stinging and streaming. I had a fabulous hot chocolate, and my son really enjoyed his burger. I would have liked to have stayed longer but my eyes were so sore (and it was too cold to sit outside) that I just wanted to leave. Staff were fantastic, and I feel terrible that I couldn’t give them the 5 stars that they deserve.

I go there in my first time trip in last week. I spend 2 hours and take some beer with my partner. We really enjoy the time. I'll come here again.

What a gem!! Me & my partner grabbed 2 turkey bacon sub rolls from here for lunch, they were £4.50 each and they were awesome! You never get value for money like that these days, it was fresh, warm and massive, a 10/10 sandwich. Even better after a big walk in the fells. Will return often i’m sure! Friendly warm service too. Great place with an exciting menu for all: gluten free and coeliac. Friendly, efficient service and a lovely terrace to indulge whilst watching the world go by.

Fab little bar in bowness, great location right off the high street. Great live singer during our time here, which gave great atmosphere.

Amazing house brilliant guided tour. A great example of an arts and craft house.

We started our Easter Sunday here with a breakfast of waffles, bacon and maple syrup washed down with a large latte for me and a pot of tea for my husband. Made fresh to order, we didn't want to over-do it as we were having a Sunday lunch after our walk around Bowness (and squeezing in an ice cream along the way). Good sized waffles with plenty of maple syrup to pour of both them and the bacon. A good choice for a lazy breakfast!

Lovely warm welcome. Nancy and John, the proprietors, are great people. You are guaranteed a cracking time, nice drinks, nice atmosphere.

Booked a last min table for a birthday celebration. Food was absolutely lovely and the prices were reasonable for what you got portion wise. We had two starters, a child’s meal 2 main meals and a bottle of wine and it came to £85- ignore the other reviews about being over priced ! Would deffo recommend ! 10/10 thank you

Very very expensive and most of it was stone cold. Would not recommend as there are many more places nearby .could not comment on other meals

Lovely portion size for the money! We sat outside and the weather was lovely, but the street is a bit noisy (not the restaurants fault). Good place to stop at in Bowness!

The staff were very nice the breakfast was so bad bens almost warm , bacon was over cooked beans cheap and nasty all in all for the price stay clear 14 pounds for that is so bad only plus side scrambled eggs was so nice and fresh

Myself and my partner booked an afternoon tea for his birthday which we attended on a Tuesday afternoon. Firstly the staff could not have been more pleasant and attentive from the moment we arrived. They were very accommodating of my need for a vegetarian option and also that I didn’t want any egg. We were told how the afternoon tea worked with drinks as we booked the one with an alcoholic beverage. We had our drinks within a few minutes of being there which were both lovely cocktails. The food arrived not long after, which even though was all small portions, it was all very tasty and fresh. The atmosphere was nice, we sat outside in the shade as was very sunny but we had blankets if needs be. All in all it was a nice experience but my vegetarian option was limited and for the price I definitely think there should be more for what you are paying for. So I would go back but for a drink and maybe a piece of cake but I wouldn’t get afternoon tea again.

This place looked nice from the outside and had some street food on the menu which was what we were looking for. Staff friendly enough and can't really go wrong with the drinks, my wife and I decided to go for the nachos each. They were awful! Everyone's tastes are different I get, but the topping clearly pinged in the micro and then the whole plate covered not in melted cheese, but a cheese sauce which was a majorly cheap alternative that was disgusting to be honest...but like I say, may appeal to others taste. But it was a poor showing for me.
